    if you can remove a floor register , you will be able to see if it is solid wood or suction bonded.

    Did you have an issue with door shutting?

  • @burly636

    Is there any such thing as a single RV that will rise about a foot and a half? I have a vintage 89 Toyota dolphin and the steps are too high and there’s only two of them. I just need something that rises halfway to the step and I can step on it and get in. I can go through the cab but it’s hard. I wear a leg brace and I used to wear 2, many years ago. it’s so frustrating to think I can’t into the door very easy at all. Getting out is easy I can just sit on the second step when I get down the first step and I’m out. I can drive fine.

    Looks great.
    We have the same original steps on our travel trailer and was thinking about putting a set of these on for entry and exit stability.
    I would love to hear your opinion of the steps after you get a chance to use them a few camping trips.

      So far so good Richard! We've been on one camping trip already and love the stability of the Solid Step platform. You would likely need the 3 step model for your rig. Thanks for watching!

      I like them myself. Being short it made it easier to open the door! And stable with no bouncing!

      The bouncing and unstable footing is what we want to get away from. We like the Lippert steps because of the wider step at the top. Big fan of Sunset Seekers. Camp safe, camp often. Thank you.

    Just wanted to know if you had any clearance problems with the bottom of your door when the steps are down. I’ve seen some comments about door clearance issues on other videos. Thanks… I enjoyed this installation video

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  2 роки тому +2

      I did have clearance issues but I discovered that I didn't have the steps flush against the door seal plate, so I had to make some adjustments in order to get the door to close properly when the steps were down. I think I got this out of square when I was adjusting the lift kit assembly. You definitely want to make sure that the steps fit flush on and against the seal plate and there are no gaps!

    You by far have the best video on this. Not quite sure why I have to cut out my trim for the lift assist? I took out a moryde a step above and they had their lift assist screwed right into the trim.

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  Рік тому

      Thank you for the kind words and for watching! I guess it comes down to personal preference in relation to cutting the piece of trim...

      @@SunsetSeekers ok education time….why did you have to move your steps closer to the lift assist? What was it doing or not doing? Mine won’t let the steps go down because it’s like the shock is stuck in the open position when I try to lower the steps. The shock looks fairly straight…I could maybe move the steps over a 1/4 inch.

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  Рік тому

      @@svhub I moved my steps a little closer to the lift assist in order to get the shock in a more straight vertical position. Bear in mind that the step will require a good amount of downward pressure in order to get the step down --it takes pressure to counter the shock (it's designed that way). As long as you have that shock in a vertical position, you should be good.

    • @svhub
      @svhub Рік тому

      @@SunsetSeekers I’ll see if I can line it up better tomorrow but if it takes a lot of downward pressure having owned both Moryde has the better system because I was able to lift and take down with ease. Hoping this one will prove me wrong once I have it adjusted correctly.
