Same. I’ll always think of Albrecht as the real villain of the story and you cannot convince me otherwise.
The way I see it, Hilarion thinks he owns Giselle just because he's in love with her. He wanted to ruin her romance with the prince out of jealousy.
@@alisav8394 He is sometimes played really sympathetically, but I agree with you- he just wants to spoil her happiness. He is really similar to Albrecht - entitled, arrogant, selfish.

It vaguely reminds me of the Ukrainian "kozachok" dance, where the woman uses hand gestures to signal to the man to change the way he is dancing.
1:30 usually i see Hilarions do two or so of these jumps before falling down but homeboy did FIVE back to back! This Hilarion is one of the best that I've seen!

The best character role in ballet is that of Queen Myrtha...in control & unforgiving with a stone cold heart....some of the evil bastards in this life may well meet her in the next!.....Nice vid with good camera work into the bargain....Thanks for posting....
What's also really chilling is that when Myrtha first comes into the story, the music is so sweet and innocent, well suited to something like Giselle being laid to rest. That music contrasts completely with Myrtha herself.

I still don't understand why they kill Hilarion but not the other guy :(
They kill all men, they just don't do in time to kill Albrecht too, as they can be around only between midnight and 4am, but as Giselle protects Albrecht and shares the dancing with him, the Willis don't have enough time to make him collapse...the clock will strike four times and they must disappear .... So he survives
Because Giselle interferes since she loves Albrecht. And love conquers all.
