I’d love to see how the iGPU alone compares when allocated 12GB. My gaming needs are modest, right now. But this setup allows for easy upgrade when I I want it and can afford to do it.
this one is actually pretty cool build! I'd like to see Bazzite on it and how it works with Intel GPUs. The case could be even smaller - to be closer to a console
Just put together a very similar build to this inside the Fractal Ridge case as my HTPC/Coop console running BazziteOS. B-series Linux drivers are still early, but so far running great!
For me it would be nice to see PS3 emulation running on the system. Also a grand total price, I know we can work it out but.... Love these systems, I will watch these builds all day long. Thanks for your content, as ever.
Ye and if we get the intel B3 series they could also be made into hopefully a one slot card, or a very low length one slot card for super low profile builds.
it would be bottlenecked and probably less efficient than a lower tier card, likely would only be useful over a normal variant for low power rendering/decoding.
The ASRock Intel Arc B580 Challenger Overclocked is a smaller card. 249mm long, 132mm tall, and 41mm thick (will likely barely squeeze into a 2-slot case position). My hope is that we get an LP version of B580 cards sometime soon.
I rather have a short but tall card with a big 140mm in there, like the Power can be at the end of the card to prevent case compatibility, also 3 slots so it packs a full case fan. Like most of the size of the length of the cards is for the Flow through cooler... like why not just make the card thiccer and taller but shorter.
@@Ruiso7 Plenty of room in the market for different designs, but when we're talking about trying to build SFF/ITX cases then it makes a lot more sense to have cards that are 2 slots of thinner versus 3 slot cards, just because the number of SFF/ITX cases that support 3 slot cards is very low and non-existent under 10L.
crazy timing on this. ive been watching your videos trying to decide if a mini PC is what i want, or something more substantial. this seems like the way to make a mini gaming PC with a dedicated GPU. are there other motherboards like this?
@PREDATEURLT Possibly, yeah. I'd like to know how the b580 responds to undervolting. The 4060 low profile is (I think) 115w and isn't too bad for noise, maybe with a beefy heatsink and triple fan setup like the 4060, a b580 would be ok.

Nvidia should really add frame gen to 30xx cards, so we don’t have to rely on FSR framegen + DLSS (using mods) or the lossless scaling app with frame gen
I wish they would make a B580 that is under 210mm I got a SFF case I would love to put one into, but the max length is 210mm (though I'd feel safer using a 205mm card TBH. Most of that GPU's length is just for the cooler (the PCB is around 180~190mm).

When it comes to LLMs, you can basically think about GPUs as giant RAM sticks. The speed and bandwidth and, of course, amount of VRAM is going to be the #1 factor in performance. You just want that LLM IN the GPU and NOT running from the CPU. I run 70b 4bit models (very commonly available) w/ dual 3090s easily. They take up about 44 of the 48gb available to me. So with 1/4 that amount of VRAM, the B580 would probably do just fine with any of the 3b models that are available, but could go up to the 11b models which are starting to show up more. Basically, it's just math. You could run up to 16b to 17b models when quantized at 4 bits. (And you really don't want to go less than 4 bits, and for home use, no more than 4.) Since it runs a little faster than the 3060 12gb, it would probably give you a couple of tokens per second more than the 3060. But you probably wouldn't notice it.
