You can't pry a door that's locked, whether it has power or not. If a door lost power while unlocked, that's when prying comes in handy. If you encounter a locked unpowered door on a derelict, the fastest way through them is to just uninstall a couple walls next to it. Scrapping or removing doors takes forever. They're also not even worth hauling back to sell, unless the Fixer randomly wants one badly.
The a battery charger will actually fit on the conduit next to the intake regulator, thing with blue N2 canister attached, in the "engineering compartment". Talking about intake regulators. If you actually do manage to find a Miura Hydra intake regulator, the thing you tried to steal in character creation, definitely keep it instead of selling it. It's worth a lot but the convenience of having all those N2 canisters attached to one part instead of one per each regulator is just ever so good. And no you can't sell your first one for quick cash and keep the second one, those things are incredibly rare. You'll more than make up the money you could've made with the increased fuel capacity.
In your apartment you missed the fridge on the North side. That's where you will typically get some food and drink to start with. It's actually a good idea to hold off on getting the salvage license till later since you start the day halfway through the shift. That means much of the license time will be lost after your shift when you need to sleep and rest. Instead you can get a few easy thousands by doing errant gigs on the station to also build up your contacts and get familiar with the different locations.
It's best to buy your salvage license right before leaving the dock. They cost you over $200 an hr so repairing and doing other tasks after you have purchased the license can be cost prohibitive.
After the livestream incidents, I'm surprised Q didn't buy the license after completing all repairs & outfitting - basically, leaving it until absolutely the last thing before leaving, to maximise its time limit
He would want to use it for selling the stuff off his ship ... it gets complicated, with needing the money from selling stuff to buy the equipment to make the repairs go quicker :/
@@danielbudney7825 Can still make use of the 'never taken off' alleviation to reduce initial costs (tho buying correct tools would be useful too) while repairing; the point is to gin as much salvage time as possible before return becomes imperative: you may even manage to grab enough stuff for 2 runs (I doubt you'd make 3, but depends) before needing to extend the licence

Most of the tools you'll come across regularly, but CHARGERS and spare batteries are essential to your salvage work. The soldering iron will get lots of use too, as the means to restore your tools and batteries to working order. Usually my tool kit is the welder, soldering iron, screwdriver, crowbar and grinder. With skills, it's pretty much all you need. Until you get your laser welder. Mmmmm..... laser welder goodness.....
I wish I could look past things like UI styling and fonts and rounded corners vs straight corners and colour pallets etc.... The UI for this game is really low-grade but I feel like it could be an amazing game.
The license is good for 24 hours? I wonder if you should buy that just before you leave the station to have max use out of it. Wouldnt want to pay $5000 for 24 hours and then spend half that walking around the station and making repairs.
24 hours is a lot in this game. Everything is in real time. I usually can make 2-3 trips on one pass. Plus when you buy a new one, you can sell your old expired pass for roughly $2.5k The passes are pretty easy to keep up with

man, i really like this game, but the graphics are just killing me! and its not the graphics that is the issue, its the "everything seems to blend in together" issue. kinda wish they went with a bolder look with outlines to clearly tell you what is a item and what is in the background. I am getting use to it, but i still wish the aesthetic were better and clearer asitt will benefit the game tremendously - especially when you have people who are curious, but is turn off by the messy look.
