Great having the boys together working. Great show. Really liked Dad getting involved making it right just like he has done probably so many times before.
It really helps him. He can’t stand very long, and gets nervous about being out because he might not be near a chair. This helps him always have a seat with him.
Love that planter! Old technology that WORKS! A little adjustment here and there when needed. Unlike the new stuff that requires knowing when to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE
Awesome little planter. Cole has been the undefeated, stand alone, quick hitch planter for several generations here in the south. I've seen several single row JD and Kinze planters farmers rigged up for the sole purpose of sweet corn and sun flower seed.
That is a perfect sized tool for small farm gardens, test plots, etc. I love the looks on their faces when they got to play with something familiar. You could see the wheels turning as to where they might be able to use such a tool. All of them look like they want to borrow it to try out a few things on some small unused patches of land.
TTWT as I have said in the past, I really enjoy your videos but the one's with Pa are the best! (always reminds me of my dad) You can tell Tom and Randall are some good guys. Great family, cherish every moment!! God Bless! Enjoying seeing all the new bigger tractors too, I just added to my tractor family with a John Deere 2150 to help with the John Deere 40's we have.
Holy cow the old DickeyJohn monitor. Been a looong time since I seen one of those. That 7000 series planter was good stuff. I remember we had an 8-row JD 71 Flex-planter as well, it was a much slower process than the plate-less 7000.
Funny, just a few days ago I was thinking I’d like a landscape rake, but on the front of my tractor. Did some research and found that Artillian 3 point hitch adapter for my fork frame. So glad I went with the Artillian forks because that frame is so useful for other things. Good advice from TTWT!
That was a fun video to watch! My parents and grandparents were farmers but I never learned to farm. When I would have been old enough to learn my parents were done farming and on to other careers. This was my first glimpse into seeing how to setup a planter so I thought it was very interesting. I remember my dad selling his John Deere planter.
that 7000 row unit was one of the first to have plateless technology. earlier plate corn planters had replaceable plates for each size kernel of seed corn. yes the kernels were bagged alike, when you changed kernel size you had to change to the correct size plate. this planter has fingers that bypassed the need for graded seed, read that as cheaper seed. also this planter had an elevator to lower each seed so they didn't bounce around and get two or more seeds where you want one (singularity as randy says). also you can place a herbicide and insecticide hopper behind the seed hopper if you so choose. also a chain that drags behind the closing wheels to help cover the seed trench. this row unit is the small block chevy of corn planters. 50 years old and you can still get accessories for it and new ideas are still being made for it. great video, loads of info for the tiny farmer. my dad had a 495A and then a 7000 when they first came out. the technology leap was gigantic at the time. we added the row monitor when it came out. man we were miles ahead of the neighbors back then. lol
494A, right? There was one series in between, with plateless technology. The 4 row was a 1240. The 8 row which dad had was a 1280. The 7000 had a better plateless system, but the max emerge disks and press wheels were miles ahead of the 12x0 series. Like you say, this is/was the most popular unit available.
It took me way to long to notice the 5075e, then again I did go on a successful leek hunt. We had a 5075m as a loaner last spring w/o the loader, the swivel seat was amazing!!!!
That will come into play for me in about 5 Years. I have been saving corn seeds for about a couple of years. This corn you can eat off the cob uncooked
Nice to have family around. Nicer to know what they're talking about. You need two types of corn. One sweet, one popcorn. So, now it's question time. I think in unusual ways. Since that planter is one row only, can you plant in a circular pattern? That way, when those satellites from way up there shoot pictures of your property, people could go, what!!!!!?????. I look forward to your videos, your number 1 here, actually tied. Mr. Ritter is up there too. Wish he'd put out more. But, oh well. Nice video. May GOD bless you and your family.
hahaha yes! I knew in the first video of the 2038R that the tractor in the backround was a 5 series! And its a 5075E! Cant wait to see your projects with this big boy!:D I love your channel!:)
Wow .You sure are lucky to have family who have experience in farm equipment . A rooky like me would be lost from the get go . Can't imagine these guys who plant thousands of acres of corn and wheat with those huge planters . You don't learn this stuff from any book .
Tim, I'm really excited you did these last 2 videos. I have thought about getting one of these planters for awhile now, but wasn't sure because I know of several different places that builds these, but the others seemed like they were just doing it in their garage. I wasnt aware of J.O.Harris. I am definitely going to give them a call about a two row sweet corn planter to replace my old 2 row JD 246 plate planter that was wore out and I just sold it for parts. Thanks again, looking forward to seeing how it works for you. As I recall down in your area you're usually planting about 3 or 4 weeks ahead of us in western Pa, if its dry enough. It was good to see the rest of the family there to give you a hand in setting that beast up.
I do know this much about that particular machine it has been a blessing to this organization and we are in the process now of purchasing our second 5075e awesome awesome awesome tractor for its size
Great to see you guys all together and see your dad doing good ! that should work nice and hope you honked as you went by up north ! LOL and what up with the 5075e that looks nice and i see you have some thing under tarp ! LOL have a great day ! Curt :-)
Tim’s a little out of his league there. Them boys is real farmers. And dad has a PHD in farming I can’t see how you could get any more knowledge about farming than what is gathered there. Just love it
Sure beats planting a acre of sweetcorn with a Earthway hand planter like I have done several times .I bought a White air planter years ago to do that to . But I never got around to do it .
well u answered my question about it being I-Match compatible from where u bought it at-huh. didn't seem all that bad to make it work-oh. i'dl almost drive out to eat some of sweet corn when it comes ready to pull. ha! great video--and loving ur new toy too. lol
RETIRED. Four rail fence around 1 1/2 area next door with flood irrigation twice month in summer. Actually planted alfalfa cut, rake and bail 300 2 wire bails for around 5 years, it was fun. Would like to plant corn, but first have to figure out what do with all that corn. Look forward to your thoughts, to help with my adventures. Oh, by the way, my son has Computer Science degree, I've coded for fun sense the 80s and still do at 75 this year. Edit: Good Video.
Wow wow wow hold up what’s the big daddy Johnny in the shed!!!!! I’m so jealous now I want one like that so bad. Love the videos keep em coming. How’s the corn season going for y’all
I guess we finally found out what tractor was on your trailer in the background of the “Finally a Bigger Tractor” video. It’s the 5075e at 10:17 in this video. They both have the same grapple. Now hurry up and make some videos with it 👍🏻
Just don't ever back up with it down or set it down in mud while stopped. Those are the 2 pointers I can say bout it. We have used a 6 row 7000 JD planter & just a couple years ago a 12 row 7000 JD took it's place. Our row units & chain drives are identical so if you ever have any maintenance issue I could probably help too. Great planter & very "user friendly".
Looks like a great planter. How do you work out the row spacing? Your tractor tires and drive wheels? Looks like a wide row spacing. But I'm typing during the video. I want one 👍🇺🇸
I love how you guys find a way to incorporate your father and his wisdom into a lot of videos...... we need more of your father and his wisdom

Got a love when family comes together especially when it’s all around the tractor
I love your dad's walking stick/ chair. I've never seen one like it. Thank you, have a blessed night
It really helps him. He can’t stand very long, and gets nervous about being out because he might not be near a chair. This helps him always have a seat with him.
Good to see Dad still getting around. Thank you for letting us enjoy him and your family.
The brothers working things out, a little kiddin going on, and Dad keeping everybody in line. Good times.

Tim your Dad is a good supervisor
My dad is good at many things!

Always great to have friends or family that can lend an experienced hand! Great video Tim!
Watching you put that on Johnny just made me think of the old show, Home Improvement, with Tim Allen. "More power! Arr Arr Arr!" Lol!
Great video!! I could watch you guys all day. You got a good old man there, Tim, that's for sure
Awesome little planter. Cole has been the undefeated, stand alone, quick hitch planter for several generations here in the south. I've seen several single row JD and Kinze planters farmers rigged up for the sole purpose of sweet corn and sun flower seed.
Good to see your Dad in there! Still a wealth of knowledge!! That is a dandy sweet corn planter!! Great video .....
You have a good family Tim.
Yes. Great family!
Glad to see those farm boys, your Dad's cane&seat combo is pretty darn cool so is your planter there Tim!

Nice to see the guy's and the professional set up! Thats a nice setup.
That is a perfect sized tool for small farm gardens, test plots, etc. I love the looks on their faces when they got to play with something familiar. You could see the wheels turning as to where they might be able to use such a tool. All of them look like they want to borrow it to try out a few things on some small unused patches of land.
That’s quite a crew you’ve got
Now that my dad has passed away, these videos with him are even more special!!

Happy Birthday @@TractorTimewithTim we share the same month...

One of my favorited videos thanks for sharing
Love it way to call in the experts. God bless

It is really fun to all the family farmers together. Lots of brain power there.

Great video. You got a good family there Tim! Also, I don't know why the lubricity bit was so funny to me but it had me LOL.
Ha! We tried this video last spring, and Tom couldn’t say ‘Lubricity’. So we just kept forcing him to say it.
@@TractorTimewithTimI think I remember that one. Good times!
Great video! Your dad is still very wise.
We need to see a video next week on all your new toys!!!
Yes. I think it is time!
I bought a 2 row off of a guy that builds them up in west central Wi. Love mine cant wait to get to be able to get planting sweet corn and popcorn
That is a top shelf planter
tell them all i said hi and be safe this year on the farm
Nice planter tim and good job, and the family together 👍👍
Is that dad, older brother and younger brother? That's really cool you get to have a little farm equipment to remind you of the big farm.
Dad, older brother, and older brother’s son (my nephew).

We upgraded to the air seat! :-)
Ohhh jealous! Have Tom/Randall figured out where they want to use it first when they borrow it 🤣
First serious project is planned for the Marks farm. They don’t have a grapple, so they have a very large project in mind!
That will come into play for me in about 5
Years. I have been saving corn seeds for about a couple of years. This corn you can eat off the cob uncooked
Great job enjoyed that!!! Nothing wrong with experience!!
Nice! Johnny 5 in the house (shop)! Can’t wait to see the videos on that!

Tom Scott Clever idea with planting circles. I like it.

@@mwilliamshs BIBLE ... What book did you learn TROLL from ???
Probably meant rookie?
I want to see you plant with it like that! Lol make life interesting
Yea, would be hard to follow that row!!
Can't wait to see it in action.
Nothing like having knowledge and experience. Hope you have a bumper crop this year.

Nice looking 5 Series tractor
seems like you guys were having too much fun playing with the planter LOL :)
How's the 5000 series in the background looking
That SHURE is a nice looking 5075e sitting there in the background, I think it might make a great video topic for us guys with a bit LARGER JOHNNY
We’ll show it next week. Hopefully we can use it to help folks decide what size is best for them.
I do know this much about that particular machine it has been a blessing to this organization and we are in the process now of purchasing our second 5075e awesome awesome awesome tractor for its size

We have to use the tarp because you guys have eagle eyes!!!
Since you have so many tractors right now you should send one my way, just kidding awesome videos keep it up thanks for the videos
Tim’s a little out of his league there. Them boys is real farmers. And dad has a PHD in farming I can’t see how you could get any more knowledge about farming than what is gathered there. Just love it
I just try to pick up a few crumbs of knowledge as I watch them!
What's a PHD?
Great video!
How many Marx does it take to set up the new planter? The entire family. Great instructions and family time.
tim you had me worried, planning from the front? Glad to see you were just moving it!
Sure beats planting a acre of sweetcorn with a Earthway hand planter like I have done several times .I bought a White air planter years ago to do that to . But I never got around to do it .
Can’t wait to see you make a garden and use the planter can you plant corn 🌽 by hand for a small garden.
Have you seen our prior sweet corn planting episodes? We’ve almost always done it by hand.
I have watched everyone of ttwt videos

More detail tomorrow 3pm.
Have you thought of getting a hydraulic top link? Id like to see an install/use of one, i dont use my 3 point enough to justify it on our old ford
I have one on mine. Make adjustments easy. Just move a lever and I can adjust a box blade or any other three point
Want to know how to fix something ask a farmer!
Amen! I learned a lot of how things work from my dad, who grew up on a farm.
Yeah no kidding you know why because they are independent
Just don't ever back up with it down or set it down in mud while stopped. Those are the 2 pointers I can say bout it. Hey Tim. Why didn't you use the adjustable wrench and tape measure from your tractor toolbox? Hard to believe you don't keep those two tools in there.
I keep adjustable in the toolbox, but not tape measure.
5075 were we supposed to see it. Like the grapple on it
Just another tease :-)
Looks like a great planter. How do you work out the row spacing? Your tractor tires and drive wheels? Looks like a wide row spacing. But I'm typing during the video. I want one 👍🇺🇸
