Nice Boat 🛥 Just bought the Sea Star Jack Plate JP5100X 10" set back for a 22 foot Boston Whaler, should arrive tomorrow. hope it works as good as yours Just Installed the same engine 250ProXS and found my old jack plate leaking oil. 😩
@@SeaShift got out on the water today, after a long night putting it back together. this Mercury four stroke is awesome. can't wait to do some fishing 🐟
Hello I know this is a little old but I need to ask a question, when you purchased the 4 inch set back is there enough clearance for the steering cylinder when tilting the engine ( does not hit the transom?) to put on the trailer? or does the jack plate have to be up some...Thanks Rick
Difficult to answer because there are many factors that determine the best set up; boat weight, load, HP, type of hull, etc. I know in my particular set up, cable steering would be challenging. Could be done, but better with the hydraulic. Thanks for watching!
Do you have any recommendations on how to unstick one? I like mine because I can go in shallow water in the harbor but it has now frozen in the UP position and is non responsive. I have the Seastar Extream JP5040X 4" Jack Plate
On many other applications, it probably is. I tried the standard Mercury Enertia and it was not as good as the Eco. I was fortunate to get to try several props. The Eco and Rev 4 were top performers. All the others didn’t really come close. The Eco and Rev 4 had the best bite and torque.
very good machine👍👍👍
Huge difference super happy!!

It really allowed this motor to operate at its max potential and the way the boat handles is way better! Good luck with your jackplate!

Hello. Yes, the jack plate needs to be up about 1 inch when tilting the motor.
Do you think a jackplate will work with cable steering

Wish we could help you, but we haven’t experienced that yet. Hopefully it’s something minor.
The Mercury Enertia is faster than the Mercury enertia ECO.
