I was going to ask "how much bigger could he be?" bc his credits based on the vid are pretty impressive already, but I realise you may mean as a general VA and not just for games
This man can voice act. I also think it's amazing somehow his voice sounded familiar and the only other time I've heard him is as Heisenberg who has an American accent.
I can't believe the same actor that voiced Karl Heisenburg from Village voiced Astarion. But tbh, I feel like Astarion is Neil's first role where he was allowed the freedom to give 150% of his being for the role. Astarion just...fits his voice and his personality so well.
You cant change the tone of your voice that much, if you actually listened you will hear that he does different manner and accents depending on the character. Weird for you to minimise his professionalism though even in his regular "Astarion voice" he can amazingly depict emotions of the character😊
@@0912soolihe wasnt minimising anything. Your comment almost sounds defensive and kinda pointless which is even weirder. Sounds more like a forced in opinion for no reason🤣
@@xxzghostxxz2165 he was minimising. Here are so many example of ranges of voice acting of the dude and he just diminished it to just 2 types of voice of character that he likes. Your comment sound defensive and weird too for dismissing other people comments and labeling them as pointless and for no reason. Seem like you can't handle people opinion lmao
Which might be not that good for him though. He was already talented with good roles before Astarion. Now that he's getting so hyped and everyone connects him with Astarion it might influence future roles. People will see Astarion -I mean I unverstand. Even if he doesn't voiceshift I can't unsee Astarions voice in simple interviews- but voiceshifting is the essence for voice actors and I really hope that this masterwork he delivered won't break his neck careerwhise
@@outrider2177I honestly don’t think it will, he’s proved that his voice acting is so versatile and he will continue being so, people know that he’s versatile too. His career is honestly just going to go up from here
I know Neil because of Elijah Kamski and i was so in love with this character (not talking about his voice) but when i heard Astarion...GOD DAMN IT NEIL WHY ARE YOU SO F...KING GOOD?!
I must say, his range is amazing, what a great actor, I loved Heisenberg when I played Village, his speech and behaviour made me like him a lot, then Baldur's Gate 3 and I just had a chat with chaotic sassy vampire man Astarion and suddenly I am yet obsessed with another character, BG3 really did amazing with the actors, stories, characters, everything. So good!
Been a fan of his work since RE Village came out. I hope with the release of BG3 more companies get to know him and he gets more voiceacting work, he's amazing!
there's nothing funnier than Karl Heisenberg and Elijah Kamski sounding _exactly_ the same, and then there's Astarion - still the same voice actor, but nearly unrecognizable with how different he sounds
I like to believe that all of these are Astarion's past lives.... cause that's all I hear now 🤣 Seriously though, I didn't realize hiw many characters he's voiced. Truly iconic.
OMG he was Kamski in Detroit Become Human?! I knew his face looked familiar, and wow he even did Gavin, his range is astounding, I didn't even grasp the idea of him being those two characters Now Kamski looks like a hipster Astarion to me xDDD Edit: And his Resident Evil roles too, I was surprised by Astarion performance and now I understand why, he can shape his voice, accents and well... EVERYTHING so well
Absolutely masterful performance from neil to play as Byrn from Planet of the Apes. From just those grunts alone I was able to understand such profound ideas Byrn was trying to portray to his colleague. The elegance, the glance, the prideful wave of his arm and hand to physically ask "Do you have any cranberry juice? I have a stomach ache." Brilliant. Just brilliant.
This guy definitely got some great roles. Detroit, Xenoblade (my fav.side companion btw), Resident Evil games! No matter how toxic I am about RE3, I quite enjoyed storyline there, and Heisenberg was actually the best villain in Village. Neil has quite a talent.
I heard Neil Newbon since DBH, but for some reason I didn't recognize he is VA of Astarion too😂considering how similar Kamski and Astarion‘s voices are
It's not technically voice acting, but Neil did the mo-cap for the Wendigos in Until Dawn and Nemesis in RE3 remake. He also performed Wyll's dance in BG3!
I knew his voice from Xenoblade but his name never stuck with me until bg3 came out, and I kept thinking Astarion reminded me of someone. I laughed _so_ hard when I finally connected the dots
holy shit, his Accent was so on spot for Nicolai in RE3R that I didnt realize it was him, also tbf I didnt know much about Neil until Heisenberg in RE8.
nick lightbearer and astarion having the same voice is hilarious to me, because all i can think about when i hear of astarion is "I HOPE WE HAD FUN LAST NIGHT PET" and "clear head, nick; no reds, and ESPECIALLY no yellows...OHOH PARTY FAVOURS!"
I had no idea he was in two more of my favorite games. Secret World... Detroit Become Human.... I think I'll be paying closer attention to game voice actor casts now.
He doesn't have a crazy range like other voice actors, but he performs really well. I wish the voice industry had more actors like him, doesn't matter if you can impersonate 30 different voices or not, as long as you read lines like a actual human
It fascinates me he was on a really long running soap opera in England. An awful one. And now he's making it to the greatest video game actors in the industry. Reaching Nolan North and Troy Baker levels. I feel a weird homely pride. F Hollyoaks. Mans in the big leagues now.
Check out my interview with Neil here: ua-cam.com/video/ikUV7hletb0/v-deo.htmlsi=ib6b9mQYilhel2LZ
His role as Astarion will give him a big career boost. Everyone loves this cheeky vampire spawn.
Hopefully it won't box him in too much
I was going to ask "how much bigger could he be?" bc his credits based on the vid are pretty impressive already, but I realise you may mean as a general VA and not just for games
He was doing pretty great already. His performance as Heisenberg was insanely popular
comment aged well
*heisenberg

I knew Heisenberg and Nikolai had the same VA, but I was surprised when I found out he voiced Astarion too. Amazing range he has.
I was also very surprised when I found out Heisenberg and Astarion had the same VA. Neil is truly amazing.
Kinda crazy that Neil voiced both Nicholai and Heisenberg. Would've never realized it on my own.
Neil Newbon in Planets of the Apes : Om, Om om, Ohhm
Yeah, but it’s deep 😂

I love that he has like 2 types of voices, a Heisenberg type and an Astarion type

And both of them are amazing
Astarion might be his magnum opus
Do you mean magnum opus?
I see what you did there😂😂😂
Honestly after playing bg3 for some time, every character here sounds like there's astarion hidden somewhere and saying those lines
Which might be not that good for him though.

Should have had one of Astarion's rants. I'm thinking "weirdos" or "I WAS RIGHT THERE!"
Not the monkeys💀
he has mocap reels on his channel for this that are incredible, running around on all fours xD
@@peachimugiyeah I saw that lol it must be so fun for actors to play animals
Neil: "Darling
Heisenberg feels like he doing nick cage.
If memory serves, Neil said he was definitely channeling a bit of Nick Cage when playing Heisenberg.

Bro I hear nothing but Astarion lmao guess I played it too much
"Oh hello!"
OH MY GOD HE"S ALSO HEISENBERG? That explains everything, honesty.

HE WAS MAGNETO WEREWOLF IN RE8?! No wonder the way he said "Bastard" sounded off, but like, not in a bad way. Just makes sense now is all
Neil has always been amazing and Astarion was the role that allowed him to showcase all of his talents
He mentioned in an interview that Karl was inspired by Nick Cage and I totally hear it now. Such amazing talent.

Holy shit his acting as Isaac on Deliver Us Mar is top notch. I got goosebumps!
All his characters are Astarion to me now. Cant unhear it.
honestly... totally fangirling over his voice xD
I heard Neil Newbon since DBH, but for some reason I didn't recognize he is VA of Astarion too😂considering how similar Kamski and Astarion‘s voices are
For all the awards Xenoblade 3 got robbed of last year, Neil Newbon having voiced the lovely High Entia bloke is close enough.
He’s sooooo talented! I’m glad he’s getting recognition now
It's insane how many of the characters he voiced I knew yet I had no idea
Didn't know he was in Detroit! The range😭
It never clicked that Neil played Heisenberg- wow
I finally recognise him in so many games and I can't believe I never noticed the similarity
No way heisenburger is voiced by him, crazy
It's not technically voice acting, but Neil did the mo-cap for the Wendigos in Until Dawn and Nemesis in RE3 remake. He also performed Wyll's dance in BG3!
I knew he voiced Kamski in Detroit but I had no idea he also voiced Reed. Mind? Blown.
The Secret World has such an amazing cast of voice actors and I'm happy that Neil was also a part of it!
i actually laerned about him because of his work as heisenberg and was happy to learn that he also voices astarion
He also did motion capture work in UNTIL DAWN.
I never realized he voiced freaking Heisenberg! That’s insane how I knew him before BG3
Gahh I knew his voice sounded familiar, I love his work as Zeon in Xeno
When Bryan said “OhH huh HUH huh” peaked performance
Heisenberg's presentation gives off vibes of Stormare playing Nick Cage
The planet of the apes one was oscar worthy
Man his work in deliver us Mars is snagging. He's such a great guy in so happy about his award. Watching him stream is a treat
I'm so glad he's finally getting his flowers, he's such a talented actor
I did NOT realise he played Nikolai!
neil in re3 is so unrecognizable damn hes talented
the only time I remember him is from Detroit become human as Kamski but I never notice he was also in Re3 remake and Re8 too.
Wow i can just hear some of the high astarion notes when he played in resident evil, mans got vocal range
My mind was blown when I realized that Astarion’s actor plays Heisenberg from Village.
Damn this guys' CV is packed!
The monkeys xD OMG thats funny. That they actually cast a human to make those sounds!
I knew his voice from Xenoblade but his name never stuck with me until bg3 came out, and I kept thinking Astarion reminded me of someone. I laughed _so_ hard when I finally connected the dots
Holy shit I KNEW ASTARION SOUNDED SIMILAR TO HEISENBERG
Damn. Him as Elijah Kamski is ssooooo different from the others. It's like it's a different person
I had no idea he was in DBH, that's wild
holy shit, his Accent was so on spot for Nicolai in RE3R that I didnt realize it was him, also tbf I didnt know much about Neil until Heisenberg in RE8.
His voice is the main reason I’m playing Baldur’s Gate.❤
I thought for a long time that Karl Heisenberg was voiced by Nicholas Cage.
nick lightbearer and astarion having the same voice is hilarious to me, because all i can think about when i hear of astarion is "I HOPE WE HAD FUN LAST NIGHT PET" and "clear head, nick; no reds, and ESPECIALLY no yellows...OHOH PARTY FAVOURS!"

he is so talented, I am a big big fan of his works.
wait...what????!!!! Elijah Kamshi and Astarion is the same voice actor???!!! Oh wow.....!!!!
Adding to it because it's an older video. He also voices Fibonacci in Warframe, the talking fish who orders you around.
Everyone: Asterion was his best job so far, such a talent!
Me, an intellectual: Uh uh ah ah oh oh uh (monkey hand gestures)
He was heisenburg?!
as a huge dbh and bg3 fan, i'm a bit disappointed i didn't hear the similarity between astarion and elaijah sooner
I watched a play through of the RE3 remake a couple months before I got into BG and I would’ve never guessed that he voiced Nicolai of all damn people
is incredible
lol. Now I wanna hear Astarion with an American accent.
Y’allstarion cracks me up every time.
So my first hyperfixation is also my current? (Heisenberg, and now Astarion)
i played Deliver Us Mars earlier this year before BG3. didnt realize it was him
the RANGE of this man is impeccable
Does anyone know if he ever did audio books? If not it would be a loss.
I HAD NO IDEA THAT HE WAS HEISENBERG WHAT THE FUCK
He vo'd lightbearer in the happy few dlc? I knew I recognized his voice from somewhere when I played it
he was John Galahad?? I loved him!
OMFG I thought I knew his voice from somewhere, I love Detroit become human
Elijah Kamski and Astarion🥰
omfg he is this good huh damn.
No wonder i liked karl heisenberg!
Damn I didn't know he voiced Heisenberg! This dude has range!
I love the way he says "SUCCESS" in Warframe.
Omg i love zeon. I had no idea

WTF ELIJAH LOOKS JUST LIKE HIM IN REAL LIFE
Wow! I can totally hear him as Heisenberg now! I had no idea 😂
He's a talking infinity spiral fish now in Warframe
He now also voices Fibonacci in Warframe. He has peaked.
I didn't realize Become Human was 5 years old
Wow! Some of those I wouldn't even know was him.
