@maskednil Beelink is a brand I've used that's pretty cheap, many new models on amazon are at the same price or lower that the set up in the video, with more power, more ports, and not ARM. and wayyyyyyy cheaper if you're willing to buy used.
Yeah I agree with this. I’ve just picked up a Dell Optiplex 7050M. £60. Has more powerful cpu and iGPU, plus sata and nvme. 4x usb 3 ports and Intel quick sync on the gpu works with JellyFin Plesk etc.
Love the form factor of this case. Much better than slapping the NVME on the top: maximise volume by putting the NVME above the replacement full-sized HDMI ports. Genius!
I like this better also. I always worried about stacking a NVMe over or under the pi itself because of heat but putting them side by side is a really good idea. The pi is already so small I don't think it is mandatory to stack the NVMe or even when moving ports around.
Me too. I remember people saying the PS3 would never have emulators because it was a super processor and now it runs on a computer the size of a credit card.
What a great looking case! Thanks for the easy overclocking tutorial! I'm considering something like this so that I can test with Windows ARM since those newer laptops are pretty darn expensive.
Power consumption and a large community. I remember back in the day buying a kick started pi clone and not being able to do anything with it because I'm not smart enough, lol. Every arm device other than the pi is the same for me, just not smart enough to get things running on it but the pi has a lot running thanks to a large community.
I like the argonone case a little more, but i do like that you can access the sd card as needed in this case. I had a not great experience with their pi4 deskpi case for 2.5" hard drives, so i would be a little hesitant on getting this one.
Not bad but personally instead a pi 5 with that case for 160$ without the ssd I would prefer odroid x4 + case + 16Gb ddr5 4800 (150$ + p.p)that comes almost the same price and is way better. The Pi with the case look awesome but is not so quick as n97 .
I admire your work, and I really like your videos. Your reviews and technical demonstrations are excellent. But I always ask myself, why so much Spider-Man? Always Spider-Man? Sometimes I get discouraged when I see yet another Spider-Man run.
Don't forget Ps2, Wii, and Gamecube emulation on this as well. PS3 is just experimental for Pi5. But, we am more interested in what it can actually run well?
Damm very tiny bdw Can you test helldivers 2 on Ryzen 5 5500 u laptop i really want to play with friends but idk if it will run .. needed to know worth buying the game now with these specs
Cool 😮 ... the pi's are making a good progress ... i think that what is missing in pi is just a more powerfull cpu/gpu ... if we have an 2x3Ghz + 4x2Ghz + 2x1Ghz cpu and a >= 800mhz gpu (maybe powerVR) will fill specs for an real home pc.
I would replace my PC with a pi. I think the only thing holding me back is running Orca Slicer for my printers and it looks like that might run, maybe, it is difficult to find out. I did have a M1 mac mini that I used because it was low power but it died and since I can't fix it I'm not buy another mac. So for my main leave-on-24/7 I use my GPD WinMax 2 running Linux Mint but really don't need the power, I should only be using it when I play games. The pi 4 just didn't have enough power when I tried to use it for a desktop so I got my M1 mac mini to not feel as bad with power usage. I might give the Pi 5 a try though, if it can watch youtube, run my slicer, and run bittorrent it will be good enough for most daily activity and if I want more I can turn on my WinMax2. Oh, and run cinnamon because the Pi OS looks like crap.
Having any dropped frames in UA-cam playback in this day and age is unacceptable especially when other sbcs in the same price range have managed to sort it out. I'd never buy a pi they're way overpriced now and for the same price or less you can get a sbc that has 3 times the performance of the pi and software and drivers to support it.
After you buy the Pi, the case, and the SSD, you could have just bought a way more powerful mini PC for the same or cheaper cost.
What recommendations do you have?

I like the idea of using the Pi & a daughter board to keep access to the Pi's ports but also expand them
seeing a PS3 game running on a raspberry pi is absolutely breaking my brain! its like the future is now
Me too. I remember people saying the PS3 would never have emulators because it was a super processor and now it runs on a computer the size of a credit card.
@@exodous02 and its volunteer, enthusiast coders that have ported it. Emulators are made by insanely talented anonymous people

You can also set it use PCI gen 3 speeds in the raspi-config utility through terminal. Sudo raspi-config / advanced options
Have you tried the M.2 Oculink adapter for raspberry pi 5 Linux distro for gaming?
dang. I just ordered a different case, and now I have to order this one to decide which one I like best 😁. Happy holidays!
Which case did you order?
It's not clear why someone need it. If for small mini PC - Intel n100. If ARM workstation - some ampere mobo with normal DIMMS, pci-e etc
The pi desktop was an idea that was born when they used to be cheap. Now you can just buy a used x86 mini pc for the same price.
I didn't even know raspberry Pis were available these days. They used to be perpetually out of stock weren't they?
N100 🎉

@@skycloud4802 I know, I SHOULD have sold off all my pi modules back then. It had to do with the supply issues during the pandemic.

The interfaces are all on one side, which is a good design.
Lmao I messaged them about seeing if they planned on releasing this, just a few weeks ago
Can you make a video: AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 working on the ONEXPLAYER X1 AMD Ryzen™ 7 8840U?
I found that less frames are dropped if you keep stock clocks
What do you think about 4k hdmi upscalers @ETAPRIME ?
DudeI Love Ur Hexagon Background 🔥
That's really cool. Nice with the pi.

I'm still rocking my DeskPi 4 for my NAS with OMV!!!
Whats happen to the new RISC arm, any new in future?
Cool video love your content ❤️❤️
I would like to see how to Fedora distro on this and how does it work in performance.
Look at All Those Holes I Love It

Can this run windows

The pi foundation should build something similar, with more accessible nvme, for use by media centre and office productivity people.
very nice, i wonder how it compares to mini pcs.

Man I wish you would do some more reviews of other SBC computers. Raspberry Pi is so expensive where I am.
This DeskPi Lite 5 is much faster and can freeze his opponents
Maybe buy a pi500 instead ?
Great video! Been looking for something to do with the Pi 5. Looks like I may have found it.
Can it play Crisis?
No 😂

Try Fyde OS in it
Why not tun video demos on 2x??
Its way more cpu intensive, and while not what everyone uses, it does test these PCs much more
Didn't know that steam link was available for pi5
Neat compare it with n100
I believe Jeff Geerling did. The usual suspects wanted him tarred and feathered. Short version, if you don't needs the pins, what's the point?

oh-this-cut right before picture became a total pixel mess :D
Nice
I always just think to myself this is neat but who is this for?
maybe fit for who has a Raspberry Pi 5 but without case?
Oh yeah a pi, so you can make back the 160 you spent on electricity bill within 2 decades, while raging at everything being slow.
Why would you expose GPIO when you're building a "desktop"?
given my experience with the deskpi pro v3 i wouldn't touch anything from this lot with a barge pole. software support is an absolute farce.
The title is misleading and feels more like a disguised advert.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
the moment the PI were high on prices, it doesnt matter, it's not the best solution, not the easier, not the most productive. too expensive
Lost me at Raspberry Pi5.
just what i need for a hidden Emulation box behind my monitor

35 for a case for a pi? I find this offensive. I’ve owned two PI’s and they both sucked hard. The experience was time consuming, flaky and terrible.
