"Haboob" and "dust storm" are both correct. A haboob is a type of dust storm generated by a downward wind spike that puffs dust up instead stripping it off of the surface. But saying "it's a dust storm, not a haboob" is like saying "I don't drive a sedan, I drive an automobile"
