My only complaint is the crook ass dealers trying to add $6000-$8000 markups on a vehicle that the manufacturer clearly says is worth way less than what is on the sticker.

Buy one in July 2022 and watch its value drop by 8000 dollars by August when the "NEW" models come out !!! LOL !!!@! @@sylvainlaurence1554 Hondas don't burn oil if you keep changing it regularly. This applies probably to most modern engines anyway, the 3.5L VTEC in my Odyssey has 176k miles and burns no oil. The undercarriage is rusting away unfortunately due to road salt, but mechanically it runs almost like new. These Ford EcoBoost engines at 60k miles those intake valves are toast. Why Ford didn't install either fuel injectors at the back of the valves, or a PCV cleaner can system is beyond my understanding.

I currently own a Honda fit ..... yes I installed sound insulation , yes I installed better speakers , yes I installed a Garman holder , I wish my windows were a bit slower ..... is the interior great ? nope it was 18,400 out the door .... I am thinking about the maverick , my concern is mostly about the engine durability and if a plug in model is coming in 2023 .... anyway nice job !

Just looked at another Ford Maverick at a local dealer. It was a FWD Lariat. The interior was nice except for the dead elephant gray headliner. In fact all 3 models have that easy to stain, ugly gray headliner. Can't understand why any manufacturer would use ugly gray headliners. But I'm sure they must save at least 5 cents a liner foot... Anyway, Lariats can cost upward of $36,000 without AMD, so not such a great buy at that price point. The outside of all 3 models look pretty nice. However, when I looked under the back end I saw the Frame & Suspension materials looked too week to be on a road going car, much less a truck. Wonder what 3 years in the snow belt with all the corrosion from salt is going to do to these things. The worse thing I saw was several welds on the rear wheel suspension area (both sides) that looked like they were make by trade school students with a whole 5 minutes of training... How those welds passed inspection is... Oh that's right they're made in Mexico. Neverminid. I've seen both the gas and hybrid engines. It's sad that they both looked so messy. Wires and tubes going everywhere and nowhere. It's not going to be fun or cheap to work on these engines. Sort of like they were designed in about 20 minutes by rejects from Ray Charles Engineering & Music School. With the cheap contruction, someones going to make a forture on replacement parts for these things. The base model is a $16,000 trucklet that Ford is advertising for $20.000 but good luck buying one for less than $28500. Way too many Stealerships are in full blown ADM bend over and take it mode. But if you can get one at or below list price and are just using it to get your groceries you'll be okay. Just don't pretend it's a real truck and try to use it as one because something is going to break. If you tow anything regularly look at the Ranger, F150 and the Explorer (now RWD! YEAH!) Full desclosure: I own Ford stock. I'm a mechanic and I hate FWD platforms.
Appreciate your video. I wanted a smaller simpler truck so I don't expect it to be equipped like a luxury vehicle. I did want a few more things than the base so I ordered a hybrid XLT with a spray in bed, full size spare, and floor trays. I wanted cruise, power mirrors, and an interior other than black. From the videos I have watched I should be very happy with my Maverick.
You will be very happy with it! I ordered mine in June 2021 and it was delivered 2/1/22 (Lariat hybrid). I'm still really pleased and continuously impressed. Good luck with yours!
Only ordered my Lariat with all the bells and whistles with auto drive assist but will disable for myself. Only bought it for future sale value to an Iphone user....
Dont buy the factory spray bed llner. It's only warranted for 3 years. Buy Linex for lifetime warranty. Linex does cost more but not by much. Truck comes with a switch to turn off autostart. But you have to turn it off every time you turn on ignition. I keep mine on, and if your soft on the brakes it hardly every kicks in. There is a dedicated phone spot in the bottom tray. And with the Android Auto or Apple car play, you just view on the "radio screen" I to do not find the vehicle overly noisy. But getting a quiet vehicle is less stressfull. So I've added a matt under the hood, which helped and will do acoustic mats in the interior latter. But DYI projects. Your photos of the lowered truck, look awesome. Wish you were up here on Vancouver island Canada. Ive subscribed, eh.
Nice job on the video Clint, I Have had mine for a couple weeks now and so far I love it, most of my driving is very local city driving, 3 miles to work etc. I got the Lariat (2.0 gas⛽) and 250HP its quick enough to get in and out of traffic, the shifter is a little strange at 1st but guys like us that grew up with mechanical linkage tend to slam things into position even after it's switched to electrical technology. Probably built for us So we don't break it off, mine has a dedicated wireless cell phone charger right there, that other guy must have got the cheapest one, and the rest of the complaints are really petty, If you go price a, Lighting, Raptor or F-150 hybrid with all the accessories I got your up in the 70-90K region, mine cost about 35K so I look at it like I got a New truck that's a little bit smaller, a little bit less power and a few things made a little cheaper for HALF-PRICE !!!
MSRP for my lariat lux, FX4, and 4K tow package was $38,990 not sure why it is always referred to as a 20K truck all depends what you ordered. Nobody calls the F150 a 36K truck even though that is the entry level price.

part of it swings for the majority in saying "20k truck" since the average consumer will probably keep their maverick spec'd at or just under 30k otd, so a more accurate generalization would sit at "25-30k truck"
$20,000 vehicle. Cheaply made with cheap materials that folks are willing to pay easily in excess of $30,000. Dealer markups and all. I've seen a dealer markup of over $26,000

If you are towing all the time and buy a Maverick you made the wrong choice. It's for people who normally would get a car or suv and want something with more utility. Like me, I'm replacing a Civic si with a Maverick (if it ever shows up)
I have slammed that Maverick hexagonal drivers door into my head now. Almost concussion. After 35 years of vertical door jam Rangers, I can't stand where I have always stood to open and close the door.
I have the Ecosport with stop start.I always turn it off. I HATE it at a stop sign which is stupid at a stop sign. Red light sure but stop sign dumb . BUT many complaints it doesn't have this or that. Well pay more to get that crap.
I work at a Ford dealership in the service department. Been planning on ordering one. You can't until late August. Ford paused orders because they can't meet the demand. Hoping I can make my order for a lariat. Not a lot of stuff in this price range that this car-truck can do. However calling it a truck, is funny to me. It's based on the escape and it's a unibody design. It's more like a CUV with a bed. It drives like a car, which is great. Reminds me of the Utes in Australia. It's perfect for me. A lot of offroad trails in my area are pretty light. This should be able to handle it with a lift and aftermarket wheels.
ordered mine at the 19k price, Added the Co pilot package and tow package. went up to 23 k. 11 Months later when I went to pick it up they tried to add 10 k in bullshit fees. Then try to rearrange the financing which I had already taken care of. In the end I wrote a check for 23.5K and went down a financed it thru my credit union. Car salesmen are such snakes.
I feel like a lot of these were reaching for something to complain about and like you said, it's a cheap ~$20k truck. I am going to put in a 2023 order when they open and I can't wait to get one.
Headrest I’ve always turned them around. I haven’t received this truck yet still in production and waiting on it. But I planned on doing that to it also if can be done.
I agree at the base point you get what you paid for ( basic content) for low entry price. Once you ad 15K for a decent equipped Lariat there should be more higher end content, one simple thing as an engine cover like on the Bronco Sport for noise reduction. I test drove one and did not like the dial shifter, would much prefer a push button on dash or push button on centre console like the Ridgeline. Performance was just average, and I have always had above in all my vehicles. Ford has a 2.3 with 310 hp and 350 lbft torque which would give a power to weight ratio similar to the F150 with 3.5 EcoBoost which would give same driving experience if down sizing to the Maverick.
Ok, so we have a Maverick Hybrid XLT with a full size spare as the only option. We have had it since Jan 11th and it has been our main use vehicle when driving around town. We have taken it on 2 road trips as well. We honestly have not experienced any of the things people are complaining about except one. The speakers do suck, BUT.....we play Sirius/XM using the Sirius/XM APP and the speakers sound great.(you have to have a subscription to Sirius/XM) I don't know why they sound better but they do. I have a 2020 Hyundai Tucson Sport AWD that cost about $10,000 more than OUR Maverick and some of the complaints that people have that you keep saying is because it is a $20,000 truck, my Hyundai has. Of course, to me they are not a problem. The front driver window is the only auto one just like the Maverick. The road "noise" is about the same in both vehicles but not a problem. There is no dedicated spot for a cell phone in my car but in the Maverick, you can set your phone upright in the angled spot above and to the right of the circular shifter. I could go on and on but I think I made my point. You can not please everyone and that is becoming more so as time goes on.
There is no way start / Stop technology doesn't put unnecessary wear on your engine and drive train? Shut off switch should have been included or at the very least an option.
I love that most of the answers were a mix of "Yeah, that's true on all modern cars" and "Yeah, what do you expect for the low sticker price". The mention of the auto-highbeam reminds me back in the early days of that feature being available. I was borrowing my parent's car that had that feature (I honestly don't remember the make or model) and I was chuckling to myself when driving down an empty highway that the highly reflective road signs were enough to trip the auto-dimmer feature. At the time I was amused.
I hope to get ordered a 2023 XLT hybrid luxury package. Currently in a stripped down '93 Geo metro, with power nothing, not even a radio. This truck will have tons of power compared to the Geo Metro.
Anyone who buys a vehicle regardless of the amount should get a good vehicle. I bought the Ford Maverick based on the advertisement of this vehicle. I wasn't concerned about the price, I only wanted a good reliable vehicle. I think that I should not have to "take it for what it's worth" it should be worth what I paid for. Fool me once, shame on me but FORD will not fool me twice. My 2002 Ford Escape runs better than my new Ford Maverick!!.

Try having a BASE 1998 Ranger lol. Manual everything, doesn't even have carpet. So this would be like a Caddy pickup if I got even the base model BUT I love my Ranger because it just works. Nothing to break, ultra simple. A/C still works I might add ( about the only option ) lol.

I want to buy a new 4 wheel drive mid size truck. We have owned the Ford Explorer Sport track the last 5 times. Ford stoped making them in 2010,& said they make them in18 or 19 they didnt instead they made once again the Ford Ranger ,apparently thinking it would sell. No comparison 2 the sport track. Mine is11 year old & o still get comments on how it my wife has a 07 both have a little rust. 5000 2 fix both. $ 41000 for a Ranger & it looks cheap & drives cheap. BRING BACK the SPORT TRACK I'll but 2 of them. I gave the 02 to my grandson it has no rust 240000miles runs like a dream . Thanks for listening

I will give you some real complaints if any are worthy of posting when I pick up my Maverick next week. I haven't been spoon fed and spoiled my entire life so I will give you honest complaints! All these complaints go with the price you paid...
Cruise control can be added to the Base Model. See Google. Someone made a video on exactly how to do it. They took the steering wheel off an Escort with Cruise.
Yeah that really pisses me off that in this day and age, even my wife's 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 with a 1.2L three cylinder engine, weighs 2200 lbs. unladen, was $14k brand new (had an alloy wheel package that came with other stuff but the really base model costs less) her car came with cruise control standard. And here you got a $20k+ small truck that can tow 2k-4k lbs. with no cruise as standard. Didn't work out too well, right now there's a Ford dealer on Long Island that's sitting on like, I think 7 or 9 Maverick XLs, all the same color with same and same options, none of them have cruise, the dealer is going to have to start adding cruise control to make these things move.
The adage has always been to never purchase a vehicle during its first year of production. That adage is more relevant these days with vehicles being so complex.
I hope a lot of people buy a Maverick and get all these issues fixed by their complaining. That way when the Maverick is in it's 5th year or final year, whichever comes first, most of the issues will be fixed. I'm a wait and see guy and rarely purchase the first year. Although there is one vehicle I'm considering, and that's the Toyota GR Corolla Hot Hatch. Until then I'll run my Prius for another 5 years. So keep the complaints coming!😁
I was called by my dealership where I ordered my hybrid XLT. They said that they weren't making anymore hybrids in 22 that I would have to wait until 23 to order.
That's what I was told as well by my dealer contact. I ordered mine in early August and will likely not see it until end of summer or early fall. The wait continues!
I appreciate you honesty. They say not to buy in the 1st year. Perhaps that's wise advice, but I also like, you get what you pay for. I want the lariat model but I wanted to wait until dealers have them so I can physically touch and drive them, so....I have to be patient. Keep up the good videos!!!
I have had one for 4 months. No problem with the tranny, it is not slow to downshift unless you are in the Eco-Mode. The Eco-mode will hold it into the higher gears as long as possible. Just keep it in the normal mode or sport mode if you want faster shifting.
First off great video however, I have a few issues you didn't mention. 1. The Air Recirculation does not stay engaged for more than a few minutes. I have to keep engaging it. 2. The dash requires you to click ok for the seatbelts and the ready to drive each time you start the vehicle. 3. The vehicle does not stay in the last drive mode used it keeps reseating to normal I'm going to wear out the mode button! 4. The gas mileage {hybrid} after going to the dealer for its 1st oil change dropped 5 mpg? Did they upgrade the system to reflect the real gas mileage? I do love the truck, but a few things are very annoying and need a software fix.
Good review. I think a lot of complaints are from folks who buy vehicles sight unseen. No test ride. No inspections. So you are bound to hear about issues like this buying a car and preordering it and being a guinea pig.
Wire grommets are not the issue. Watch the videos on my channel to see my catalytic converter glowing red, and the metal shielding around it melted and warped.
I have a hybrid! It’s faster than most hot rods of the sixties! It isn’t made to pull a 30 ft trailer! It has plenty of power for most people. It’s faster top end than my 15 F150 2.7 which shuts off at 104 mph! It’s good for what it’s made for .
Well done. It seems the internet is full of nit pickers. Ford produced a good inexpensive truck. That was number 1. A little bit of Henry Ford, if you will. Most people could get 2 new Mavericks and still have $20,000 extra spending money from buying a new or used large pickup these days.
I remember looking at reviews for the Chevy Avalanche back in 2002. Someone complained that when they filled the bed area with water and mud it leaked into the cabin, and they threw away the useless bed covers. LOL, they were trying to use it like a conventional truck and it wasn’t designed to do that. But people buy cars and don’t understand what they are buying.
I purchased a Maverick and i love it. Have driven the first thousand miles and no real complaints. Considering how expensive trucks are these days , I was thrilled to get a new truck that can tow 4000 lbs with tow package for less than 30K . I got the luxury package and the bigger gas engine with upgraded tow package. My only complaint is that i got the Alto blue and it looks black on cloudy days and a pretty blue on sunny days. It also shows dirt and dust super easy.
I think the price and size of this truck is part of it’s popular appeal. This truck is a great value if you really don’t need something heavier. I think much of your advice is pretty much what do you expect in a budget priced truck! If you need something with more creature comforts buy a loaded F150 for $55k.

I bought a '20 F150 XL, listed for 32K and paid 26K (not happening now). It depends on what you want in a truck. It did come with one touch up/down power windows, mirrors, cruise & laminated door glass (sound deading). You don't have to spend a lot, 55K+. Get what you can afford
A lot of these complaints seem to be base model and hybrid engine based. I’ve had the lariat with the gas engine and lux pack for a month and it is more than capable of towing, has great torque throughout all the gears and is a very comfortable drive with a good audio system. Get whatcha pay for!
What The? A maverick is a dang car man!!! I have a cousin that from Europe. He was was visiting once, he showed my brother and I a pic of his Ford Granada. We looked at his car and told him that ain't no dang Granada. I think it hurt his feels. Poor guy I seemed real funny 😂at the time. Love the videos keepum coming.
There's really no excuse for the crappy window motors and switches. Probably an example of why people buy foreign cars because the imports have managed to figure out how to do such things cheaply and right.
Sometimes opening the door while backing up a trailer to get a better look, especially when in a tight space, is helpful, you can do this in a semi, don't know why Ford added it unless in was mandated by a FMVSS or something.

Nice perspective. The only thing I can add is that there is a button on the console to turn off start stop already on the truck. People are funny.

I love my maverick I have the 2.0 turbo charged plenty of power
I have only driven my fwd ecoboost lariat 250 miles but so far so good.
My rental has the nob turn gear selector. Im ok with it I guess but I prefer it to "lock" as you turn it. Small issue
Appreciate your video. I wanted a smaller simpler truck so I don't expect it to be equipped like a luxury vehicle. I did want a few more things than the base so I ordered a hybrid XLT with a spray in bed, full size spare, and floor trays. I wanted cruise, power mirrors, and an interior other than black. From the videos I have watched I should be very happy with my Maverick.
It really is all about expectations. Own a '20 F150 XL and ordered a hybrid XLT 10/15 for the same reasons
You will be very happy with it! I ordered mine in June 2021 and it was delivered 2/1/22 (Lariat hybrid). I'm still really pleased and continuously impressed. Good luck with yours!

Only ordered my Lariat with all the bells and whistles with auto drive assist but will disable for myself. Only bought it for future sale value to an Iphone user....

Buy Linex for lifetime warranty.
Linex does cost more but not by much.
Truck comes with a switch to turn off autostart. But you have to turn it off every time you turn on ignition.
I keep mine on, and if your soft on the brakes it hardly every kicks in.
There is a dedicated phone spot in the bottom tray. And with the Android Auto or Apple car play, you just view on the
"radio screen"
I to do not find the vehicle overly noisy.
But getting a quiet vehicle is less stressfull. So I've added a matt under the hood, which helped and will do acoustic mats in the interior latter. But DYI projects.

Nice job on the video Clint, I Have had mine for a couple weeks now and so far I love it, most of my driving is very local city driving, 3 miles to work etc. I got the Lariat (2.0 gas⛽) and 250HP its quick enough to get in and out of traffic, the shifter is a little strange at 1st but guys like us that grew up with mechanical linkage tend to slam things into position even after it's switched to electrical technology. Probably built for us So we don't break it off, mine has a dedicated wireless cell phone charger right there, that other guy must have got the cheapest one, and the rest of the complaints are really petty, If you go price a, Lighting, Raptor or F-150 hybrid with all the accessories I got your up in the 70-90K region, mine cost about 35K so I look at it like I got a New truck that's a little bit smaller, a little bit less power and a few things made a little cheaper for HALF-PRICE !!!
MSRP for my lariat lux, FX4, and 4K tow package was $38,990 not sure why it is always referred to as a 20K truck all depends what you ordered. Nobody calls the F150 a 36K truck even though that is the entry level price.
why do we call computer programs ,,,, apps or price is $4.99 some call it 5 bucks some call it over 4 bucks the trucks MSRP is under 20k all vehicle has a base price and most people order the higher packages whens the last time you seen multiple base expeditions with metal rims

part of it swings for the majority in saying "20k truck" since the average consumer will probably keep their maverick spec'd at or just under 30k otd, so a more accurate generalization would sit at "25-30k truck"
You bought 18k in upgrades. The big difference between the xl ans lariat is addons. Still a 20k truck. Thats all.
$20,000 vehicle. Cheaply made with cheap materials that folks are willing to pay easily in excess of $30,000. Dealer markups and all. I've seen a dealer markup of over $26,000

If you are towing all the time and buy a Maverick you made the wrong choice. It's for people who normally would get a car or suv and want something with more utility. Like me, I'm replacing a Civic si with a Maverick (if it ever shows up)

After 35 years of vertical door jam Rangers, I can't stand where I have always stood to open and close the door.
I have the Ecosport with stop start.I always turn it off. I HATE it at a stop sign which is stupid at a stop sign. Red light sure but stop sign dumb . BUT many complaints it doesn't have this or that. Well pay more to get that crap.

I have a maverick, and I have about 150 miles on it ( i know its low), but i absolutely love it!
I work at a Ford dealership in the service department. Been planning on ordering one. You can't until late August. Ford paused orders because they can't meet the demand. Hoping I can make my order for a lariat. Not a lot of stuff in this price range that this car-truck can do. However calling it a truck, is funny to me. It's based on the escape and it's a unibody design. It's more like a CUV with a bed. It drives like a car, which is great. Reminds me of the Utes in Australia. It's perfect for me. A lot of offroad trails in my area are pretty light. This should be able to handle it with a lift and aftermarket wheels.
Let's see what's left of this vehicle after 80k miles.

I almost bought an original Maverick but I was a kid getting ready for college and the Pinto was $300 cheaper.
Currently doing r&d on an aFe cold air intake on my Maverick FX4, coming soon, definitely improved turbo lag and passing power on the freeway.

ordered mine at the 19k price, Added the Co pilot package and tow package. went up to 23 k. 11 Months later when I went to pick it up they tried to add 10 k in bullshit fees. Then try to rearrange the financing which I had already taken care of. In the end I wrote a check for 23.5K and went down a financed it thru my credit union. Car salesmen are such snakes.
I feel like a lot of these were reaching for something to complain about and like you said, it's a cheap ~$20k truck. I am going to put in a 2023 order when they open and I can't wait to get one.

I agree at the base point you get what you paid for ( basic content) for low entry price. Once you ad 15K for a decent equipped Lariat there should be more higher end content, one simple thing as an engine cover like on the Bronco Sport for noise reduction. I test drove one and did not like the dial shifter, would much prefer a push button on dash or push button on centre console like the Ridgeline. Performance was just average, and I have always had above in all my vehicles. Ford has a 2.3 with 310 hp and 350 lbft torque which would give a power to weight ratio similar to the F150 with 3.5 EcoBoost which would give same driving experience if down sizing to the Maverick.
Ok, so we have a Maverick Hybrid XLT with a full size spare as the only option. We have had it since Jan 11th and it has been our main use vehicle when driving around town. We have taken it on 2 road trips as well. We honestly have not experienced any of the things people are complaining about except one. The speakers do suck, BUT.....we play Sirius/XM using the Sirius/XM APP and the speakers sound great.(you have to have a subscription to Sirius/XM) I don't know why they sound better but they do. I have a 2020 Hyundai Tucson Sport AWD that cost about $10,000 more than OUR Maverick and some of the complaints that people have that you keep saying is because it is a $20,000 truck, my Hyundai has. Of course, to me they are not a problem. The front driver window is the only auto one just like the Maverick. The road "noise" is about the same in both vehicles but not a problem. There is no dedicated spot for a cell phone in my car but in the Maverick, you can set your phone upright in the angled spot above and to the right of the circular shifter. I could go on and on but I think I made my point. You can not please everyone and that is becoming more so as time goes on.
There is no way start / Stop technology doesn't put unnecessary wear on your engine and drive train? Shut off switch should have been included or at the very least an option.
I love that most of the answers were a mix of "Yeah, that's true on all modern cars" and "Yeah, what do you expect for the low sticker price". The mention of the auto-highbeam reminds me back in the early days of that feature being available. I was borrowing my parent's car that had that feature (I honestly don't remember the make or model) and I was chuckling to myself when driving down an empty highway that the highly reflective road signs were enough to trip the auto-dimmer feature. At the time I was amused.
I hope to get ordered a 2023 XLT hybrid luxury package. Currently in a stripped down '93 Geo metro, with power nothing, not even a radio. This truck will have tons of power compared to the Geo Metro.

Anyone who buys a vehicle regardless of the amount should get a good vehicle. I bought the Ford Maverick based on the advertisement of this vehicle. I wasn't concerned about the price, I only wanted a good reliable vehicle. I think that I should not have to "take it for what it's worth" it should be worth what I paid for. Fool me once, shame on me but FORD will not fool me twice. My 2002 Ford Escape runs better than my new Ford Maverick!!.

Try having a BASE 1998 Ranger lol. Manual everything, doesn't even have carpet. So this would be like a Caddy pickup if I got even the base model BUT I love my Ranger because it just works. Nothing to break, ultra simple. A/C still works I might add ( about the only option ) lol.

I want to buy a new 4 wheel drive mid size truck. We have owned the Ford Explorer Sport track the last 5 times. Ford stoped making them in 2010,& said they make them in18 or 19 they didnt instead they made once again the Ford Ranger ,apparently thinking it would sell. No comparison 2 the sport track. Mine is11 year old & o still get comments on how it my wife has a 07 both have a little rust. 5000 2 fix both. $ 41000 for a Ranger & it looks cheap & drives cheap. BRING BACK the SPORT TRACK I'll but 2 of them. I gave the 02 to my grandson it has no rust 240000miles runs like a dream . Thanks for listening

Yeah that really pisses me off that in this day and age, even my wife's 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 with a 1.2L three cylinder engine, weighs 2200 lbs. unladen, was $14k brand new (had an alloy wheel package that came with other stuff but the really base model costs less) her car came with cruise control standard. And here you got a $20k+ small truck that can tow 2k-4k lbs. with no cruise as standard. Didn't work out too well, right now there's a Ford dealer on Long Island that's sitting on like, I think 7 or 9 Maverick XLs, all the same color with same and same options, none of them have cruise, the dealer is going to have to start adding cruise control to make these things move.
The adage has always been to never purchase a vehicle during its first year of production. That adage is more relevant these days with vehicles being so complex.
I hope a lot of people buy a Maverick and get all these issues fixed by their complaining. That way when the Maverick is in it's 5th year or final year, whichever comes first, most of the issues will be fixed. I'm a wait and see guy and rarely purchase the first year. Although there is one vehicle I'm considering, and that's the Toyota GR Corolla Hot Hatch. Until then I'll run my Prius for another 5 years. So keep the complaints coming!😁

I was called by my dealership where I ordered my hybrid XLT. They said that they weren't making anymore hybrids in 22 that I would have to wait until 23 to order.
That's what I was told as well by my dealer contact. I ordered mine in early August and will likely not see it until end of summer or early fall. The wait continues!

I appreciate you honesty. They say not to buy in the 1st year. Perhaps that's wise advice, but I also like, you get what you pay for. I want the lariat model but I wanted to wait until dealers have them so I can physically touch and drive them, so....I have to be patient. Keep up the good videos!!!

I have had one for 4 months. No problem with the tranny, it is not slow to downshift unless you are in the Eco-Mode. The Eco-mode will hold it into the higher gears as long as possible. Just keep it in the normal mode or sport mode if you want faster shifting.
So if im driving and i open the door the car will switch to park???
I never thought of that next time I get something in with that safety system I'm goin to give it a try

Correction the F150 starts at 29K so is it a cheap truck, depends how you order it same as the maverick.
The Auto-Park door open feature will come in handy for those road rage incidences so your car don't just roll into the ditch. XD
First off great video however, I have a few issues you didn't mention.
1. The Air Recirculation does not stay engaged for more than a few minutes. I have to keep engaging it.
2. The dash requires you to click ok for the seatbelts and the ready to drive each time you start the vehicle.
3. The vehicle does not stay in the last drive mode used it keeps reseating to normal I'm going to wear out the mode button!
4. The gas mileage {hybrid} after going to the dealer for its 1st oil change dropped 5 mpg? Did they upgrade the system to reflect the real gas mileage?
I do love the truck, but a few things are very annoying and need a software fix.

Good review. I think a lot of complaints are from folks who buy vehicles sight unseen. No test ride. No inspections. So you are bound to hear about issues like this buying a car and preordering it and being a guinea pig.

When you start your truck to let it warm up and close the door and they all lock randomly that's pretty frustrating
If you're buying the cheap model this is all fine. Not a great buy loaded up or paying stealership markups
Wire grommets are not the issue. Watch the videos on my channel to see my catalytic converter glowing red, and the metal shielding around it melted and warped.
E shift knobs are stupid
I owned a 21 Ranger and that thing was noisy as hell too in the cabin especially if you were driving when it was raining.

I have a hybrid! It’s faster than most hot rods of the sixties! It isn’t made to pull a 30 ft trailer! It has plenty of power for most people. It’s faster top end than my 15 F150 2.7 which shuts off at 104 mph! It’s good for what it’s made for .
I need to you buffer all my life complaints with your earthy wisdom so I know what is really worth stressing about.
So far everything is petty complaints, There are some really limited issues with electrical problems kinda like getting hit by lightning limited
Well done. It seems the internet is full of nit pickers. Ford produced a good inexpensive truck. That was number 1. A little bit of Henry Ford, if you will. Most people could get 2 new Mavericks and still have $20,000 extra spending money from buying a new or used large pickup these days.
I remember looking at reviews for the Chevy Avalanche back in 2002. Someone complained that when they filled the bed area with water and mud it leaked into the cabin, and they threw away the useless bed covers. LOL, they were trying to use it like a conventional truck and it wasn’t designed to do that. But people buy cars and don’t understand what they are buying.
I purchased a Maverick and i love it. Have driven the first thousand miles and no real complaints. Considering how expensive trucks are these days , I was thrilled to get a new truck that can tow 4000 lbs with tow package for less than 30K . I got the luxury package and the bigger gas engine with upgraded tow package. My only complaint is that i got the Alto blue and it looks black on cloudy days and a pretty blue on sunny days. It also shows dirt and dust super easy.
I think the price and size of this truck is part of it’s popular appeal. This truck is a great value if you really don’t need something heavier. I think much of your advice is pretty much what do you expect in a budget priced truck! If you need something with more creature comforts buy a loaded F150 for $55k.

I bought a '20 F150 XL, listed for 32K and paid 26K (not happening now). It depends on what you want in a truck. It did come with one touch up/down power windows, mirrors, cruise & laminated door glass (sound deading). You don't have to spend a lot, 55K+. Get what you can afford
A lot of these complaints seem to be base model and hybrid engine based. I’ve had the lariat with the gas engine and lux pack for a month and it is more than capable of towing, has great torque throughout all the gears and is a very comfortable drive with a good audio system. Get whatcha pay for!
What The? A maverick is a dang car man!!! I have a cousin that from Europe. He was was visiting once, he showed my brother and I a pic of his Ford Granada. We looked at his car and told him that ain't no dang Granada. I think it hurt his feels. Poor guy I seemed real funny 😂at the time. Love the videos keepum coming.

Sometimes opening the door while backing up a trailer to get a better look, especially when in a tight space, is helpful, you can do this in a semi, don't know why Ford added it unless in was mandated by a FMVSS or something.
