I just bought a new house and have been thinking about how to organize. Perfect timing for this video. Sometimes I don’t button my shirts on the hanger so to prevent them from slipping off wooden hangers I glued a strip of felt to the top.
Try utilizing an acrylic lazy Susan (with sides) for organizing products under your bathroom sink. I use 2 and have a very organized area and am able to turn it to see all my products. I use it under my kitchen sink as well. It’s the best thing!
Under sink i use a slide out drawer and line the sides with cardboard so the tall items (shampoo) won't fall over. You can also insert a plastic open top container from the dollar store or Walmart
Wow...Great tips. I have placed orders for almost every organisational item, that you have mentioned. Thank you! I was tempted to get a professional to come help me sort out my wardrobe and everything. Keep up the good work❤
Love every time you do one of these. I got the pants hangers last time and they are a game changer. Gonna try the drawer divider, I can use some more organization there. Thanks!
'quadruple zero' is called 4 aught (4/0). Also Kirby Allison has the best (although expensive) hangers I've ever seen. Bought a closet full years ago and never regretted it.
As usual John you seem to improve my life every time I watch one of your videos. The closet ideas are amazing. Also, as a long time follower, you are looking fine my friend. Keep fighting the good fight. Cheers Paul.
Hi John . Speaking of showers I have a shower hack for those who have a frosted glass shower . To disguise the hard water stains spray WD-40 on the glass and work it in with a paper towel covering the entire surface . Then take another paper towel to buff off the excess . Good bye hard water stains . Even though it's a temporary fix it's a great thing to do if you're going to have company over and they need to use your bathroom to disguise the stains. 🙂✌
Hey. I’m Sure I’m beating a dead horse but 41, been in a rut but honestly haven’t taken care of myself over the past 20 years. When I was younger cared about my look, was active and dressed well. Well 20 years later I’ve been more physically active and now trying to get myself feeling and looking my best. Would love a video on this topic for the guy in his early 40s who’s trying to put it back together again, Thank you Tom
I live in the UK, very very hard water. 1. Use daily shower spray after every shower. 2. Once a week use a good bathroom spay cleaner with a scratchy pad, like you would use in the kitchen I haven't had a problem since I started this quite a few years ago.
Good to know I’m not the only bloke organising clothes like this! 😂 If paying for quality gear you got to look after it 👍 Maybe need to get some of those sturdy hangers for my sweaters/cardigans though and the belt organiser is something i didnt even know existed. Thanks for all the great advice - watched dozens of your videos over last few weeks and have made many positive changes to my wardrobe and style , just today got a lovely pair of Loake Franklins £79 in their summer sale 😊. Happy days.
Hi John! Great video. Just checked the window cleaner (12 oz Rain▪︎x) at Walmart has it for about $5 less. Also, there are many complaints about the shoe storage bins. The doors were breaking. Response from the Container Store says they have improved the doors, but still very expensive for a plastic product! I've been watching your videos for a while now and you always have some great ideas. Keep on and stay strong. You are correct, you'll be fine!
Shower Glass and Tile Cleaning Tip: put a couple of tablespoons of dish soap in a spray bottle and fill the rest up with distilled white vinegar. Dish soap breaks down the soap scum and vinegar breaks up mineral deposits. Spray on, let soak 10-20 minutes, then scrub with soft bristle brush. 😊
Hey, good eye! If the sleeves are already rolled up, chances are I recently wore them in a UA-cam video. That usually takes about 30 minutes or so. Not dirty enough to wash, but it also lets me know what I’ve previously worn, and that it’s good to go for a day out.
I'm more of an Ikea guy. Spending a day lost in a maze trying to find my significant other, working on my stoicism by trying not to punt some pudgy little whiny bastard kid in front of me like a football and it all comes with a hotdog and cinnamon rolls as well as well as an evening of frustration assembling my Fjüketall model doo dad when I get home. Good times 🎉
Lots of great tips John. Those pant hangers are awesome, one of my pet peeves too is those awful shoulder bumps on my sweaters, they remind me of Popeye! LOL! Our hard water sucks!! I like the idea of using the drill, but would be very careful with it. My solution is white vinegar, that will take most of the deposits off, then you could do a light scrub. You are so organized it's a little scary, just kidding!! I'm jealous! once again, Legend!
Curious…as I find myself getting older…the appeal of having many options versus higher quality fewer options and a more refined color palette is saving my closet. I don’t need the perfect shirt for the just right moment only to sit there 364 days a year. There is something to having “dead” inventory. Shoes can easily morph into that too. This looks borderline “high maintenance”. No offense…I get it. And I lived it.
Hey John! In no way do I think you are extreme. Like you, I color coordinate, separate my short sleeve and long sleeve shirts and I also separate my jeans from chinos and dress pants. My problem is that I have way too much of almost everything including shoes. I’m very good at helping others organize and dispose of clothing that need to be trashed/donated but when it comes to myself I fail. Love your ideas but I am deficient getting rid of my own clothing.
What is your suggestion for clothes that have been worn once but aren't ready for the washing machine yet? Typically wear two or three times before hitting the laundry. How do you keep these separate from unworn items in the closet? I've just been piling them on the ground in a corner; not the best solution.
I generally wear pants a few times before washing. I put them back on the hanger and put them at one end of the rack, so I know the last items I’ve worn. Always hang back up.
Hey John I really enjoy this type of content. That being said I have a suggestion for you and your collection of shoes. Invest in shoe trees!! They will keep your shoes in there proper shape and your shoes will love you for that. Also, I guess its me but have you thought of cleaning or polishing the shoes before putting them on camera? You wouldn't film in a dirty room. Just a few suggestions from a super fan.
I cannot recommend anything to sir because you are light years ahead of me. I tune in to your channel to get ideas that I am planning to implement this July and August since it's vacation time for me in my country. On top of that I am a Batchelor
Bro.... classy biker look! Not every biker is a low down dirty criminal and I'd like to get a look. I ride a Honda Fury 2023 it's yellow. Classie but now I need a biker business look. One that days sharp
@@gregs.8895 The continuous temperature changes. I keep mine on the bedroom and where the sun never hit them. I do not keep all the boxes but it is a good idea to keep them so the box also protect them. Remember that the expiration date of a fragrance is about 3 year from the first use. But this time can be shorter or longer depending on where and how you store them.

Yeah, I wanted to say it that way, but I wasn’t sure everyone would understand.

Mr Clean magic erasers do wonders for shower glass as well
Buy a bottle of acid wash frome detail geek sites. It's super. Just spray on and wash away with water
Thanks for the suggestion!
You always showcase the Koolist stuff 😅those boxes are what I need! Lots of two toned shoes 👞 in my collection! Thank for the insight John 😊

I have spent a ridiculous amount of time and money looking for ways to clean my shower glass. I'll give the Rain-X a try!
And the steel wool!
Problem with the hangers is it takes up a lot of space. if you have a small, closet you can't hang all your clothes!!

Interesting! Surprised to see L/S shirts on the hanger with the sleeves rolled up. Do you do this after ironing so it's ready to go?

I know you live in CA but living in NYC you are lucky to havean apartment the size of a closet!! Maybe a little over dramatic.

Where did you buy the shirt you are wearing? Nice material and fit!

I use a squeegee after showering on the glass etc. No spots

Elfa small runners frame and wire baskets from container store for under cabinet bathroom storage.
