- Some use vinegar, some just use soap and water, I like bleach for cleaning. The key to storing your camelbak after use is you have to ensure it is completely dry when storing it.
I have a link here on how to use bleach to clean water before drinking: www.thinklikeah...

After 12 years since it was issued in basic, I think it’s time to clean mine. Mind you I haven’t used it since I got out 9 years ago.
Fantastic idea with the blow dryer. Simple but effective.
The camelback cleaning kit has this cool thing for drying. It has a hanger hook and a flexible frame type thing you fold up, stick in the bladder, and it spreads, kinda like how they do the ships in bottles.
Thank you I'm going away soon so now I know how to clean it I'll definitely be needing it💯
Yep I use a little bleach also. Then rinse and I like to clean the corners with a little brush. In the Army we got a bunch of cleaning tabs that camelbak makes. In the field you just pop them in there, shake, and rinse. Good to go.
Rick, that's pretty much how I do it too. After I drain the bleach solution I usually put a couple spoonfuls of baking soda in then fill it up with fresh water. Shake it up, drain, and flush a few times. Seems to kill the bleach taste faster.

good tip
the carrier says 2 teaspoons baking soda to freshen and 2 teaspoons bleach to wash. does that sound about right? additionally i also got a cleaning kit with it and the bladder dryer has the thing hanging fill port up. will that work or do i need to hang it upside down like you have it?
In My Army days, I never liked those things, I always just wanted My old Canteens! 2 1 Quart and a 2 Quart for My Ruck!
I absolutely LOVE your videos!! Oh and you!!!!
I just pulled mine out I got in 2018 and the water tasted nasty and I took it apart and it had black stuff in it I think it was mold so I’ve been trying to clean for a 1 but I’m gonna try this method thanks
Bro are you ok
Rick, We know you use the hair dryer too. No shame. Lol !!! 😂😂😂jk
Great video, thankyou. there used to be oxyclean tabs you could drop in to foam out the crud. I just use bleach..hairdryer is great idea.
When will you upload another 'Crazy Cop Story' ? It's been over a month, I need my fix! Haha Keep it up Rick, love your videos.
Man, I just pulled my camelback out yesterday. What a coincidence.
Blow dryer, Who would've thunk??!! Great idea!!!
good idea thanks Rick
You should put some paper towels bunched up inside camel pack to keep it not flat inside and suck up the moisture
I like the hair dryer tip.
Good tip. Thanks.
I use star san (brewing sanitizer) and a tap line (for beer tap lines) cleaning brush. Works great
thanks for the tip
ever use a blow dryer after a shower? it's the best! get your bits and pieces warm and toasty.
A bent coat hanger is also good for airing out a camelbak, and they also sell cleaning kits with everything you need. Do they still use Desert Water Bags out west?
I have that same camelback bag
According to the instructor in an emt class I took a few years ago 10% bleach water kills bacteria as well as 70% isopropyl alcohol.
I'm pretty sure 10% bleach is way too much bud. maybe 1%.
@@justaguy4real Household bleach is already very diluted. 10% by volume is taught as an easy mix for when the whole squad is covered in body fluid and you need a LOT of sanitizer. 10% by VOLUME of already diluted household bleach.........Bud lol
I’m sorry did you say BLEACH!!!!
Hows the tap water in your neck of the woods, is it safe for personal consumption?

I am on well water so my water is great, some city water is not so tasty..
Yeah thats what I hear that city water in the states is quite 'hard'
Do the horses enjoy the hairdryer?

they love it when they are shivering and wet, it is nice hot air drying their fur allowing them to maintain heat once their hair is dry and fluffy.
That's cool, I thought the noise might scare them.
But what if you're in the outdoors how do you clean it then? 😮
I'm O+ too bro
A CHP officer came into my school the other day and told all the students that anyone under the age of 21 in California can NOT refuse a field sobriety test. If they do they face a 1 year license suspension. Is this true and what would be the best course of action if you were stopped and you would most likely blow above the limit?

You are going to get worse if you take it and fail, so if you are sure you are not over then take it, if you think you might be over, refuse.
How funny i have to do this today
How much bleach do I use to clean it and how many times should I rinse it?
small amount, it depends how much water, I would use the same amout you use to clean your water, I have info on my web page. www.thinklikeacop.org
It says to use 2 tablespoons of bleach and let it soak overnight “RINSE WELL” lol
just store it in the freezer
lol lol lol i thought grils that wear pink only do that lol lol it works though right.
nipple. the bite part, and i like to use vinegar

I would rather Bleach since it cleans better and can be used to sanitize dirty water, I also would rather the smell of bleach since it smells clean to me, vinegar not so much.
Too much work.
