Yes indeed I'm also a proud owner of a 2016 Challenger SRT 392 with a hellcat airbox K&N drop in filter and Borla catback exhaust. People always underestimate the raw power these cars have most likely due to the hellcat being ridiculously fast but I'm telling you these cars are low end torque monsters and a blast to drive!!
My nephew stopped by with his new 392 charger last fall in “ticket me green” color. One look and I thought I want one of those and was ready to trade in my 2500 Cummins.. took the charger for a “test” drive and decided that even at 62 years old I probably wouldn’t have my license for very long. Still wheeling the Cummins.. LOL
it's a joke he doesn't have a bottle-he doesn't use nitrus , people he races think and accuse him of having nitro. some of his friends put some nitrous stickers on beer cans--i don't think he even put a tune on it.
May not have 500hp but you know what for a solid 435hp and a smooth torque curve it walks all over most bolt on cars over 500hp dodge made this beast with more usable power 392 is insane keep on posting this awesome content thank you

My Widebody Chally makes 430ish to the wheels lol but to my knowledge ford and chevy tend to rate the power more to what it really is, dodge for some reason does it, likely the insurance yes, but think about it, they don't even call the scat SRT anymore and they call it RT cause the insurance is cheaper by even changing the badge😂 tho have to admit, mustang is a pony car, camaro a sport cat, charger...a sedan...not much for the look, but the challenger boi...last actual muscle car...I LOVE it💙
1: Challengers are heavy as hell, beautiful cars though. 2: 392's are no joke, just wish Dodge would forge them from the factory. Would make blowers a much more viable option for those paranoid folks out there. 3: 4th gear is the 1-1 ratio and that is the most accurate dyno number you'll get, 5th and 6th gear pulls are distorted.
My 392 shaker dynod 441hp/446ft-lbs its stock except tazer. Alot of the stock 392 scat packs I've seen are in the 420's hp. I think the shaker with the cold air intake and the shaker hood feeding it much cooler air than a normal 392 scat pack is a fair bit of difference between the numbers on my car so perhaps your hc airbox is helping you a little more than you think and it would squeek out a bit more power being fed cooler air if you were actually driving that fast vs still on the dyno.

I had a 2015 Challenger Scat Pack manual transmission 6.4 and now I am driving a 2020 Mustang GT with Roush Supercharer Stage 2. I telling you than the Scat Pack has more low end torque than my Mystang supercharger. That 6.4 move that heavy car like nothing. Is really amazing engine. Is not replacement for displacement.
I hope you have better luck with yours than i did with my '15 SRT 392 Challenger with the 8 sp auto. At 2 weeks it started falling apart, first the sensors then the radiator (twice), the rear end (twice), performance pages NEVER worked. I'll end it with the stereo took over a year to get the right software installed and it still didn't sound as good as the Dr Dre system in my '13 RT MAX. The trans, the a/c wasn't cold then the #5 cylinder went and destroyed the cam and basicly the whole effing motor going 35mph in my town. 22 scv calls in 24 months and I lemonlawed the damn thing. I've had MOPAR most of my life without a single problem... A 74 340 DUSTER 4 speed, an '06 Charger R/T, a '13 Charger R/T MAX and not one had given me a problem, except the 15 SRT 392. Took my deposit back on the '17 SRT HELLCAT as reports on the reliability have not improved. The claims Dodge made about the DEMON doing 5000 launches without a problem is not the truth either, they blow rearends like you blow you nose when you're sick. I want a HELLCAT but they have alot of work to do on these things. They're selling to many and quality control is overwhelmed, to put it mildly.
My old man owns a 2014 392 and it but down 603hp to the wheel and 628tq at the dino with nothin but a tune and a 150 shot. Those cars are freaks on a bottle.

According to the gauges in my challenger it read 500hp when I floored it on the highway and I had to slow down since I was coming up to cars but it felt like it definitely could keep pulling some more.
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300C with a 5.7 Hemi and when I got it it was fast I mean it only had 225 tires but I would just sit there and spend all day put wider tires and I still spend his car gets up and goes especially when you use autostick it's almost like the spec numbers aren't right

Lol I like how people flip out over numbers that are higher than 425 wheel. It's most likely an overrated dyno, especially if you made almost 450 wheel stock with the 8 speed. An accurate dyno would put you lower. I dynoed on one that said 425 and then went to another dyno and it said 448.
100% Every dyno is different, even if its the same model. To truly compare 2 cars, or find out how much gains a mod is giving you it should be done on the same dyno same shop.

Find yourself a used low mileage 2018 or 17 SRT 392 and u won't be disappointed or regret it because they come fully loaded with every option possible. Scat Packs don't. Options are all extra $$ on Scats
@@richardobryan3909 These cars typically put down around 420-425rwhp & 425-430rwtq SAE on a Dynojet bone stock. His put down 448/458 STD or 437/447 SAE. That's roughly 15rwhp & 20rwtq more than stock. I don't think the Hellcat lower airbox would add more than 5rwhp so I think the rest of the HP increase is from an aftermarket 93 octane tune. A tune will invariably smooth out the 4700-4900rpm dip in the stock torque curve that's caused by the ECU protecting the cats from overheating.
@@DJDinaggio same setup (airbox only) I got 445/457. Added throttle body and 93 tune and got 471/475(and it was 20 degrees hotter outside than my first dyno day)

So you're making close to 520 at the crank. Most people have said scats actually make closer to to 500 instead of 485 so that makes sense. These cars are also supposed to be beat on. Dodge knows what they're doing with the hemis except for the 5.7. You'll loose reliability if you constantly baby it and idle it because of the way the oil galleries are designed around the cam lol
475 or 485 crank horsepower. Wheel horsepower is going to be lower due to drivetrain losses, which is typically 15%. He should be putting a little over 400 to the wheel, so either the Dyno is inaccurate or he's lying about it being stock 🤦🏾♂️
I think the the gearing is the biggest part of the numbers, because you'res has 3.09 gearing, while my scatpack which is 6spd manual has 3.90 gearing, and my dyno numbers which were only in 4th gear, were 440hp and 413tq.
It's not a freak not only does that not happen anymore but he's over 520 crank with 15% drivetrain loss he has something done to it. The hellcat lower airbox isn't giving him 40hp....

I'd bet those saying 415/420 are getting numbers from a Mustang Dyno while those saying 435+ are running on Dynojets. Different types of dyno and different ways of getting numbers.
I am a Ford and Pontiac fanatic. I have an 86 Mustang GT all stock except for a flowmaster exhaust and 32k miles and an 89 turbo trans am all stock with 8k miles. I have had a few Dodge Durangos and just picked up a 2020 Durango RT. I cannot say how impressed I am with the power and how fast an SUV of this size is. I can only imagine the SRT. Dodge is not joke.

My car makes 420 whp runs 11.8s took me a some work to get it there. I gap scat packs on tires at the track. They run good not saying there slow but it took me time and money to out run them.

Dyno measures in wheel horsepower, not crank horsepower. About 15percent drive train loss

@@fallback8314 I agree. I've seen them even trap 115 in great weather. But just saying. Dynos are useless in my opinion unless you've a baseline for future mods.
My Daytona charger put down 430hp and 444 lb tf tq from a 4th gear pull.

I'd bet those saying 415/420 are getting numbers from a Mustang Dyno while those saying 435+ are running on Dynojets. Different types of dyno and different ways of getting numbers.
No they all vary a little from car to car but 430+is normal
Have you had it on the track to see what times it runs?
You need to put it in the gear that is closest to 1:1. If you don't the numbers get severely skewed
6th was 1:1 and his 4th and 5th pulls were practically the same so ya.....

I am a Ford and Pontiac fanatic. I have an 86 Mustang GT all stock except for a flowmaster exhaust and 32k miles and an 89 turbo trans am all stock with 8k miles. I have had a few Dodge Durangos and just picked up a 2020 Durango RT. I cannot say how impressed I am with the power and how fast an SUV of this size is. I can only imagine the SRT. Dodge is not joke.
With that power, 11,89's should be possible with decent tires.
Different gears will have different numbers Dyno in a 1:1 or as close to that as possible. However a Dyno jet will read higher than a mustang Dyno

ctobias1984 let’s see it lmao. Easy to say it but I watched many guys on my channel that thought 11s and ran 13s lmao. Dynos are cool for bragging the track shows the truth. My car makes 420 whp runs 11.8s took me a some work to get it there. I gap scat packs on tires at the track. They run good not saying there slow but it took me time and money to out run them.
