I bought a 1989 Honda Prelude SI 4WS back in 2021 and it was the best purchase I ever made. It sucks to find parts for, has mysterious issues, and forums that have been long abandoned, but keeping it alive is so worth it. The car handles like a dream especially with the 4WS. I'll never be able to drive another car and be as satisfied as driving the Prelude. Great video. You did this long forgotten car justice. ❤
Forums where such a great tool back in the day and it’s sad they were abandoned. I love UA-cam to find information but looking though videos sometimes isn’t the same as the search function. Keep it alive! The way the buttons and dash feels in those cars are so unique. The Honda smell too. ❤️

Not a prelude, but definitely shares some characteristics of it, I have a 92 accord. Not the sportiest car, but it does things that I wasn't aware cars were capable of thanks to the era of hondas. Insane cars they are man. No vtec though :(
Funny enough as a Hot Wheels toy hobbyist one of my best selling Hot Wheels over the last two years have been the different variations of the 1999 Honda Prelude. My toy says generally echo what is going on in the auto world, from rare to super cars to cars people just love, i think the Prelude falls into the last category. Making them electric just make them that much cooler.
I bought my 97 Prelude in 2021. I didn't know what a prelude was. I bought it for 500 and it became my project car. As soon as I installed the clutch and all. I fell in love with the car . It's may not be fast but it's good enough for me. I love the body style and how it looks. Hopefully when I make more money I'll put into it and restore it more. Honestly I have no regrets about purchasing it even tho I put a lot of money into it. Still is my project car that's fun.
This car, with all of it’s tech was far ahead of it’s time. Take the rear wheel steering at the time….for a basically a regular car. I was and still impressed.
I don't care if the future cars are EV, just bring back that 90's/2000's styling and double wishbone suspension. RWD and AWD sport compact and sports car options would be nice too.
The Toyota AE86 H2 Concept and the AE86 BEV Concept look pretty cool though. Old-school body, new tech under the hood. Toyota maintained the weigh balance and lightness of the ae86 and they are stick shift. I'd buy something like that if they make them available.
When I think of what I want a next gen prelude to be the list goes: Coupe, High Revving, Vtec that actually punches, small and light weight, and of course a sunroof. Probably going to turn out like the bastardized integra tho

Electric sportcars will kill the market for themselves because the people who are looking for sportcars would buy "old" models instead a new messed up electrical one. I don't care who says what but I will never have an electric vehicle. And I am not the only one I'm sure.
Definitely not the only one. I'm holding on to my Acura TSX for as long as I can. Also looking into getting a used Mustang GT. Real cars that are fun have real internal combustion engine. That's just my take.
3rd generation Prelude has a hydraulic steering system, not electric. But being that I just replaced all the hoses for my steering system, I sure wish it was electric.
However I believe the 4th and 5th generation 4ws rear rack is electronically controlled. They say it's not as reliable as the 3rd generation which has the mechanical driveshaft down the center of the car, but it was still plenty reliable. The 5th generation 4ws variant was rare and only in Japan if I remember correctly.
I have owned a 85 Prelude EX, and they have had disc brakes in the rear with the 2nd gen. Swapped a B16a from a DA6 halfcut in it. Those things are just great in corners, kinda missed it though
