H/H match update: Betty was the first celebrity chosen this week and gave a good answer, but didn't match the contestant. Bert is back -- will he get another shot at the H/H match? Stay tuned... Mary Ann Mobley is back as well. She's been chosen 4 times, but hasn't yet matched in the H/H. Gary matched the one time he was selected, but he so often gives a ridiculously poor (or no) answer to the audience match question, and I think that turns off the contestants when it's time to choose one celebrity to match... Anyway, here's the updated leader board showing the *10* celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: TIE: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 52% (13 wins in 25 attempts). Fannie - 46.2% (6 wins in 13 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 34.6% (63 wins in 182 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Brett - 32.1% (9 wins in 28 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 381, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
Bert's response to "Nobody's ..." brought back an OLD memory from high school. My girlfriend bought me a bookmark that said "Pobody's Nerfect." It was her joke because I had an affinity for quoting Spoonerisms then. Thank you for allowing me to overshare.
I forgot to comment on the last episode or even read them, but how about Joyce and 3 matches in a row? I'll have to go back to that episode and read your comment. 😊
4:09 Betty and Richard's warm friendship is a beautiful thing. I know there was drama behind the scenes because RD was unhappy careerwise, but I think he was comparatively happy when she was on the panel and always treated her with due respect. They were like office spouses. Whether there was a spark, who knows, but I'm sure there was never any funny business... other than the business of being funny (and making each other laugh off camera - I wish we could hear more of what they said and see the notes they passed).
@@karenbougher1219 With all due respect, I look at this from the view of a contestant who took, say, a year to get on the show. Why should the contestant laugh off an early elimination because a celebrity tells unfunny jokes and answers unintelligently? If a celebrity gives great answers and a contestant continues to answer stupidly, then they are fair game, too.
@@karenbougher1219 If you were a contestant, it meant whether you were winning money or going home. In that light it becomes more serious than just a fun game show.

Writers were really having an off day with terrible questions. That includes the "Little House" question, since I think no-brainer questions that result (or should result) in 5-6 matches are as bad as the questions that have too many possible good answers or are pretty much nonsensical and invite silly answers.

Man, now watching these episodes with Betty White makes me sad. She was such a gem on this show, and she always will be one. Rest in peace, Betty.

The NBC executives fired Michael Landon when they found out that the Little House on the Prairie was an outhouse

I agree with the outhouse answer. That's what I was thinking.
they couldn't fire him he owned the rights to little house
That's what Betty said.
When Gene does his funny voices for questions, I wish he would read it straight at least once… Sometimes, I completely misunderstand a word.

Inconsistent judging again. "Bat boy" should not have matched "vampire".
Ira was afraid Betty would beat him up backstage so he awarded the match. (j/k, obviously)
