    🚨HEADS UP!🚨 The Lippert Solid Step shown in this video is a next generation prototype and will be available for purchase in early 2024, so if you purchase before then you WILL receive the PRIOR generation version of the step, which I’ve covered extensively in this video: ua-cam.com/video/lhY3v1S6lAI/v-deo.html

    My only contribution to these steps is be wary of the strut assist. Mine broke after three years. The strut ends snapped during travel and could not be repaired. They would have to be replaced. This caused extra effort to raise the steps, and with no strut to hold the steps up, I had to bungee cord them to the bunks causing undo stress on the bunk ladder. Go with the non assist. They are light and easier to use.

    I was looking to buy the Lippert solid steps and getting the lift assist kit with it, however I was dissappointed to find out the lift assist is no longer being offered and I could not verify if i would be receiving the newer revised model or the predecessor version. From what i can tell the stickers changed from yellow to red writing - but even though some websites show pictures of both - I cannot be sure its the updated verion. I cant believe they would not sell the lift assist anylonger, i wonder if they are waiting till the new model comes out?

      @@reygabrielgarcia3473 that is definitely a possibility and seems to make the most sense. I haven’t had any direct contact with Lippert in quite some time though so unfortunately I don’t have any additional info for you on this.

    Hi Chris. Watched both of your videos on the steps and you are a wealth of information. Do the steps lock into the door frame? If so does it cause any damage while traveling? Great video. These step look like a game changer for Grandma and Grandpa. Thank you.

      Hey there. I’m glad you found the videos helpful! Yes, the steps do latch into the door frame. It’s doesn’t necessarily cause “damage” but I would say there is some slight scuffing inside the doorframe. Nothing noticeable or bad looking though. And you’re very welcome. Thanks for watching :)

    Great videos! Your first one made me follow you and watch this one!
    I’m looking for help. My inner door frame is not quite 24 inches. My dual step stairs are 24 inches wide.
    Will the Lippert model 733931 work?
    Folding into that door frame looks to be an issue unless the Lippert steps are less than 24 inches wide.
    I haven’t gotten any answers yet.

    • @AroundTheSunWeGo
      @AroundTheSunWeGo  5 місяців тому

      Thanks so much! From what I gather, you will need a doorway that is at least 25" wide for the 733931. There is a 713662 that is made for 24” doors, but if yours is less than 24” I’m not sure that would even work. What camper do you have?

    we had the latest moryde steps, and now have ordered a new RV with the lippert steps, ...if the new ones come with that quick release for the legs we will be happy, if not, we will probably go back to moryde. That is the deal breaker for us, the legs with pins are just not the happiest.

    Anything lippert Is a no for me, being a full timer they just are not up to par for me. Their products are great and are up to full timing however I've had at least 15 orders from lippert sent with half my order or missing parts then the missing parts are later shipped to a campground I'm no longer at, all while their phone support says "they'll go out tomorrow we apologize" when in reality they are backordered another 2 weeks or something. As mentioned I have not had 1 single order received on time or whole from lippert out of 15 so far. If there is an alternative to lippert I'm using that.

    I like the Lippert step because of the larger surface areas, especially the top platform. I see the Lippert and the Morryde reviewed had quick release latches on the support legs. However Lippert is saying they don't offer that anymore and have gone back to the removable pins. At least their customer service agent on the phone told me that. How can I get a triple step with the quick release option?

    So here we are halfway through 2024 and still no upgraded model of the Lippert steps??
    I can live without the quick release lever for the adjustable legs (although it seems like a good idea). But I do need to have the quick release hinges since I don't always have 4 ft. of space available to swing the 4 step version up and down again. My RV storage lot packs us in pretty close together... I will need to be able to remove these easily just to be able to get into the RV. I will just use a portable step when I need to do that I guess. Definitely one downside to this type of step.
    Gonna call Lippert Monday to see what's going on with the upgrades that you showed on your video...

      @flash8051 I still don't see them on their website. I emailed them back in March asking what the status was. The rep that emailed me back said all they are being told is sometime this year. She also mentioned too check back mid year. I just sent a follow-up email so we'll see what transpires. I would love to get my hands on a set and have been holding out since this video, lol. I may have no choice but to go with morryde. Can't hold out forever and I definitely don't want the pinned version

    I just bought a new Solitude with Morryde strut assist stairs. I absolutely hate these stairs for permanent RV ing. We are at a camp for long periods of time. Used to just be able to take stairs out quickly and roll up outside solid steps. Do I have to disassemble the entire Morryde unit to take out the stairs? What a stupid system.

    • @AroundTheSunWeGo
      @AroundTheSunWeGo  Рік тому

      When or why do you usually need to remove the stairs at a long-term spot? And yes, the strut-based version would require the entire unit be unscrewed from the floor and wall for removal. Only the version without the assist has the quick release feature.

    • @kruijsm

      @@AroundTheSunWeGo the Morryde stairs are to small/steep for my dogs. Although I think it’s a great system for weekend getaways. Being full time I remove the stairs and have a built platform staircase pulled up to the rig. I didn’t realize that I had to remove the whole unit, screws etc. removing all the screws will only weaken the system over time, stripping them etc. if I had know, I would have had them remove the strut assist stairs and install a regular set. The weight is not that big off a deal. As it is now, we or the dogs always end up hitting that strut assist guard. I really don’t think these new stairs were thought out very well.
