The beauty of the "Hornet" is (at least in my experience): 1) it's superb accuracy, compared to other "penetrators" (namely: Polymag and Metalmag) ; 2) the compatibility with wide array of guns - I have emptied many cans of them, in caliber 177, 22 and 25, from 5 different brakebarrels and 2 PCPs (Artemis M16 /.22, Snowpeak PP750 /.177), and, in terms of "grouping" they performed almost as nicely as an average "paper target", flat nose pellet. And they PENETRATE like a spear! The best choice for pest control/hunting, if one is not "on a budget" (yes, these are expensive).

In the real world of shooting the most important qualities of ammo are: accuracy, consistency and, if used for hunting, penetration. The Gamo Lethal pellets appear to be sadly lacking in the first 2 categories and I've yet to encounter a rabbit wearing safety glasses so the only thing that test proves is that even cheap safety glasses provide excellent protection.

    • @tillysgunstocks

Hi 😉 I absolutely agree. However... I feel there could be some further development into some sort of composite, maybe even 3d printed🤔 outer skins with maybe a lead core.
Our traditional lead pellets are so fragile and vary quite a lot in size, these gamo plastic bodies are almost indestructible and feel so nice to load. That's the only good qualities 😆 but as technology evolves maybe the concept is worth further investigation.. maybe 😆

I recently bought some preditor metal mags and nearly half were unusable , the skirts get baddly bent as they are pure lead and very very soft , I was using the cap of a pen to round out the skirts the best I could , then someone turned me on to pellet head sizers which most people think is obsolete now , that little tool saved every pellet in the tin it works great for rounding out the skirt to where you cant tell it was ever damaged . I highly recommend them , I originally bought them because the H&N rabbit magnum 2 is head sized way too big , actully jammed one in my 25fpe pcp crosman Icon 22cal , after dislodging the jam I put a whole tin thru the sizer and the feed great soooth like butter , resizing an entire tin took me 3 days of sitting for 30 min each time just doing it in a mindless fashion. @@tillysgunstocks

If your pellet is hitting with 10 foot pounds kinetic energy it has 120 inch pounds of energy, so a penetration of one inch would give an average impact force of 120 pounds. Those pellets are going into the glasses about a tenth of an inch at most, so you must be hitting those glasses with 120X10 = 1200 pounds of force!
That's almost half a ton of force! Good polymer glasses. Nice video.

I feel like those would do some serious work on the goggles and DEFINITELY the bacon tray. Probably shoot pretty straight as well. A .22 Rocket coming out of any decently powered rifle should have some fun results going against any well made pointed pellets. I actually just ordered a tin with a new rifle that should fire them out +/- 1k fps and I'm quite looking forward to see how they work.

So Funny pellets have already been perfected , but we all keep looking for the little something special , Im as guilty as the next guy , bought every gimmicky pellets out there except the exploding pellets , they cost a dollar per shot if you buy them from ebay in America, I recently pulled the Flint out of a lighter and made some Flint tipped pellets , the flash wasn't visible to my eye but you could plainly see them on Video , even funnier is I was shooting at an old truck tailgate and the flash was visible in a different area than the impact , I think I'm seeing the flash as the pellet bounces off , I have some content and posted if you care to look . I used Appolo 25 cal slugs and a Bic lighter Flint, it fits almost perfectly but does have to be pushed in a half millimeter to get it seated , the Flint is completely buried in the lead so no chance of barrel damage . Nice video great job

My Hatsan loves JSB .22 my Gamo Mach 1 loves JSB 13.4 Grn Redesigns Best. Gamo red fire speed was 1038 fps the predator polymag was1007 fps and just as accurate more damage with the red fire, deeper penetration with with the polymags. the Crosman 10.5 grain from the box is just a hair more accurate than JSB and H&N . any way those are my finding . as far as the HN hornet they use a brass tip that one reason they cost more the Game Lethal shoot ok but they brake the sound barrier. but if I git attacked by some .06 T6 Aluminum I will be ready.
