  • Fourth Annual Severe Weather Awareness Day
    Science Spectrum
    Lubbock, Texas February 27, 2010
A series of 9 interviews from this event. This is an annual event sponsored by:
*Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society at Texas Tech
    *KCBD NewsChannel 11
I participated in this event bringing out the storm chase vehicle to demonstrate and answer questions about severe weather and storm chasing. Texas Tech had on hand a wide variety of weather demonstrations and all sorts of cool equipment you can learn more about in this video series.
The National Weather Service also gave guided tours of their adjacent offices and presented a Storm Spotter class. The Red Cross was on hand with information as well as the South Plains Storm Spotter team.
Kids young and old alike were able to get their fill of weather related activities and then go and watch the IMAX film Storm Chasers in the IMAX Theater.

He nailed it on the head as far as separation between the charges. Definitely noticeable how the higher storm bases have more intense lightning. Good vid.
