Please do more. I really struggle with my own thoughts sometimes. Your videos allow me to escape my reality for a few minutes. Thanks Alex.
Totally admiring your verve, nerve and overall Chutzpah Alex. It's takes all of that to head off by yourself, get yourself about, pick up cars drive to wherever. I've been following your vanning so this came out of the blue and thoroughly enjoyed this too. Take it easy, keep safe. Regards Callum
Hi Alex another great adventure 🙂 I'm buying a ford connect soon to convert to a micro camper, can't afford a caddy haha but really exited. Gonna slowly travel the UK probably won't film it though. I'm 51 and not too savvy wi' cameras or editing etc. Anyhow look forward to your next video. You're a pleasure to watch mate. 👍 Peace and love 🙏
After having done something physical during the day in winter (ice fishing for example). When you are both cold and hot and sweaty at the same time all day. And then a sauna to get completely warm and clean and a shower. Then just relax for the evening. There is nothing that makes you feel more cleaner or more relaxed. Its quite incredible. Its something I always remember from my childhood (grandparents were from Finland). When it comes to sauna its the finnish people that use them the most, apparently there are saunas everywhere over there. Here in Sweden its not at all as common, but many larger gyms and hotels etc do have them. They are not unusual to find here, just not part of the culture as much as in Finland. Nice to see Stockholm from your point of view!
I soloed Stockholm for a day as well! It was late November and I got snowed in all over. I found this video after the fact and it was so charming to feel like I was walking around those streets, alone with my thoughts. I must go again in the warmer months ☺️
and if your still in Sweden, Mariefred is a must small town to visit!! only 40min down the motorway frow Stockholm, beautiful castle, steam coal driven train that takes you around, kings park that you walk in and walk with the elk that roam there freely!!
If you want to see cities more beautiful than Stockholm, you really should visit Germany, especially Bavaria and Franconia , so much beauty, also the fishing aspect is incredible, I spend my time walking in nature here, so many micro streams, with amazing fish, I don't fish anymore, but do enjoy feeding fish that I can only describe as “ Wild Barbel" and also the most beautiful Carp, they have become my friends, and after that, I get to drink the best beer in the world that only costs 2 quid ,and eat a great meal of fresh hunted meat. :) Really Love your journey Alex , keep doing what you are doing, mate, you are inspiring a lot of people in so many ways, :):):)
What a beautiful city! Thanks for showing us around. I reckon you will go back there some day Alex. You have certainly put it on my map of places to visit in Europe now.
I just wanted to write that Mr. Alex can confidently go to Sweden. I was now in Stockholm in June with my brother, he works and lives in Sweden (I am Poland) and my brother points out that most Swedes use English in addition to their own Swedish, you can use English when ordering something or asking for directions.
Cheers from the country side of Sweden! Yes, it can be kind of pricy in Stockholm to buy food and fika. Just in a few months our prices overall has gone up 10-50% in our supermarkets and we are going in to a recession. Also our fuel prices has gone up by 50% since last year. Hope you go for more saunas, they are awesome.
The 975k population is for the municipality of Stockholm. The population for the city proper is 1,5 million and 2,4 million for the whole Stockholm county.
I just discovered your channel and I can say... I am so glad you got out of britain and is dicovering what life has to offer. You are an inspiration. I'm also glad you enjoyed our Capital
I know this isn't your usual video, but I loved it! Got to see a city I've always wanted to visit, and your infectious positivity keeps shining through.
Happy to see once again the city! I've been there many many years ago in 2002. Thank you for making this vlog and my warm regards from the Philippines!!!
If you ever come to Stockholm again, make sure to visit Skansen, which was across the street from the ABBA museum You can see traditional Swedish culture and buildings and it’s also a zoo at the same time
Saunas are great for cleaning the skin as they cause you to sweat it draws all the dirt and impurities out so when you get out and shower it all off your left with super clean skin. We have one at work it runs between 90-110c and its reccomended you spend no more than 15-20mins in there at a time between cooling off. Steam rooms have the same effect but they work faster at a lower temp and are good for clearing out your throat and lungs.
Wow, Alex, this was just great! the go-pro idea worked great. Can't wait to see more of your videos. You are doing great and your content is really super!
A great video Alex. My Son has been living out in Sweden for the past 3 years and has loved it. He and his girlfriend lived out in Solleftea but gradually are moving closer to Stockholm.
🙏 welcome to Stockholm! Enjoy! Shops close rather early compare to London. During day time recommended not to walk on bike lanes, can be hit by bikes. Go Fika, Vetekatten is 👍 👌 12:52 you missed the narrowest street when you turned. If you had gone and stopped before Järntorget, youshould have seen it.
Alex I am a 48 year old single man who loves camping and outdoors. Carl has a great gig with the fish deal but this is more my gig that you are doing. Why? Well I can do things as much as I used to be, I had serious heart surgery last year to repair an ascending aorta aneurysm and also had a stroke. Anyway, I am loving your videos and I hope you don't think I'm ancient! :) I am from South Carolina. Live in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, USA. You should come more over to the US when you can. I wish I could live in England, oh well! Take care and the best to you and your family.
I woke at 4, started watching, fell asleep just before the end and had a dream you'd moved into my place and my place had turned into a coffee shop and bookstore. Not sure if that is a negative or positive reflection on the video....but was happy to watch the rest when I woke later.
For your next visit in Sweden, I recommend going to the area of Omberg by the lake Vättern and taking the ferry over to Visingsö. You can't drive on the island unless you live there but they have horse-drawn carriages and bike rentals etc. (Also, Omberg is beautiful for hiking and horseriding!) You take the ferry from Gränna, which is famous for candy canes and it's a super darling little town with small cobble streets and old gorgeous houses! Very picturesque! Can be very full of tourists though, so plan ahead. The nature in Småland and Östergötland is very beautiful in my opinion. Lots of woodland, lakes and fields. Very peaceful and magical by the forest lakes! Småland is also where IKEA is from and they have a museum that's supposed to be pretty good I think. 😄
"here smells of cinnamon" brilliant!! its interesting that you mentioned it cause i personally get put of visiting big cities just cause of the unbearable smell they produce!! i myself am from Lithuania but lived in Northern Ireland for over 13yeats, then moved to Sweden (50km from Stockholm) and must agree that Sweden had absolutely amazing nature and in general a relaxed atmosphere!! great videos keep them going!!
Our king Carl XVI Gustav he is very kind. He is related to queen Victoria of the UK. He is also related to jean Baptiste Bernadotte one of Napoleon Bonaparte's generals hench his last name is French. The second built Ikea is also the second largest in the world. And is located aprox 15 km from Sthlm city. The exterior was inspired by Guggenheim museum in NY. You missed that. Maybe next time. 😉
If you were there last week you may have walked past my wife. She was in Stockholm for two days as part of a Baltic Cruise (she’s an onboard art tutor). She loves Stockholm.
2 421 325 in Stockholm county/region. But the municipality of stockholms stad ( Stockholm city) has 980 260. According to latest count on 31or march 2022.
