- I swore I'd never do this. But, I did it out of curiosity more than anything else. Plus I wouldn't dare upgrade an actual Gibson because it kills the value. I have plans for this one. I may refret it and change all the parts out along with relicing it even more. Plus, I know I can make this thing play great one way or another. Basically, if the neck was straight and it was somewhat playable, I'd dive right in. The quality is pretty good, not great. But it can be made that way. Stay tuned for more videos on this process.

ordered my first chibson few days ago....a 58 reissue VOS lemon burst . (fret nibs , kluson tuners (fakes) , rosewood neck , cts pots, aged nitro finish , ab 1 bridge , winged headstock , correct looking logos and plates)
i notice just like yours, one of the things they dont get correct is the position of the volume and tone knobs...or the pickup rings.
if you look at the volume pot nearest to the tail peice, its meant to be slightly off centre and behind the tail peice...not in line with it.
I noticed a lot of the chibsons out there seem to not cut the holes properly to a gibsons spec, i dont know why when they go to all the trouble of getting the headstock right (on some of them)
and the correct logos and plates for custom shop clones.
almost went for a greeny myself..perhaps next time , once i find one with the correct knob layout.

Absolutely! Why spend thousands? Just mod a Chibson. If they are slightly off, you can make them great players for cheap.

Custim Shops are NEVER stamped, only Gibson USA does that. Custom Shop only inks the Serial number. The greeny also doesnt use Grovers.
Yes, I plan on upgrading it completely. New bridge, pickups, Tuners, wiring, pots and switch.

How long did it take to get it?
A week. Not long at all. If you're going to order one from them make sure that it is in stock and doesn't say that it's in China.

I'll test them. I'm sure there is lead in them. I just watched the Guitar Max guy on this. Getting the lead tester to test it.
I never understood wanting a guitar so fake the tuners are even labeled with a fake brand. Totally get wanting a Greeny and with a few mods can be a solid player but I would not touch it or play it given the possibility someone down the road might believe its the real deal
True, but I'm not selling it. I was curious about the quality. I'm about to check the frets for lead. Guitar Max discovered some of the Chinese copies are using frets with lead in them.
@@guitarhustlerdan You could easily have REPLICA stamped on the back of the headstock and inside a pickup cavity because at some point it will be up for sale the do outlive humans. As for lead I doubt there is enough for any concern. The avg garden hose is probably bringing higher levels.
