In Biblical times, the age gap was even greater. Older men would often marry women barely out of their teens, because that left more time for them to have babies and raise a family. The whole notion of an "unjust disparity" is mostly a modern concept.

There has never been an “imbalance of power” , we get along great, we contribute to each others lives, we share the same values and beliefs and we’re both very much in love and plan to be married. Im happy for you. My wife was 30 when we met. I was 47. So we had a 17 year gap but it was never ever an issue. It actually enriched us culturally since, for example, we shared music from different eras. In the end, things didn’t work out but, again, it wasn’t the age gap.
One amusing story where age perhaps got in the way: when her sister got married, all the couples were in their early 40s while I was in my mid 50s. I was getting tired, having helped set the wedding up, driving and picking things up. Then came the wedding and then the reception and then everyone wanted to go clubbing. Well, I’ll admit, I was ready to go to the hotel and crash but I refused to be the one to slow the party down. In the end, I was the last man standing. Danced the night away but I was so happy to get back to my hotel bed. 😂

My husband and I met just over two years ago when he was 41 and I was 20 & 1/2. Got engaged after 10 months, married 3 months after that, and now I'm currently 6m pregnant with our first and could not be happier. His fantastic genetics had me thinking he was early 30's when we met, and after learning his age when asking a couple weeks into talking, I was able to think through the future and know that my time with him would be more limited, but none of us truly know how much time we'll be blessed with with our spouses anyways. Our goals aligned as well. He always wanted kids but all of the women in his past couldn't carry, and I knew I wanted kids with him before we even discussed it and his age and financial position allows us to do that on one income before our kids go to school. When I was younger, I didn't know life could be this beautiful and so full of happiness, and I thank God for my loving & caring husband every day. We were both adults when we met and age gaps don't have be seen as a certain way or portrayed as disgusting. People tend to see something that makes them uncomfortable and try to ruin it
As someone who has a 17 year age gap and been married for 20 years now, this is annoying. People used to make comments about my husband “robbing the cradle” and it made me mad because they knew nothing about us and just judged. I have always been an old soul and he was always younger at heart. We we’re friends first for a long time and he didn’t even realize our age gap was that much because I was always mature and looked older too. When we realized we had feelings for each other wasn’t weird at all! He wasn’t a creep! He broke up with me briefly when he realized the age gap because he was worried about it. That didn’t last long though because we just made too much sense together to be apart! It was only people that didn’t know us that tried to make it weird. I don’t expect everyone to understand, I really don’t care to be honest. We are happy and that’s all that matters.
My brother has an age gap with his wife (her being older), her daughter is my age actually. They never had children together because she already had her tubes tied before they started dating. My husband’s cousin has a very similar story with his wife. They’ve all been together a long time.

There was a 26 year gap between me and my husband. He was the love of my life, after being widowed I never remarried because there was no other man who could have treated me as good or better than he did. He was my biggest supporter, he was a hard worker, he took me and my two sons and raised them as his own with no support from their bio father. He was just an amazing man I was blessed to have him in my life for 20 years before he died of cancer. The age difference just seemed to disappear we had so much in common. Anyone who met him just loved him. So just respect her choices she is old enough and has had enough of an adult life to know what she wants in a husband.
