I absolutely love my black daytona R. I put about 200 miles a week on it and never drive my truck (unless it's snowing) . In fact, I literally just sold my truck and bought an old subaru just to cash out. Every commute is a blast! It's super nimble, sounds awesome, comfy, great power, looks awesome. I have a Kreiga trailbag to carry my stuff and that works great. Oh, I'm 43, so the age comment cracked me up.
I test drive this today I agree with everything he said. I also am currently on an R3 and WILL be upgrading to this bike. Power is there when ever you need it. The only issue I had was the ergonomics but as he said I rkn I'll get used to it quick enough. If they dont take my license for speeding haha
Bro I've been riding bikes for 6 years, I've ridden almost every bike. I just got triumph daytona 675r and I'm shocked how good this bike is.. I love it
I like my Metzeler m7rr tires. A year now, rain and shine on a T595 (Daytona 955cc). Great stickage, even at near freezing wet. Seem to be wearing very well. I ride spirited public roads with frequent calculated stupidity. I'm glad I sprang for them.
I love mine too and totally get the weird looks when people ask what kind of bike it is and I say, "Triumph." Money well spent in my opinion and it's the best bike I've owned so far!

Man tks for the video I'm watching this in 2023 I'm also have the same age as you when you posted it, 23. Daytona is my dream bike, I'm form Brazil and this year I'm working on a very good company and my dream will probably come true in October of this year. Tks for the video, you inspire me to get mine
Nice. Such a beautiful bike. I rode one again and I am still loving it. This will very likely be my next bike. ;) Last time I rode it was around 2013 and in my mind the reach got way worse. When I rode it again, I realized that the reach isn't that bad. The clutch friction zone is pretty far from the grip, but that is easily fixed. One more thing about the R version....you get the quickshifter, Ohlins and the Brembo brakes in the front too (compared to Nissin on the non-R).
Hey @Yammie Noob, if you're tired of eating up the Pirelli Diablo SP's on the street, Try the Pirelli Angel GT's. They will last 3X as long, and they will hold the power no problem. One of the bikes in our group is a 180WHP GSXR 1000 L2, he runs Angel GT's and they hold the power on the street no problem. We save the Diablo SP's for Track Days, as they just melt on the street. Hope that helps, cheers!
I also snagged the Daytona 675R back in May (the 2015 model) I kept my CBR600F4i tho, she has been way too good to me, I could never part with her. I love seeing that Triumph cluster in your videos, it;s like I´m riding mine that much more. Keep up the UA-cam channel research. I guess I´m posting the comment on the wrong video and off on a rant... keep the shiny side up, dude, later
Hey I like the Daytona very much but with the money I bought a 2008 street triple that's been used. buying a used buy was a good choice and the previous owner didn't ride but took great care of the bike. the power on the street triple is great and it's a quick bike too. I get 40+ mpg compare to my friend bikes. Ride safe dude and I like the white color too.
+Azian08triple I would never buy a brand new bike (nor car). Bikes, particularly sport depreciate like crazy. With a bit of knowledge, you can pick a peach at a fraction of cost new.

Hello, Yammie Noob... You commented that the SPs don't last long at all (which they don't) but in your case, I think that the tire wore out a bit faster than usual because it has been fitted on your bike for quite sometime. Tires has quite long shelf lives (from manufacturing date) however, the countdown will start once they're fitted and pressurised. From then onwards, the compound characteristics will change; and as a result, may cause a difference in longevity, regardless whether the bike is ridden or not. For most cases, buying a year old bike will get you about half (or a bit more) tire lifespan compared to buying newly assembled machines. But for the Sps, I reckon the total mileage will be much lower. Although, if you want to look it another way, you got a bigger percentage.. hahaha. Tires with good ratings nowadays include Dunlop Q3, Metzeler Z7, Bridgestone S20/ T30; apart from the ever popular Pirellis, of course...
My '01 955i pulls hard from 3,000rpm Up. I want a '13+ Daytona for it's high rpm redline compared to my 955i and the upgraded suspension. Looks wise.. I love the curvy, sculpted look of my early '01 with the round rear air intakes that keeps my undertail exhaust from cooking the seat in the summer.
I just ran across this video because of a search I did for this model. It's funny because my wife just called me saying she's trading her R3 for the same exact one you have (her's is dark gray). What a coincidence 😀 Glad you like it, hope she likes her's.
Very nice review. I haven't ridden a Daytona yet but really like it anyways. If I ever buy another 600 I'll definitely be buying the Daytona R. I crashed my ZX6R and wanted to go a new path, got a beautiful Speed Triple R and fucking love that shit. Your review has definitely sold me though if I do get another 600 xD
Yammer Noob Chronological binge video #11: Wow. I didn’t know why you originally chose the Daytona, but now that I’ve seen this, I kinda want one too. Maybe that Aprilia RS660 can wait...
Coincidentally I bought my 2014 Triumph Street Triple R white with red accents from the same dealer you got this Daytona from! I even sat on a white Daytona while I was there trying to make sure I wanted the Street over it.
Couldn't agree more with your thoughts, I ride a '12 675R. Try Dunlop Q3's for tires, just as grippy on the street, last longer than SP's and better than SP's in the wet. SP's are better on track though..
Thanks for the video! I'm looking to trade my 2013 Ninja 636 in for something new and am seriously considering the 675 (non-R). I'm not a track rider and don't really care for the Ohlins suspension (would like the quick shifter but oh well) and the bikes in my area are a $2k premium over the base 675's. Also, you said upwards of $9k for the 675R and, well, you're not wrong, but the base one where I live is $12k and the R is $14k. That's quite a chunk for a middleweight super sport (I paid $10k out the door on my ZX-6R two years ago). For the $14k of the 675R you can get a new R1S which would definitely be quicker. Unfortunately my insurance cost for an R1 would double my Ninja so it looks like I am stuck in the 600-class for now...
@@tappajaav Thanks my dude! I’ve posted plenty of motovlogs on it on my channel if you wanna check them out. They’re worth it just for the sound of that V4! Cheers!
Baetona is love indeed! Great choice of machine! I recently just purchased a 2014 Triumph Daytona 675R on Jan 18th. I bought it used though with about 2200 miles on it. As for the electrical issues you were having, is it known to happen with the 2014 model? Just curious.. I'm doing research about it as we speak
Awesome bike! I recently purchased a 2014 Daytona 675 (not the R) and love it. Have you experienced the "crunchy" clutch issue at all? At times when I pull in my clutch lever you can feel a slight crunch/grind which is coming from the gearbox. Apparently it is a common issue with these bikes, something relating to the plates being lubricated(?). It's very subtle, and not consistent, but certainly nothing I have felt on any of my past bikes (~10 other bikes).
Shoot - I have the same issue and two mechanics have told me that it's the clutch basket and not worth fixing... I also suspect that the lubrication is a factor as well. I've seen reports though of people with only a few thousand miles having this same issue and with some people it just went away completely. For me, the crunch got worse and not sure what to do at this point - replacing the clutch basket may be pointless as it may do it again after a few thousand miles.
@@culvercity6945 I’m just living with my “crunch”. Does it the worst when cold and the first few pulls when starting to ride. Once warmed up it seems to do it less. I’m now using Motul V300 oil (not sure you can get any better than that) and still does it… maybe a little less.
Great review, all i do is check out reviews and read up on different motorcycles. my first bike was a yamaha r3..and now I want the Triumph street triple. I'm guessing you did your research as well!
Triumph is a really well built bike, but after my fz07 which I will keep for awhile for touring and dailying after High school, I will be looking forward to the Zx636r or the 675r with the quickshifter(which i think comes factory) but I heard the 675r is Smooth Like Butter, I live in Los Angeles so lane filtering/splitting is going to be quite often. I hope I could afford a good helmet and gear, and yep im going to be a future motovlogger also ;)
i was thinking of buying speed and strength armored (thick) sweater/textile underneath or just go full alpinestars leather jacket and gauntlet gloves, with rhok jeans, btw what helmet are you using?
ah i see, im not really a fan of icon since they spend most of the helmets build on the graphics instead of build quality, so im either going bell rs1 or shoei rf-1200, i need a quiet helmet for comfort and mic placement and bluetooth. idk where you located at, but I would like to do some dual vlogging sometime.
Good Video, they sound nice. Just checked out the prices in the UK 7k for 2012 model, fuck I'll stick with my Fireblade. Always remember Triumphs having a reputation for leaking both oil and petrol (gasoline).
The Daytona is really fast, no question. But I'd like to see you ride a liter bike. You won't believe how fast they are, even after trying one. I think you should try getting a hold of one, and share the video. Would be awesome! I'm from Denmark, so I hope you understand my english and what I mean ;)
Sooooo, here's a story.... In 2011 I bought a brand new 675r. I got rid of it for a brand new 2017 Honda crf450 dirt bike back then.Which I regretted to this day. Now today the local shop I traded it in back then took my Daytona back in on trade. It's just not as clean as I had traded it in. Thinking of reacquiring it. 😁
love the video but few quick points. the 2011 version isn't as powerfull as the 2013+ versions. so that chart you used is a bit out of date. also you have a slipper clutch with the r version with the race setting for traction control
here in Illinois the 2015 model for 11,000 not bad at all and that's with no miles. shit compared to my Harley road king this is super nice price lol. will be purchasing this bike next year.
Been waiting for this video, I knew it was coming eventually. I'm making the move up to an R6 from the R3 this summer and can't wait! What would you say is the biggest upgrade from the R3 to your Daytona? Other than the obvious speed difference lol
+Yammie Noob Ok that's basically what I thought I was gonna be in for. Cool to hear it from someone who's already made the same switch. Thanks for the info man! I've ridden a CBR 650f but never a super sport so I was just curious. Soooo anxious!!!
Sooooo I am currently 3000mi into my R3... thinking about upgrading to an 07 Daytona 675. Bike is modded to perfection (exhaust, tune, levers, extra track body work, 4 point slider system, HeliBars, new tires and fluids, safety inspection and more) and has about 7k miles, all for $5500. You came off an R3 too, yes? Be honest with me: how hard was the shift in riding position, and which do you prefer? I think the R3 is too upright, but I am worried the Daytona might be too aggressive for my taste. Also worried about the jump in insurance from $225 to $800 :( You seem happy with the upgrade, though. I think I will be too, just not sure if I need it... but man, do I know I WANT it. Any thoughts you have are most appreciated.
If you really WANT it, then BUY it. You'll LOVE every bit of it. Even if it's exhausting to ride, if the power-band is meh for street riding, if your pillion will screams for a "better" motorcycle, these are all the little things that makes you even more happy to be able to ride something exclusive. And if you buy something else, you'll regret it anyway.
What do you think about getting a 600 as a first bike? I know you grabbed the Triumph relatively quickly after your R3. Do you ever wish you had jumped straight into the 675r?
+Yammie Noob no no no no NO lol no one says that who just buys 600 off the bat man like my boy started off on a pos CBR 250 and argued it was a good choice for a long time until he finally admitted he was really trying to justify wasting 3 grand on a weak ass bike he wanted to sell less than a month after he got it and could've afforded a older 600 for that same price so that he wouldn't have hated potentially dropping it as a new rider and wouldn't have outgrown it almost instantly if someone can ride they can ride some people just shouldn't do it period and others were meant for it you'll know which you are real quick regardless of engine size
+Vikram Bharati as a first bike I would recommend the Daytona. They are torque beast. super nimble. loves curves . As long as you are responsible the 675 is awesome.
How can a supersport bike be good for cruising?? If you want a 600cc bike which looks good and is comfortable for all day touring then go for ninja650.. It also costs half of daytona
Was looking at older Daytonas and I would love a newer one, but if I had $9,000 to spend I'd be really tempted with a bit older Ducati 858 especially if it had a white body and red rims. Gosh they look so good like that
we are in the same place lol but my plans is for next year. but here in Philadelphia you can find a 2010 for 5k here right now. I'm really confused I Really want the fz09 but this bike is nice as well
Your third set of tires in 3-4 months?! dude I've had the same set on mine for almost a year now and they still look like they have a couple months of life left.
Bro your bike is a triple which is ideal at this CC range for a bike that's usable on street and track. You should make a video explaining that to your viewers
I`ve always considered Triumph is cheating the middle supersport class by using those supplementary 75cc in order to compensate power and torque of their engine. If competition would use the same capacity, Triumph would be at the bottom in terms performance.
I just bought mine, depends on what street you use it for. if highway def daytona, if more local go gsxr. Daytona heats up and needs air flow to keep it cool.
I like the Daytona, but own it for 4 months and it's down for one?... Shame they ain't as reliable as my gsxr if so I'd get me one. Wonderful sounding bike.
Which begs the question WHY on earth doesnt Yamaha build the R9 using of course the 890cc Cp3 Triple engine from the MT09??? Which essentially would be much along the same lines as the Triumph Daytona only faster ....Would that be awesome or what? Yamaha could probably use the existing frame/wheels/suspension/brakes and even the dash simply a new seat tank and fairing rearsets and clipons and DONE...I am assuming they could fly right through environmental etc because it is rougly the same existing platform....which basically I think is what they did with the tame R7 ...but an R9 would NOT be tame!
bro have you done a power wheelie on it? if so was it nice and easy with no effort, I ask cause I rode my brothers fz09 and that baby has power and the power wheelies on it super smooth.
I'm so glad you got the R version instead of the normal one! I always wondered the difference between the R6 & your bike so it's nice to see the comparison. I still gotta stay loyal to my R6

british engeneering, any gear, any time ,the power is always there, thats wot e said
glad you joined the club bud :)
+Yammie Noob hope your loving it as much as me haha subscribed aswell man.
Pickup my 2016 675R next week buzzing, though it’s coming into winter here in the UK so not much fun to be had
Awesome awesome review!!
Good Video, they sound nice. Just checked out the prices in the UK 7k for 2012 model, fuck I'll stick with my Fireblade. Always remember Triumphs having a reputation for leaking both oil and petrol (gasoline).
I got a 2018 Bonneville bobber. Shout out to triumph for torque
Mine would definitely gap this bike tho
Love your style and noticed the highway you were on look familiar. :) Subbed!
fantastic bike
Love everything about this bike!
Fantastic bike, one of my goals. Since you ride almost every day, to like work and stuff, what do you do for security?
The good days of Noob
I've got a 2015 that has traction control
Wait I just looked my bad. But the abs has a track mode
I bought mine because cheap compared to others, rarity in south africa, mid range range linear torque!
Nice bike man, but also would like to know what camera your using?!
here in Illinois the 2015 model for 11,000 not bad at all and that's with no miles. shit compared to my Harley road king this is super nice price lol. will be purchasing this bike next year.
She’s a beauty
I have the exact same bike bro. Where did you get your fender eliminator kit and how hard is it to install?
Thank you
Sooooo I am currently 3000mi into my R3... thinking about upgrading to an 07 Daytona 675.
Also worried about the jump in insurance from $225 to $800 :(
You seem happy with the upgrade, though.
I started on a 600, don't be a douche and LEARN... really learn and you will be fine
The reason the SPs didnt last that came with it is because they have 3mm of tread from new rather than 5 (out of the dealership NOT from Pirelli)
awesome video I have an 08 675 first bike...love it
how was the learning curve man? Im looking into getting one for my first. Would yo recommend it?
+Vikram Bharati as a first bike I would recommend the Daytona. They are torque beast. super nimble. loves curves . As long as you are responsible the 675 is awesome.
Famoso675 nice. looking at either cbr600rr, r6, or this one.
+Vikram Bharati if not Daytona I'd say r6
Famoso675 tru...but I want the torque at the mid and low end. r6 lacks that. so CBR is better. or the gixxxer 600
How can a supersport bike be good for cruising?? If you want a 600cc bike which looks good and is comfortable for all day touring then go for ninja650.. It also costs half of daytona
Awesome bike and well said man, btw which music s that in the end? Thanks
Too Old?? No, I'm 70 an d I love it...
You mentioned an electrical issue. Was it a common problem these bikes have or something specific to yours?
i took one for a test ride today now i must have it, im like a fat kid around cake i must must must
Was looking at older Daytonas and I would love a newer one, but if I had $9,000 to spend I'd be really tempted with a bit older Ducati 858 especially if it had a white body and red rims. Gosh they look so good like that
we are in the same place lol but my plans is for next year.
but here in Philadelphia you can find a 2010 for 5k here right now.
I'm really confused I Really want the fz09 but this bike is nice as well
+lets go eagles I hail from PA as well haha but I'm closer to Pittsburgh, I didn't know they were so cheap that's tempting
Your third set of tires in 3-4 months?!
dude I've had the same set on mine for almost a year now and they still look like they have a couple months of life left.
Hay mate can't wait tell I get my 675 next week 2016 mode
Slap an arrow titanium on it. You'd thank yourself.
Too bad you can't find them anymore.
Bro your bike is a triple which is ideal at this CC range for a bike that's usable on street and track. You should make a video explaining that to your viewers
Oooo nice slick bike:3 looks like with would ride nicely
I`ve always considered Triumph is cheating the middle supersport class by using those supplementary 75cc in order to compensate power and torque of their engine. If competition would use the same capacity, Triumph would be at the bottom in terms performance.
Hey how do you think the reliability on this brand of bikes?
cool bike!what's top speed do u know? is it faster than 636's?
I just discovered this. Was looking at the Suzuki gsxr 600, but now im conflicted.
For street use, which would you recommend?
I just bought mine, depends on what street you use it for. if highway def daytona, if more local go gsxr. Daytona heats up and needs air flow to keep it cool.
Do you think I should get this bike or the R6 as a first bike?
I like the Daytona, but own it for 4 months and it's down for one?... Shame they ain't as reliable as my gsxr if so I'd get me one. Wonderful sounding bike.
Triumphs are quite reliable but every now and then they have a recall just like many brands.
Should I get this as my second bike or a 2015 cbr600rr after I ride my KTM RC390 for a while.
なに言うてるかわからんけどとにかく良さそうなのは伝わるわ
Bro that freaking description is choice
Do you have any advice for a fellow daytona owner? 2006 first gen though
what is the site you mentioned in your video about comfort pics of riders on the different bikes? thank you
bro have you done a power wheelie on it? if so was it nice and easy with no effort, I ask cause I rode my brothers fz09 and that baby has power and the power wheelies on it super smooth.
I had a 07 once she so beautiful but that bike had so much electrical problem. Dealership couldn’t find the problem either SMH.
thanks for the info
It's my birthday this year. Could you send me this bike? I'll pay for the shipping if it's under $5
So how do you like the bike so far after a year of owning it?
The bike certainly doesn't like him, considering he's written off two of them.
