I put a brand new Rack in a 2018 Ford Explorer. Im trying to program the Module. Its asking for a 7 digit number.. Where do I get that? Im using Autel MS919
@@JVFIXLLC How will I know if it needs to be programmed, I replaced it and there was an ABS code but that was it something about low voltage. Using forscan after the ABS code was cleared there are no other codes. I'm new with forscan also sorry.

yea you need to calibrate it with a scanner, the option is gonna be in the abs module or steering control module but you need a scanner to access it. do you have any?
@@JVFIXLLC i have forscan on my laptop i put the as built data and nothing changed, the nain problem is that my steering wheel is a bit heavy and sometimes the car brakes on its own saying service advancetrac i really need to fix this issue as soon as possible
@@JVFIXLLC my ford is a ford explorer 2012 limited so it has some features that use the pscm such as adaptive cruise control and auto park so when i replaced my steering rack and pinion these options don't work anymore
@@JVFIXLLC i am afraid that the whole reason for this is that i might have bought the wrong power steering rack and pinion i don't know if there is a difference between XLT and Limited rack and pinion but i hope there are the same
yea the scanners that I use and also love to use is the autel elite and autel im608 nothe are a perfect combination if you are in the automotive repair industry.

u can get a used part and there is no need to reprogram it the only thing you just do is calibrate the steering wheel only, all units come programmed already just need to calibrate and that's it, u can install it and drive it right away and if you don't have a tool to calibrate it just drive it to a shop and they can do it with a scanner.
when done installation I aligned first the tires by eye because when u remove the tie rods it is never too accurate so yea you will need to align it in a shop after installation
My bad couldn’t find a video on the rack an pinion i was frustrated, my lights turn ofd while parking the next day i had power steering reduce the mechanic saying the rack and pinion is bad so i was trying to do it my self and save the 300 fee lol
@Romerojesus1 ok I yours is electric and what I have seen in these trucks silverados with electric power steering is the that usually the high amp fuse burns so I would check the fuse for the power steering that is located next to the battery
Was this an Oem ford part or was in aftermarket rebuild

the scanner never asked me for that all I did was steering angle reset. the module already comes coded you just need to reset the dynamic steering
Whats the model of the computer youre using to re program the pscm
I use Autel scanners to reprogram or if you have a laptop you can just buy forscan and the adapter for cheap.
I’m have a 2015 as well that needs one. What was the part number from ford? Also do you know if forscan can reprogram the explorers?

you need a scanner and go to live data, there you can exactly see if your steering is centered right

on ebay you can find it I ordered this one from autozone
