It was the fall of 1983. I was living in the dorm at college, a freshman. There were two seniors, both architect majors. One of them had a huge stereo system. Next thing I know this song is blasting. It was officially “dorm stereo wars.” I will never forget them playing this song at full blast. The ‘80s were a great time to have went through HS and college.
Guitarist even had some of that good ol' "brown" sound. Nice!

Tony's playing Ludwigs, like Alex did, except he's using roto-toms instead of rack toms. I thought they sounded good.

For years I have always hear music guys talk about how the drum riff was over dubbed and it was ipossible to get that complex syncopation without some type of digital help...Tony proved that trac was real and amazing.

There is only one thing I would do to make this even more authentic, if that's possible. Give Tony Hammons, the drummer real glass bottles to make the sound. To his credit, he clanked them at the right moment. He was awesome, as usual!
Well, I'll have to favorite and watch multiple times yet another LLB video. On point, and until this cover I had never noticed the intensity and cadence of the bass line. 🔥
Yet Michael Anthony was criticized by EVH and defended by Sammy Hagar. Dude was good and THIS cover is good.
They always smothered his bass on studio recordings. Michael is a class act for tolerating the BS that was always thrown at him.
I recall seeing a video where the original drum intro was done with two recordings at a different beat. Either track was insane on its own. This drummer is doing a fabulous job.

The thing was I was dating a high school teacher at the time and found out some disappointing news about her extra-cirricular activity. Wow, what a year. Didn't last long, but all I can say is I'll never forget it. Class Dismissed!!!!!!
