- Cammed 2016 Challenger Scatpack Shaker wanted to run my 2017 Challenger SRT 392 and I honestly don't know how to explain this race or why I was able to win I thought for sure I would get smoked. But as you can clearly see my SRT did its thing and won.

Yeah pretty sure the car is tuned to run the way it is but if it really is built for boost im sure it has lower compression setup for the charger which will cause some power loss. Now to think of it tho thats a good excuse to have after losing to a stock car. “Hey man my motors built for boost” 😂😂😂

Forged engine parts are needing boost can’t just do that and not finish the concept of forging the engine for it to handle boost
Camarogirl10 forged engine parts do not need boost. If he has a low compression pistons then boost would be needed to make more power. But if he has high compression pistons he does not need boost

Your 392 runs strong Rush! That said, a properly sorted 392 with cam and long tubes should pull a stock/mild bolt-on 392 all day, every day. I know he mentioned he has forged bottom end and plans on adding boost in the future, but he didn't mention his compression ratio. If the new bottom end has a more boost friendly compression ratio, say around 9.5:1 like the Hellcat(Factory 392 compression ratio is 10.9:1), then that would help explain why you were able to pull him. Did he mention what cam he is running?

He doesn’t need his money back he needs the rest of the money to get the rest of the parts to complete the build /upgrade the stuff he’s done is just about 40% of the whole upgrade and the things he’s done are the things that make the engine be able to take the extra torque and they don’t make power by themselves. Forged pistons and headers and cam alone don’t make much more Hp if any. Once it’s boosted it’s going to haul

Just goes to show if it aint broke don't fix it. These 392s are monsters from the factory, if you really want big power then just invest in a hellcat. Otherwise simple bolt ons are more than enough for the 6.4
I agree there a great motor stock, but I disagree about leaving them alone. I gained over 100hp on the dyno from a stock 392 with just a cam, fbo, tune and e85.

He lost because of the compression ratio of the pistons. Meant for boost for longevity. My car is tuned for nitrous so when I’m not spraying, it doesn’t run the best but is still very capable of driving. Off bottle I made 452 wheel, on a 100 shot I made 580... use your common sense.
This is why on those street racing videos you see the forged internal C5 vettes on nitrous just walk! Iwhen they are spraying its like they have an enormous blower. Just saying c5 vette cause we've all seen the red one on that one channel

Idk if this guys car is just some kind of accidental higher output 392 from factory cuz I find it unbelievable that he wins so much. I have a ‘10 ss, headers, tune, Cai, full exhaust. And I only put out 380rwhp with my auto. I’ve beaten two 392’s by about two car lengths. But hey good for him if that’s the case

@@fernandog4009 yea, there's a vid of me on my IG going against a 392srt in my red sport from a roll and dig both and the results were not pretty for the dodge, so this guys stock 392 has secret sauce or something else is up we don't know about off camera. (I'm not an infiniti fanboy, I traded my 392 scat pack before the red sport switch). My Q60 at best is between 410-415hp/440tq at the wheels and it throws down well but for other cars with cams or bolt ons for the 392 they should be fucking Throwing down HARD compared to what's in the video lol
chris s is your q60 tuned? Thats a good amount of power, I thought stock they were rated at 400hp? I gotta admit though, the looks of the new Q60 are fuckin gorgeous in my opinion, if it had a v8 I would consider one. Can’t get over not having the deep exhaust note lol. Always wanted to line up against one but I heard with a good tune alone they can gain almost 100rwhp, those things have potential for sure.

People don't realize that the SRT 392 & the scat pack 392 are not the same. The SRT 392 is, & has everything the hell cat has except for it having a bigger motor without supercharger. The STR is tuned differently, the SRT is the better, & faster car, & why it costs more as well I own one.

I know for fact that they aren't, look up the specs, the srt 392 has larger calipers, roters, better drive modes, all same as hellcat, only difference is the 392 srt has the bigger motor without supercharger, & the Scatpack only has the 392 in it, difference of $10/$20k, & not as much, well I'll let you do your own homework lil bro, if they were the same they wouldn't have two different names to them.
I also built the assembly lines for the big 3 ("Motor City" baby), plus other companies.

Adding more duration with a different cam works great IF you increase static compression, he actually lost power because the increased duration lowered the dynamic compression, it is really weak down low and might catch its breath up top but by then the race is already lost

This is basically how it would be if you raced a non supercharged 6.2 from the hellcat . That engine is built for boost , from the cam, lower compression pistons and the tune. The stock 392 is 10.9:1 basically 11:1 cr, where the scat is probably at 9.5:1 cr. When he adds 10-12 psi , it’s going to move out...still good runs for being a lower compression car and most likely wider cam lobe separation.

He has a forged engine planning for a supercharger so when you do that you drop the compression which will cost you power when you are naturally aspirated.

Speculating; Forged internals weight much more and possibly his static compression ratio is a little lower. Car will rev slower. Therefore, power band come at much later time. If he has a boosted cam, he may have little overlap and little to no scavenger effective effect. Therefore, less torque.
Fair comparison were a stock to stock and long tubes with NA cam and tune.

The Scat Pack was running wider and heavier tires. More rolling resistance and more weight could add into this as well. A dig race could potentially show something hidden there

These engines are engineered pretty damn good out of the factory. You dont really gain anything with long tubes on these 392s. The cam, welp...id be on the phone with my tuner on my way home from this video shoot.

If he really is lying then he is but if we talkin about how the engine looks then thats how it looks cause my brother has a 16' 392 SRT and he got it forged, new race pistons, rods, crank, bigger displacement, long tube headers and other things but when you pop the hood everything looks stock except the headers and intake... definitely a great choice for a sleeper but he's not done cause he's throwing in a whipple so it probably won't look stock anymore 😂😂

Ahh, I believe both of these cars are N/A....so what is the issue about boost?....The guy that had the work done, seemed to make a poor cam choice...forged pistons only allow for more clearance, less cylinder drag,....but, did he up the C.R??, the stock hypereutectics can take a fair amount of load......that Dodge with the modified mill should have powered by the stock one....one thing, you must be real careful when changing camshafts in these engines...
