- By means of a magic ticket dropped by a kid, the villain in a movie is able to phase into real-life. Used to police instantly arriving after wrong-doing where he is from, he finds things different, and to his liking, in reality.
Missed opportunity for the villian to become the hero out of sheer disgust for how awful the real world actually is.
That would have been so cool to see
The film was made yearly 90s, the cold war was over & everybody was hopeful about the future. Of course now looking back your idea would've made sense. Then again sometimes I think Mad Max is preferable to the real world
Little did anyone realize that he would end up using the ticket to travel to Westeros...
+The Verruckt Man ...a criminally under-used brilliant actor typecast into two-bit villain roles.
The moment where the fun send up of action flicks becomes scathing real world commentary and it is far too good :)
This is not a movie, this is an average Brit when visiting NY.
Definitely one of THE best movie lines ever. Delivered by Charles Dance makes it 10 times better:

I lived in New York for 2 years so I can assure you that this is quite correct.I thought all the stories about how dangerous it was and how many homeless people and rats were an exaggeration.
And the pair of stolen shoes are visible again in the background at 1:59.

@@dylanjonhson3302 I just happened to spot it once some years back. Me and some friends like a decade ago were having a few beers and watching movies together, and I caught it. Had them rewind the DVD to double check and we all had a laugh at it.

I never really could figure out what exactly he was going for here, what the “theory” was he was testing.
Dave Eckert he was testing how fast the police would show up (in his movie universe the time they showed up to arrest him would’ve been near instant, but since this takes place in our reality nobody cares that he’d just murdered somebody).

The tens of thousands of calls police attend a day and only a handful end up going wrong... The problem with alot of people is, that folks dont know the true value of a service until it is gone.
