My favorite Dylan song. I listen to it every time I embark on a road trip. I impressed with your grasp of Dylan's genius and your interest to listen to more and more of his work.
Tangled Up In Blue is one of several favorites from his 1973 Blood On Tracks LP. It's such a great album that brings back many good memories for me. Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts is another classic off the same record. If you'll forgive me, ill repeat a few other songs I mentioned on an earlier Dylan reaction from last week. To Ramona (1964) This is a gentle love song that he sings rather well. Forever Young (1974) Another gentle song written as a lullaby for his first son Jessie, who was 7 yrs old at the time. Dylan's backing band (The Band) do an excellent job setting the mood for this song. Chimes of Freedom (1964) This is an expressive song that conveys his solidarity for people who are less fortunate in this world. The thunder in the song are symbolic for bells that are tolling for those who are downtrodden and oppressed. This song is filled with oneliners that create distinct images and poetry that invokes deep thought. It is, imo, a masterpiece. Watching the River Flow (1971) This is an upbeat toe tapper that always puts me in a good mood. If you listen, there is a little bit of Dylan's dry humor mixed in with some of his lyrics. The backing musicians, including the late great Leon Russell on piano, really make this an undeniable joyful tune. Hope you find the time to enjoy and share these songs with your fans. Cheers t'ya!

Oh yeah girl Blood on the tracks was such a great album you just can't go wrong with all the songs on that one my step brother he had so many Bob Dylan records and he was such a big fan and that's how I learned about Bob Dylan yeah you'll have to see Jimi Hendrix at Monterey Park doing the song you already reacted to Like a Rolling Stone you got to see his version and of course I don't know if you already reacted to All Along the Watchtower yeah I know I think you did let me check
From a Buick Six ~ I haven’t seen anyone react to that. And there are some beautiful Dylan covers. I don’t see many reactions to them either ~ Joan Baez versions of Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall, Daddy You Been On My Mind, You Ain’t Going Nowhere ; Joe Cocker versions of I Shall Be Released, Just Like A Woman … and some more recent ones like Sevara Gjurin’s cover of Not Dark Yet and Anana Kaye’s cover of Señor
Written in part as an homage to JoniMitchell's groundbreaking album, "Blue"... This lp, "Blood on the Tracks," was a total surprise upon release. Dylan had been largely a recluse since he had a motorcycle accident, and his work had been in decline, but everyone recognized this album as a masterpiece from beginning to end! Thanx for the memories!!!
I didn't think his work was declining, though it was constantly changing and evolving. To me John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, and Planet Waves were all great albums. Of course Self Portrait was just weird, although he did say he was sick of people and wanted to put something out that was awful so people would stop bothering him, "to me it was a joke". Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid was just a soundtrack and Dylan was a release of studio outtakes compiled by Columbia Records with no input from him.

One song I'd like you to consider off this album is "Your gonna make me lonesome when you go". Dylan says the songs in 65 and 66 came to him by magic and even Bob was astonished by his lyrics!! This was like 1971 but was as good as the other three albums I mentioned!

Dylan's most lyrically significant song, IMO, is "It's alright ma, I'm only bleeding". It early Dylan, his folk music stage when he was writing his deepest lyrics. In a '60 Minutes' interview much later in his career, Dylan quoted lyrics from this song and said he doesn't know how to write songs like that anymore. Those lyrics were a gift to him in his younger years, a gift that he could not describe. I can also suggest another great early song, "The Times They Are a Changin". For this song, I suggest a live version, just Bob Dylan singing and playing guitar and harmonica. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/Q9_nWlSX6Us/v-deo.html
You know here's a little weird side note my dearest girl Bob Dylan wrote a song about Brian Jones the blonde haired member of The Rolling Stones he was actually the guy who formed the group he always liked to play exotic instruments anyhow when Hendrix did the song All Along the Watchtower Brian Jones was there and he helped him he played this instrument right at the start it's oh I don't know what you call it it has these gears with the little wooden pallet that is spring loaded and you turn the crank and it makes this funny sound but you can hear it after the acoustic guitar you hear this crazy sound and then the drums and they and it just kept going and going you know along with the acoustic guitar after the acoustic guitar would play you'd hear this thing it's almost sounds like a party favor but it's a lot bigger and it has this really cool sound well anyhow that's Brian Jones playing that percussive instrument which is funny because since it's Bob Dylan's song and Hendrix is doing it and Bob Dylan wrote a song about Brian Jones so it's pretty cool you know it's almost like Brian Jones answering back to Bob Dylan yeah I hear you man that is a pretty good song by the way Mr Jones I think that's the name of it okay awesome girl
I'm copying and pasting a comment from a couple of videos back with my suggestions. "Bob's best songs: Knocking on Heaven's Door (studio version), Subterranean Homesick Blues, Most Likely You Go Your Way (Mick Ronson mix), It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Hurricane, She Belongs to Me, Highway 61 Revisited, Shelter from the Storm, Tangled Up in Blue, Tight Connection to My Heart..."
Is this the best song ever from America? I can see where the idea for Forrest Gump may have come from, and I see the great American stories, like Easy Rider and the Straight Story, the vastness of the country; and of moving and restless characters, always searching for something but never truly finding it. Simple, complex, unmatched, IMO.
Pls react to every grain of sand it's from his Christian period a lot of people pulled Dylan to bits saying that he lost his way turning to Christianity but he wrote some beautiful songs at this period in his life. The song is off the album shot of Love which I think is quite a strong album in my opinion.
In part, an homage to JoniMitchell's album "Blue"... "Blood on the Tracks" is the Dylan lp that marked the comeback of an increasingly reclusive and thought to be fading superstar!

This may be "Tangled up in Blue" but Cimdy is all Tangled up in Bob, lol!
❤️
Check out Murder Most Fowl he wrote and recorded it in 2020 at 79 years old his first number one hit and it is good
Try "if you see her say hello" from the same album as this one
Have you ever tried acting? I feel like you would be a good actress.
Thank you so much
In part, an homage to JoniMitchell's album "Blue"...
"Blood on the Tracks" is the Dylan lp that marked the comeback of an increasingly reclusive and thought to be fading superstar!
Italian poet of the 13teenth century. Who writes songs about Dante these days.
‘I Want You’ is a fun bop tune. And you get plenty of harmonica in between each verse
