after one and half year in Canada , I can honestly say the nature of Canada is unparalleled ! as a nature lover and outdoorsy person, it is a dream like ! lived in BC for a year I been to most mountains , lakes and major attractions ! now living in saskatoon the skies of sask are unbelievable also endless lakes and rolling hills 😍😍
After dreaming of coming to Canada for the past 7 years. We've finally made it. We are a British family and very much grateful and glad that we get to explore and call Canada home for the next few years, hopefully longer. I think the majority of what you've said is spot on. Great video.
Personally, I prefer UK over Canada because of work-life balance. I am passionate about travelling, and by living in the UK, I can easily visit 3-4 countries every year because of its proximity to Europe and more vacation days.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I like the mountains and national parks in Canada, but I can't imagine moving there and living in a place like Toronto or Québec City.
Personally I would choose the Britain, mostly because of the vibe of it, and also because I have some friends living in the uk 🇬🇧. But in Canada I would be alone. Apart from these two things, Canada is also an appealing place to live and you can explore different cultures and places in it. 🌼
I've visited the UK multiple times, and honestly, when comparing Canada to the UK, I’d choose Canada. Despite challenges like economic slowdowns, inflation, carbon taxes, etc. Canada stands out as an excellent country for working with international businesses. Its strong economic ties to the European Union, the United States, and Commonwealth member states (facilitated by agreements like CETA and USMCA) make it a hub for global trade and collaboration. Canada also offers streamlined visa systems that enable workers with EU or Canadian passports to move easily, creating opportunities for flexible mobility, which is invaluable for international professionals. In contrast, the UK faces significant economic challenges, including stark disparities in productivity between London and other regions. Post-Brexit, the UK has experienced economic decline and has become more insular, having left the world's largest free market for jobs and trade 🇪🇺 However, the UK does show promise in the AI industry, where it benefits from fewer restrictive regulations compared to the European Union. As an EU citizen, if I were to move to another European country, the UK would not be my preference. The declining economy and restrictive visa policies for EU citizens-aside from limited bilateral agreements, such as with France-make it less appealing. As an Italian who chose to move to Canada, I recognize there may not be significant economic advantages compared to the most productive EU countries. However, Canada offers a unique melting pot culture, a dynamic international job market, and a deep respect and inclusivity for neurodivergent individuals like me. The one thing I do miss in Canada is the convenience of inexpensive Ryanair flights across Europe! Lorenzo 🇮🇹🇪🇺
Great video, this makes total sense to me. I often feel like a lonely voice explaining that we have it pretty good compared to our peers. I'd love to see Germany, France, and Italy. Heck, do a G7 playlist. I think many of our fellow Canadians might be surprised to learn that we aren't a failed state, as I see SO many videos talking about how terrible it is to live in Canada. If you move to a huge world class city like Toronto or Vancouver, which also rank top 5 in the world in many liveability indexes, is it surprising that these are also some of the most expensive cities on Earth? No. Keep up the good work! Good luck in your future ventures!
As a British person who migrated to Canada in 2020, this is fascinating. Thank you! You both should be journalists!! Better than a lot of awful stuff you see on the mainstream news channels. Actually informative, educational, and actually impartial. You closed out with the best question...where is HOME? Everyone has different experiences and identities that answer this question. I think it is really important to consider the idea of developed and developing. These are highly capitalist terms created by western society. Can UK and Canada really call themselves developed when we have an individualistic society with limitless greed, homelessness, addictions, and real tangible poverty in ways we thought we had seen the end of?? More a rhetorical question but worth considering i think :) thanks again!!
Thank you for advocating for Canada! It's an amazing country and all the pros you discussed here make Canada very easy to fall-in-love with. A lot of the sentiment for Canada is all doom-and-gloom at the moment but if we look outside our borders, we're doing relatively well. Not to say we should stay compliant and be happy with status quo, there's alway room to improve and this is where we should focus our energies to rather than fruitless complaining.
You should take into consideration the quality of cuisines. I traveled in the UK in 2012 and I struggled to find good cuisine in the several restaurants that I have been to. It was expensive and disappointing. There are several festivals in Montreal and other cultural activities, maybe not as much as in London though.
London has a history of having very, very, very wealthy and well travelled people, it’s going to cost a lot to experience the good life in England. Plus you can easily go to other European cities to experience more culture within hours. Canada is very different when it comes to wealth, you have very low key old money and the obnoxious new immigrant wealth. Canada is about natural beauty and England is about a long history and culture.
UK: Traditions, Culture and Proximity to Europe CANADA: Vast Nature, Climate Choices, Natural Resources, Neighbors to US(There are Pros and Cons) My limited simple mind choice CANADA😊❤!
UK for: culture, work-life balance (way of life in general), transportation and proximity to other countries/cultures (and actually having plenty of free time to travel) Canada for: Mountains and national parks So, living in the UK and traveling to Canada is the only option for me lol
@@sudhirmaisker3146 Sooner or later, certain folks from the States gotta choose between Canada and Australia👀 You know after the second term of Trump Presidency begins in January 2025 💯
Australia definitely has the better weather and beaches but it is more remote and you need to take a plane to get out of the country. Canada has better nature (arguably) because it has the rockies and more varied places to visit/explore such as Quebec, where it is mostly French speaking and has a different culture+vibe. You also can always drive or fly down to the USA next door and it's pretty cool to have the most powerful country as our neighbour. Both countries are quite similar otherwise and have the same issue with unaffordable housing and inflation. Overall as a Canadian, I'm biased perhaps but I wouldn't find Australia better than Canada enough to want to immigrate there.
I’m not quite sure your calculations are reliable. The median isn’t the point at which half the houses cost more and half cost less. A $10m house on one side of the equation would balance 20 x $500k houses on the other.
We didn’t come up with a median definition. Antoine Augustin Cournot was the first to use the term in 1843. Not sure I understand your statement about balancing. A median is just a reference point, not an absolute value to live by.
Housing in the UK is old and in terrible condition. They have some of the oldest housing in the EU. Not only that, but housing is small and expensive, filled with damp and mold! I like the UK but would never live there again.
I just returned from England after a month in Europe. England, France, Ireland. It must be hard for a society that lorded it over the planet to have to give all that up and join the human race. I also saw a lot that was designed to impress. The parliament buildings are the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. We have nothing like that in Canada. I was not impressed with all the street crime. Basically pickpockets. It was like something out of a Dickens novel. Never had a problem like that in Canada. I guess in Canada the government picks your pocket. I wonder when they will do a comparison with Russia.
Thanks for sharing. Comparing Canada to Russia doesn’t make much sense. Why would you compare a developed country to a developing country? that’s an unfair competition. 🥲

You must correct an aspect about Medicare in Canada. It is possible to get all services on a private basis, if one can afford it.

Both are dumpster fires. Choose neither...

Why do you live together? Are you lesbians??? I can't tell if you are a couple. The lady with brown hair looks like lesbian, but not the blonde.
Why are you interested in it? Why do you ask with stupid/idiot/no sense stereotype considerations?
Unfortunately these days too many adults can’t afford to live alone, you have to get a friend to share expenses or live with family.
