As a Chelsea fan, i love the way we’re playing now and im just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride. Still think it’s way too early to call anyone title contenders when 1st place and 8th place are separated by 11 points. The one thing I’m curious about with this current Blues team, we can see how they look when they’re winning n things are going their way, but i want to see how they respond to a game where they suck or just can’t get the job done. Can they keep the loses to a minimum and avoid letting 1 loss turn into a streak? I think so but until it happens it’s all just a guess.
I think top 4 was our goal beginning of the season and I'd be happy with that but I can see us going above arsenal the squad depth could play a massive difference, a few injuries to arsenal and they struggle
Real Chelsea fans know we are not contenders. We will still have a bad spell at some point in the season. Top 4 and win the Conference League will be a great season given where we have been the last couple of years. Great video BTW.
I feel like a few non-statistical reasons should be considered more often. If you look at the table, we’ve actually had the most difficult start to the season. Also, we’ve had this start with a brand new manager implementing a completely different style of play and training regimen. We’re about to go on an easier run of games and we’ll be much better when the difficult games come again.
Would love to see Renato Veiga get more minutes He is so versatile as he can play LB and invert in midfield and at LCB as he did for Portugal Maybe Maresca plays him instead of Badiashile to develop him as a centre back for the meanwhile
There is nothing we chelsea fans enjoy more than getting written off. Have u guys ever asked urselves, why real madrid always win the championsleague whenever they have a decent team in europe? That's because there is a spirit following them! If chelsea was in arsenals position they would either have already won the league or championsleague. Keep on underrating chelsea, as far as i am concerned, we chelsea are in a relegation fight!
I do agree Chelsea does need a better defender and GK, but Maresca did say that his strategy will lead to more goals, the team just has to outscore the opponents which they are doing
What people seem to be forgetting is that Chelsea are only getting better and Marescas systems only just started to come in to play and yield results. The players are finally starting to come together and the chemistry is there. These players will take this season with the intensity and performance right to the final day. We have two full starting 11s to balance European and domestic competitions whereas Liverpool as usual will have a noticeable fall off during afcon with Salah missing as well as injuries and increased fixture burden with European competitions heating up. Chelsea are the long-term competitors here whether it be this season next season or the season after they will win the Premier League before other clubs start to catch up with the new modern model of more players, younger players and rotating teams for different competitions.
we'll know once the difficult part of the season begins and their players have to show what they can do in various adverse situations and once pressure really ramps up and expectations with it
But now I think a lot of the 2nd team players are making inroads in the 1st team as well . As we saw against Southampton where we dominated with most of the 2nd team. And players like Felix, mudryk are more than ready now to contribute equally for the first team as well, thus I do believe we will still be able to rotate quite well next season as well even if we play in the champions league.
Could you guys do a “sensible January transfers” for Chelsea to get over the line, or truly challenge next year when everyone strengthens and there’s more parity with European competitions? A few depth options are logical but a “take the next step” is more challenging. Thanks
Predicted at the start of the season that Sancho would be found out for not being able for the pace and strength of the League. 9 games, taken off 5 times, subbed on 3 times! Delicate lad!
We're not quite there. Obviously need a solid centre back and goalkeeper which has been obvious. I'm just going game by game. Just hope the form continues as long as possible

Tosin is just a few weeks older than Nkunku, they both turned 27 this fall and won’t be 28 til next season. The squad is extremely young when those are your elder statesmen lol
Pointless to talk about this in December. We have a run until end of Jan where we supposedly have 7 ‘easy’ fixtures - if (and only if) we take 21 points from that then we can start to dream but there are some really tough fixtures in there and I don’t think it will happen
I am a Chelsea fan and very biased but we've been kinda unlucky too, we've given up the most penalties and we've played a very good city in the beginning of the year instead of right now,and slot also said that we challenged them the most this season and i think that's true,i hope they can close the gap,but still not in the title race, next year should be a wrap tho
I think Chelsea will figure out a rotation that works for next year even in the champions league. It might not be as clear an a and b type team but maybe like splitting the squad into 3 or 4 different lineups where each of the best 11 is in all but one squad and second team guys fill in.
It's so simple...to watch the good work of Maresca's team and call it "easy"... It's like me saying: "It's easy to do what the Athletic do - you just need a camera and a touchscreen, innit..."
we are in a title race, we can try and shruug it off as much we want but those aren't thing for us to decide but the table and the form of the team decide it. if we don't win we dont but if we win that just mean we outperformed our own expectation for this season simple as that
We chelsea supporters have gone through enough disappointment the past couple years. If people wanna put us in the title conversation, great, but after 2 years of being excluded from the Champions League, top 4 is genuinely the only goal we NEED to achieve. Anything less than that is absolutely a failure, but i dont want to hear people trying to convince us that not winning the premier league in our first season under our coach with a bunch of kids is somehow some colossal failure.
When it comes to chelsea defensively, ive noticed that no one ever talks about how many goals we’ve actually conceded because it blows the narrative apart. Its always “expected” stats. Why dont you mention that only 2 teams have conceded less goals than us?
How aren’t we in the title race? Top scorers in the league 5 points off Liverpool, 1 point above arsenal with a game in hand and an absolute stacked squad
Joe, please do an old fashioned Tifo style 'Chelsea under Maresca' animated video 🙏 Miss those. No offense to JJ and co. While I'm at it, 1) shout out to Cole Palmer 2) We're NOT in a title race, we just want 3 points 😊
Just to be clear, while Lavia did get hit in the head Maresca said the sub was for tactical reasons and not because he was injured. Apparently Lavia is fine.
I hope i am not jumping the gun here but this season chelsea have a great chance for the title if (something tells me that they secretly are going to) push and test liverpool. It depends on liverpool's mentality and fitness toward second half of season. Mark my words next season and the seasons to come, i have no doubt chelsea will dominate domestically and in europe if they get rid of dead wood. Imagine Estevao, Paez, Santos. Jorgensen is good enough to be starting, pending sanchez getting suspended for a match. Add one confortable rcb (van hecke from brighton) and we are set. Mareska is also turning from a mere coach to a manager.
Truly, Chelsea isn't in the title race, I support that analysis even though I do not support how you guys arrived at it. Here are my thoughts on the analysis in this video 1. Bogus analysis if your referential metric is xG. The analysis of the Spurs game you guys missed a huge talking point in the sense that Cole Palmer was a heavy factor in tilting Spurs towards the right-hand side of the pitch. On multiple occasions he had Bissouma opting to mark him even when there was obvious threat on the left, and a great example of this was the third goal for chelsea by Enzo Fernandez, where Cole Palmer drags half the Spurs team to the right, freeing up space for Enzo (lucky to have it fall for him though) and this gravity Spurs players had towards Cole Palmer had a bigger influence in the game than people realize. 2. Enzo Maresca has repeatedly said he is working with just 24 players which I reckon is what other teams work with barring any injuries to the registered players, so your point of "broad squad" is just a repeated rhetoric stemming out of Chelsea's transfer in recent years and is untrue. It is a story repeated so much you guys are starting to believe it. 3. Pulling up the side by side of the minutes played for both competitions to highlight your "broad squad" rhetoric is laughable because other teams have the opportunity to do the same, they just don't have the quality, it's not a case of Chelsea having more players as insinuated, that is incorrect. You should be talking more about the quality of the squad and really good player profile that almost feels like they have a 40-man squad.
once again i almost didn’t watch this thinking it was the other podcast, would’ve watched it immediately if i’d known. yall should really work on the branding
This is what we Chelsea fans have been saying, we know what a title winning team and form looks like we are not there yet, i will go as far as to say if we had 21-22 Thiago Silva and Reece James with Colwill and a decent keeper we would have been in title race
They've got Sanchez as a starting keeper. They aint sniffing any trophies. Get a solid GK and a few solid defenders and then they are genuine title challengers
I don’t think any player would get away with what Kepa done under Sarri ( refusing to be subbed off ) with Maresca, I’d said Maresca would drag him off by the head. And that’s what managers should do, end of the day they’re the boss and if the team isn’t successful it’s the manager that loses his job not the players

I have my faith with Maresca 500%. Let’s go you bluesssssss KTBFFH!
Excellent mini pod. Tough to make simplicity sound simple.
This has aged well lol as has the athletic article by Liam twomey and Simon J
We're not In the title charge.
We're just trying to get 3 points
Class job lads
Cant wait to watch this
Jo is an absolute treasure 👏
Would love to see Renato Veiga get more minutes
He is so versatile as he can play LB and invert in midfield and at LCB as he did for Portugal
Maybe Maresca plays him instead of Badiashile to develop him as a centre back for the meanwhile
I’ll be happy with second this season and a few trophies we need a decent defender and world class keeper to challenge next season
As a Chelsea fan, love this
There is nothing we chelsea fans enjoy more than getting written off.
Great stuff. Need JJ's Mexico top in my life
Would be great to see a video on Bournemouth and Iraola, second on expected points wow!
Very real... More than u believe... More than u believe.
There is no AFCON this season.
Liverpool win games without Salah all the time 😂😂
They are!! Up the Blues💙💙💙!!
we'll know once the difficult part of the season begins and their players have to show what they can do in various adverse situations and once pressure really ramps up and expectations with it
Chelsea are on a ⬆️⬆️⬆️ trajectory. Honestly this team are still young and improving, imagine what they will become in years to come.
Really great content!
Could you guys do a “sensible January transfers” for Chelsea to get over the line, or truly challenge next year when everyone strengthens and there’s more parity with European competitions?
A few depth options are logical but a “take the next step” is more challenging.
Thanks
come on you blues💙
Don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. I’m happy with top and a cup. Next season is our year
I love the intro music soooo much
Very good video. Great analysist
8:31 I like to know the position of the overhead camera that able to not be blocked by his head lol
Predicted at the start of the season that Sancho would be found out for not being able for the pace and strength of the League. 9 games, taken off 5 times, subbed on 3 times! Delicate lad!
6 G/A in 9 games. Hold that!
@yonasyohannes4652 5 actually, but it doesn't change my point! He nable for the Premier League.
We're not quite there. Obviously need a solid centre back and goalkeeper which has been obvious. I'm just going game by game. Just hope the form continues as long as possible
Basically they've bought talented individuals and lucking out on Palmer, put them in a simple structure to allow them to shine
If it’s so simple how come no other team is able to do it like Chelsea
😂😂 Where was this reasoning last few years, when they were in 10th?
@@jackparrish5380simple doesn’t mean easy. And I mean there are plenty historical examples of teams in simple base tactical structures who succeeded. I mean there’s a reason that people say genius’s love simplicity
They bought 1532 players and bound to eventually buy a team
Very real and that’s what scares most.
WE ARE NOT IN A TITLE CHALLENGE
Finally, We agree! We are not in the title race, we are not complete
Tosin is just a few weeks older than Nkunku, they both turned 27 this fall and won’t be 28 til next season. The squad is extremely young when those are your elder statesmen lol
Where are JJ’s sweaters coming from? Those are fantastic!
JJ is spot on
22:22 "If they were pokemon they'd all be maximum in their second evolution phase" 😂😂
We’re not in a title race but I’ll be delighted if we came 1st
It’s too early to predict the title race. Injuries and fatigue play a massive part.
While I'm at it, 1) shout out to Cole Palmer
2) We're NOT in a title race, we just want 3 points 😊
Just to be clear, while Lavia did get hit in the head Maresca said the sub was for tactical reasons and not because he was injured. Apparently Lavia is fine.
He announced he was injured a day after the game. Hamstring.
Mareska is also turning from a mere coach to a manager.
no one ever talks about how Malo Gusto is "bad taste" in Italian.
In Serbian it's "a little dense"
In Bengali lot of beef meat
Interesting take... one point of clarification, Chelsea qualified for the Europa league by position but lost it due to Man Utd winning the FA cup.
Truly, Chelsea isn't in the title race, I support that analysis even though I do not support how you guys arrived at it. Here are my thoughts on the analysis in this video
That gk spot is what is gonna cost us the league , we send our best gk on loan and put Sanchez as n1.
Ask Petrovic to do what Sanchez is asked to do in build up and he will make even more mistakes.
We don’t need any new cb, just bring back chalobah and you’ll see the improvement
Thought it was cool when the editor inverted the picture lol
We are a young horse that needs to grow till we are capable of a title race. Rn we just need to focus on the next game and the 3 points.
Please who have an idea what the name of the screen and pan presentation monitor they are using?
Doing well but yeah not ready to win anything but getting CL would be a great improvement.
once again i almost didn’t watch this thinking it was the other podcast, would’ve watched it immediately if i’d known. yall should really work on the branding
TLDW; They are not in the championship fight as Maresca told, they are just happy to get 3 points and focus on the next game
We are far too shaky at the back to be title contenders
Loving that CFS mexico jumper
Who is the player in the frame behind Jon
Need the Mexico Navidad Sweater. JJ where's the link? Does anybody know? Please
