I get the "stranger" answer. Someone who has too much loco weed would act strange. The problem with the question was that they threw New York City in there, so that threw everybody off from the loco/stranger connection.
The question about lone ranger going to New York was terrible. The writers should have been fired. Everybody were confused, the celebrities, contestants and the audience. Even Gene was confused but he didn't want to show it and accept it. He never criticized the questions. He criticized the celebrities and the contestants calling them dummies. IT was the questions and the writers who wrote them were super dumb.
No, late MG74 he say a question was rotten and didn't believe anyone would even get the answer they trying to get. According to Gene he had a argument with the Ira, I guessing, before the show taping. It was about You heard of Monte Hall well India ver of Match Game is hosted by blank Hall or something alone that lines. Richard was the only one that got the answer the writers were look for, Montazooma Hall, but Gene though it was a rotten question. I think he has called some of the MG77 question rotten as well..
