Men started something they couldn't handle when they decided to define a woman's worth as being solely dependent on her virginity in the Elizabethan era. Lol
If you've ever read Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare, you'll know what I mean.
Then women reacted by copying men to flip the tables on them by using their evil and sexually deviant ways against them to escape the patriarchy of death or to just...survive (by using money from porn/ sex work).

I've been sexually disciplined for years but I realize the vast majority of people are not and casual sex is normalized and I'm the odd man out. People do not fully grasp the repercussions of sex. There's nothing casual about it. I got laughed out of a group online for not giving a guy sex after 5 dates. "I would have stopped talking to a guy after that long" it was only 4 weeks of dating 😂 these comments coming from women. 5 times you hang out w someone is "too long" before sex?? Young people aren't in relationships or having as much sex as past generations at their age. The loneliness epidemic is everywhere and so is sex. i'm young, 19. i have a girlfriend who's 20. we both are virgins are are terrified to even get that far into.. intimacy, we're waiting till marriage to prove to ourselves that sex isn't needed to build a loving and healthy relationship. i fell in love with this girl's soul and spirit over the past year, it's terrifying to me that so many folks kinda just give themselves away like that.. i was never ever a casual dating person anyways, it just scares me that people don't have value in what that kind of intimacy holds. it's important to only do it if you plan on staying with that partner. i'm not saying wait till marriage, me and her waiting until that has nothing to do with religion or anything like that, it's just if i'm gonna do something like that with someone i wanna make sure i marry them too. i want them to be my one and only. that's it lol

As a mostly retired h*e, I don't shame eroticism in either myself or others. I think s3x shame is just as bad as the laissez-faire attitude many people have towards intimacy. Both extremes
Having said that, culture has drastically shifted towards the latter. I don't think that's a positive because everyone doesn't have that blueprint to live like that effectively. Everyone isn't meant to be a proto-prostitut3. I don't think the solution is mass purity culture cuz I've seen the dark side of that as well(nothing nice).
I think the solution is for people to find equilibrium with their sense of self and being at every stage of life. Carnality without compassion and character is a path towards mediocrity if not destruction. S3x should be a byproduct of the connection you have with someone, not the end goal. Just my two cents.

Sure. What I mean by that is that there's has to be authentic respect and reciprocity for each other's personhood. Not to engage each other as merely tools for satisfaction and discarding like they never existed. If there's no alliance, mutualism or at the very least camaraderie...why should physical intimacy follow?
A good rule of thumb I follow is asking myself would I be okay not engaging in intimacy with and just enjoying their presence 😊 if the answer is yes, whatever happens or doesn't is wonderful either way. If the answer is no, my rapport with this person is probably more of a reductive nature and should probably be engaged in sparingly or not at all.
I personally think that s3x is best enjoyed in a loving and healthy relationship/marriage but I also know that there are other life paradigms that people operate within that are not that such as divorced people who never wanna get married again or people who love singlehood but still have those physical desires and arrange a more informal friends with benefits arrangements.
Common denominator for any of these arrangements to be successful imho is respect(of self and other), rapport, character, compassion and connection. I hope I didn't ramble on too much lol

      @blacksocrates1 2 місяці тому +21

That is all fine and well as a concept, but it is thorough a selfish and self-absorbed way to view things. It isn't simply about shame. It is about the state of society and how women will be viewed. If we as a society allow women to be sexualized and devoid of shame, do not be surprised when marriage and fertility rates plummet. If you care about the state of society and future generations then you will take an interest in safeguarding against hedonism. A little bit of lust is as justifiable as a little bit of crystal meth.if you are going to condemn the latter, on what basis do you do so? Pleasure is pleasure right?

Besides, there are much more pressing issues besides s3xualization such as wealth inequality, human trafficking and environmental disaster and I doubt that you're contributing to being the solution for either one of those or the one that you speak of. Yes, pleasure is pleasure...but pleasure rooted in trying to feel a void or escapism is the basis for addiction. Fine as a concept...and excellent as a practice 😊

The brain doesn't distinguish between reality and thoughts. When you visually see something it's imprints in your brain as reality. However, because we have experience and know what we are seeing is not real, we hijake our brain's ability to produce the hormones like dopamine with a false reality. And our amazing bodies become used to the same false reality which triggers needed for more to meet that dopamine level of before, the margin of utility.
Same thing happens with scary/thriller and violent movies and TV shows. If you stop ingesting this content for some time then try and watch it again your body reacts as if it's real, especially with production quality. This content is hijacking our ability to produce cortisol which afterwards it calms down there a huge feeling of relief and pleasure.
Our brains enjoy stimulation, but can be overly stimulated and desensitized.

Yes I am a father to my beautiful 8 month year old daughter. Her mother and I were not together. And I could not control myself. Once it ended I moved on and found the love of my life. My wife now (not the mother to my child) I hear about the news of my child and took full accountability and responsibility. It is painful for everyone. Me, my wife and the mother to my child. Painful in the aspect of many things. Not having a baby when ready or the person you are in love with. It hurts… I stay up late nights thinking about the pain I caused. I am not that same person I was before. Although it’s painful that I could not be the father in typical circumstances. The love I have for my daughter is like no love I’ve ever felt and inspired me to be so much more. I can never take back the pin I caused. But I can become the father I always wanted and needed growing up to my daughter. My beautiful wife who has stuck with me through it all and trays my daughter like her own. If you are in a similar situation. Be true to yourself. Do not lie to anyone or yourself. Be a good man or woman and spread love. If you think you have done wrong. You can change and you can become so much more. Believe in yourself and remember why you want to change. I wish you all the best of luck and happiness in the challenging journey in life.

But I’m saying this as someone that recently just lost their virginity and waited a bit longer than average (23). You are not missing much. At all. And if I’m being brutally honest about it I didn’t even really like it. It’s not like what I did was a random hookup either, it was with my girlfriend. But I mainly did it because it’s what I thought I wanted, after the fact, I’m kind of starting to regret it. I held onto my virginity for so long to the point where I started to disregard how special a first time actually would be, and that eats away at me because that’s something I can never get back. Take your time, and find someone like YOU. Don’t conform to norms, narratives, and what other people want out of you. Don’t make the mistake I did. Even if you take away the religious lenses coming from a Catholic, this over-sexualization issue is still a problem. I’ve seen vent animations from other artists like me who suffer from hypersexuality due to being exposed to NSFW so easily despite being so young. Even if you take religion out of it this is still a problem as it still normalizes hypersexuality and sex addiction, which is bad because hypersexuality is considered a kind of metal issue/disorder.

Mostly because my brother and I were taught by my mother that the body is a temple and that the only person who should have access is the person you can trust and love, vice-versa. And the other reason for my continued celibacy is that I find people disgusting. I want my future partner to be patient, clean, respectful, and not be a regular participant in intercourse. I've been told that you have to lose your vcard in high school. Otherwise, I'd be a prude. Now we are going to get a bit personal, so feel free to ignore this part if you want.
Even as someone who grew up with an addiction to very sexual content due to some things I searched up as a kid, I am aware that it shouldn't be something I am proud of (I grew up with religious parents, however they don't tell me to not do the deed at all, just to be careful). However, it almost got to the point where I couldn't even sleep at night because I wasn't feeling the same after the 50th time if watching that stuff. I would get thoughts to run away in the middle of the night to get a fix. I never did, but gosh, is it scary to think about.
I have my own interests, sure, but I have learned to try and cut back on such things, and I want to do relationships the traditional way. I don't wanna do any freaky stuff in the first few years, I don't want to feel that my relationship is based around the bedroom only...

Intercourse, is indeed somthing that should be intimate, private, and seriously considered, and both male and females should be aware of and consider the implications of engaging in it as they could possibly procreate a sentient child which has to be raised and carries a whole bunch of legal trouble and expenses. It is okay to engage in it if both parties consent to it and accept the implications and should feel happy and not ashamed to engage in the act to express thier appreciation and connectedness to be together with their partner passonatley. Now sexual casualization of females or males needs to be stopped, as it misleeds people to think it is okay to act indecent in public as this could promote sexual violence for males and causes females to be targets of sexual abuse or objectifed, as lots of people dont understand how to control or process their urge or why they feel a certain way when they see somthing or ask themselves why they are taught a certain way to behave and think about things.
