Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers may have pushed too far, or at least pushed Bland Richter too far. In their analogy-laden response, they ask for sanctions against Murdaugh’s attorneys for having the audacity to file the motion to withdraw Murdaugh's confession of judgment. What do you think of this latest motion? I can’t wait to see what the Judge does with this.

I'm convinced the lawyer writing this response was meant to be on the golf course, allegedly, instead of writing legal responses to nonsense.
Truth. He sounds mad about it.
😅😅😅 truth! Dude had to have been pissed!!
So,the insurance guy says he was intimidated, bullied, and still ,aproves the claim? Ok...
No one wanted to get into it with that man…too much power, too much money…
That or he has an unfulfilled dream of writing for the sports section of the newspaper
During the trial and all of the recordings I have listened to Alec never says he misses Maggie or Paul.
He doesn't miss Mags or Pawpaw either
@@loric3658 😅 true dat
Not an ounce of compassion in him 💔
@@wendyrees7942 I don't understand how she didn't see that side of him!!
@@psb12121 yes I agree - maybe he had multiple personalities depending on who he was with ? Maybe she just lived her own enlife and did not spend much time with him , just photos all for show . But can you imagine how terrified they must have been when he pointed the guns at them , I mean who did he murder first and the other knowing their fate . Just so awful 💔💔
He is calling Mags and Paw paw liars as well
I wonder if all those other alleged debts, to his brother, to friends, to partners . . . are nothing more than an attempt to squirrel away money for himself. Or for Buster. Because really, his other friends have not exactly shown themselves to be scrupulously honest, or even honest at all.
Oh yeah, you are totally right.
His brothers INSTANTLY began "repaying" themselves money, it happened years ago. They are all so crooked.
That's exactly what he's doing cause he already has that request to increase the amount of money from his 401K that was SUPPOSED to go to the victims he claims to care about now, but got split mostly in his favor to use for legal fees and since he blew through that they were asking for more money for the rest of his legal fees and then for the appeal
the whole lot of them are up to their ears in all this.
John Marvin took his boat to Bermuda shortly after the murders. I reckon his boat was full of evidence and money!
@@Truth1561 Oh, those Bermuda and Bahamas trips are INFAMOUS. And Mark Tinsley absolutely knows about them now.
That whole family is ghastly. And though I'm not saying it is good that two of the were murdered, where did they think so much illegal activity was going to lead them? They are now all behaving exactly like Alex did. Doing anything for money. Helping Alex to "profit" from his murders....because that's what the asset hiding is all about. In effect it means that they are fully on board with the murders. They have assisted in every way they have been able, and have been making money out of the crimes.
We have seen so many motions for sanction and never seen it actually happen. The lawyers on UA-cam like to talk like contempt and sanctions are what keep lawyers in strict line…but it feels, watching these cases, that a lot of bad behaviour is actually accepted in courts around the country.
I really do hope that there will be some repercussion for this because I am curious to see if the SC Bar, which has taken no fault or significant steps for the Murdaugh situation will deal with the lawyers. It will be telling to see if there even is oversight in South Carolina. 😊
Alex Murdaugh is literally NEVER going away, despite “being away” (RHONJ Teresaism)
No he’s not! It’s insane.
LOL 😊
It’s the only avenue of amusement that he has left - to see how much money he can get out of paying & how much suffering he can inflict.
There is now a cottage industry surrounding all things Alex Murdaugh. The people most beneficial are all the lawyers and their podcasts! Completely disgusting, yet here I am listening to one!
@bettycattk5298 hitting it a little early today, betty???
My thought is the golf analogies is a polite expression of anger at having to deal with this issue.
I'm most suspicious about Alex's claim that Gloria wasn't at his house to do work. That avoided a worker's compensation claim, and allowed him to defraud his own insurance.
I don't think he ever racanted that part of his initial story.
Yes, very unlikely a worker came by only to pick up a check, because usually a check is picked up on a work day; unless, this was truly a murder; and, she was asked to come and something shady happened and her death was actually murder ( like she was shoved or pushed, or bumped into and knocked over). Also very possible that indeed the fall was called by his dogs. I mean AM wants to bring the Satterfield's back in again....how low is that? I can't see any judge doing this with AM track records of deception. He would say anything to get even at lawyers that brought cases against him IMPO.
She was set up!! Her timeline was about to get Paul in trouble!!!
I bet the IRS can find the money offshore.
You could tell when Gloria's son was testifying that Alex was so disgusted and angry that he was like f you. You will pay for this and then he recants his confession. Next they will file a motion for Buster to be a victim to get some money. Guaranteed something is coming
I have no doubt that the golf references are a huge dig, and possibly an inside joke at "The Good Ole Boys"
Only in South Carolina would you get a whole golf analogy prelude. Hilton Head privilege through and through.
The golf analogies are like diamond earrings with a Swarovski crystal dress…they add nothing, let the outfit speak for itself 🤣💎😂
I think the golf analogies are very creative. I think if you are someone who has to read these every day, it's a way to grab and keep ones attention. It's got mine. Personally, it helps me understand, and it's not boring. 😁
Creative writing and legal brief are seldom seen together, but I'm here for it. 😉👍💜💜💜
Geez…..What a tangled web he weaves! In fact he appears to have reinforced that web with a whole load of bull sh*t on top.
Good! Jim Griffin and Poot are horrible!
Law and Lumber said that Murdaugh wants to use the money in his 401K to fund his appeal but the Satterfields have a claim against it so he is trying to get rid of their claim.
correct!!
And the Satterfields are in line behind other victims. Alex could make a claim at the back of the queue too
On the Replay Crew Emily, missed some of the live. What a man, there's no end to the shenanigans he gets up to. 💚☘️🇮🇪
I always thought the saying was “not one red penny” or “not one red cent.”
I do not believe that Alec was as bad an addict as he says he is. I think it’s another lie and another excuse for his behavior. When he first got incarcerated for the murders he had his head shaved. The reasoning was it was done to all inmates. That isn’t true at that particular jurisdiction. Inmates have their heads shaved after they are judged guilty in their cases, and just before they are transported to their prison they are assigned to sit out their sentences. It’s important for Alec that he was shaved right away because a hair test would have proven he did not have a long time excessive use of drugs. He says he had a bad one but nobody could take what he said he did and still live. The entire thing is another excuse that no one can prove one way or another.
they could do a fingernail or toe nail test...they can go back a year.
Regardless I do feel he is lying about the extent of his drug use.
How can someone survive $millions spent in your year on drugs and still be as chunkie as he was… the math is not mathing
@@OneidaGC agree. If he was buying that much it was getting sold elsewhere, not all his
According to another UA-cam vlogger (JumpsuitPablo) who spent 10 years in South Carolina prisons, all individuals have their heads shaved as soon as they are incarcerated. According to him, it was an effort to prevent lice. I agree with you that Alex's drug use was fabricated--certainly NOT $50,000/week. I think he was dealing, and his funds are in an off-shore account. Alex made a trip to the Bahamas after the murders, as did his brother John Henry.
@@patevans3709 I watched a video of an employee in charge of prisoners in jail, forgot name, said they do shave their heads, not when jailed awaiting trial, but afterwards when they are convicted, before they are transported to the prison they are assigned to, they will shave heads to prevent lice. They don’t shave them them at jail. I can research and get the name of the employee in corrections. He also has a UA-cam channel.
AM is just an all around horrible human
At this point, I have to consider that he is NOT HUMAN.
Sanctions for Poot!!! Sanctions for Poot!!
I don’t really understand what difference it makes whether he lied or not; either he told the truth and he stole the money from the Satterfields, or he lied and he defrauded the insurance company. Either way, the money doesn’t belong to him.
I think it's because if the fall was caused by the dogs, it would be covered by his homeowner's insurance. If it was caused by her poor health, it would not be covered. I'm not sure I understand what the end goal is here, either. Horribly cruel to deny the sons the payout, if there is any money left.
Leave more money to Buster so Buster doesn't tell all.
WELL. They came out swinging! Too many golf puns lol
I still believe the dogs were nowhere near the house. I think Paul and Gloria had a heated conversation about the pill stash she found. He pushed her, and maybe accidentally, it will eventually come out. You can not hear the dogs on the 911 call, Maggie said nothing about dogs on the 911 call, and per Blanca Maggie had an allergy (dogs are not in house when she was around).
But those dogs (Maggie’s pets) were often on the porch! Not always in kennels.
Maggie argued.. Maggie pushed... not paul
This is wildly speculative bordering on fanfic.
I have heard before the possibility that Gloria had found a stash of pills and she and Paul may have had an altercation, though It's speculation as far as I know. It is strange there are no dogs barking on the 911 call.
It all makes perfect sense, if you’re a golfer. Let’s hold court at Myrtle Beach SC, several golf courses there to enhance your legal acumen.
Good to know!!!
Can we all agree that balderdash is a fun word?
If the dogs tripped Gloria, why wasn’t there paw prints on the porch considering head wounds notoriously bleed copiously and it was stated that Gloria was bleeding uncontrollably?
I’m from Hampton and there’s also another shady situation surrounding the Satterfield case that doesn’t seem to be well known outside of SC.
Not only did Alex say that his insurance shouldn’t have paid out because he lied about her fall but he ALSO got that second $4 million pay out by using a clause in his homeowners insurance blanket policy. Since the property was considered a hunting property and it had an airfield, the policy states that anyone who is a GUEST can be covered under the blanket but employees can not.
Alex claimed Gloria was NOT on the property that day as an employee because she had a car accident a few days prior and was on a few days medical leave. Since he was able to provide medical records to show that she wasn’t there that day to work but was simply “visiting”.
The airfield on the hunting grounds Carrie’s a larger pay out sum because it’s intended to cover all guests including any “arriving on the property by airplane”.🙄
I’m just gonna say this…Alex having that particular policy was awfully convenient for an “accidental” death by a GUEST…I’d say.
Also, why would Gloria come to “visit” the day following a car accident where she received bruises, concussion, broken rib etc and when her ONLY car she owned was totaled. No one else, according to Paul, Maggie and the groundskeeper, was with Gloria when she arrived.
The 2nd 4 mil policy was immediately given to Judge Carmen to sign off of a legal case to release the check due to judgement that Alex had not filed.
Once Cory washed that check Alex gave him $125,000, and then gave HIS DAD a check for $300,000, the sheriff of the neighboring county $10,000 (both of which Alex claimed were repayment of “loan”) and $100,000 to Maggie’s account through Palmetto Bank.
This is all available through the court records and Jim Griffin was fully aware of those long before the homicide trial.
The first insurance payout of $500,000 was paid through the typical homeowners and Gloria’s kids were aware that it had been filed. The court records reflect that. The second Nautilus $4 mill was covered under the hunting grounds/airfield stipulations for Guests only. The settlement was NOT filed but the judge (who was removed due to conduct) signed off on it even though she knew it was a conflict of interest and had not been properly file, thus allowing Alex to hide that payout.
So...was a car accident the first attempt, then a gentle shove down the stairs the second? Is this guy a serial offender?
@@campbell1446 the car accident was completely accidental. I don’t really know if he is a serial offender or not, to be honest. Or just saw another opportunity and took it.
I think he used the car accident as an excuse to say Gloria was not there as an employee at the time, saying she was “visiting”. But, I think she may have been called there for some reason, to pick up a check perhaps, that would have otherwise disqualified her from being covered under the hunting grounds clause. But, who knows, to be honest, with Russell LaFitte and Cory Fleming being co-defendants and good friends for the better of 30 years.
I get the golf analogies only because Judge Newman isn't a golfer, and when Dick and Jim bring said "golf analogies" in, (AND THEY WILL BRING THEM IN) Judge Newman will consider them as nonsense.
I liked the golf analogy 😂
For EBD’s golf discussions on her livestream, me too! 💜😂
But not for the seriousness of the legal matters and sadness of these cases…not too funny.
Which one(s)?
I’m enjoying the golf sass.💜
I don’t understand how withdrawing the judgement of confession benefits Alex.
I love the language in the text, the golf analogy etc, this way I understand. Beside that they are right: Alex is spiteful, childish and selfish 😮
He really is a child!! Spoiled child.
AM is all those things but he has nothing else to do. I mean he could just STFU and help out other inmates who need help with legalese. And he may be doing that too, for selfish reasons, of course, (like getting some kind of protection), because it’s all about him!
Wonder if Alec did something to the steps thinking Maggie would be the one to fall???
Hadn't thought of that!!
A "red dime" is a penny. "Not one red dime" is a bastardized version of "not a red cent," which makes more sense, if you accept that pennies are red. As an idiom it is synonymous with "not a penny," so it emphasizes that he gave them nothing.
Bland and Richter are writing to their audience…. Golf is huge in SC. Every judge will get it.
"...not one *thin dime"?
"...not one red *cent"?
Big mess. Alex is playing the system. It's surprising that his lawyers went along with it.
The response is as polite as possible to this big mess.
Alex reminds me of the fictional character, Judge Cecil Lafayette from "Queen of the South."
It's nice to know lawyers have a literary sense of metaphors and analogies within all the legal jargon. Bring on those sanctions!
😂 EDB: This is why I love your commentary! I’m so grateful to have your help sorting through these sassy memorandums.
PS: green is your color!
I don't understand how Alex could have inherited multi millions from his father in a trust whom for 30 years was a public servant as solicitor where did that money come from something seems terribly wrong 😢
The family was still allowed to own/practice at the family law firm while still being the solicitor.
Maybe he donated a bunch to fucky "political" candidates. But it's more likely that he gambled it all away.
Dad was crooked too. Also his(Alex) grandfather was a bootlegger back in the day
off shore accounts, a gambling ring? other illegal matters?
I started to read this when it came out, and I couldn't get through it because of all the commentary and analogies. I have been waiting to hear your thoughts and happy to hear you agree it is a bit much!!
Do you really think AM doesn’t have any money? Where did all that money go? I can imagine off-shore banking…Something is rotten here as well!
I think that he has money that isn’t easily found….
Somebody get @TragosLaw Peter Tragos… LYK on these golf’s analogies!!
I think Alec’s attorneys are avid golfers and this presentation will really speak to them.
Poot golfing!! ⛳️ what a sight that would be! 😂🤣
There is no way Poot golfs! Isn’t he like 90 years old?! He sure seemed old to me watching the trial.
This “presentation” was a legal document for the court/judge not any attorneys.
@@Shines-On 😂 I have golfed with a 90-year old! In fact, I almost tripped over a protective rope around the green that he saw and I didn’t! Great to see him laugh! Good times, good times, indeed! ⛳️ 😂
I would not like to golf with Poot, though, that’s for sure…especially if he was playing on the taxpayer’s dime! None of him working for AM WHILE working for SC seems fair and just!
Yes, the mulligan would have been ok, but after that it's just annoying over-kill.
It’s interesting how much dogs have factored into the Murdog saga.
It is my fervent belief, Alex has stashed his ill-gotten gains off-shore. In trying to make his victims whole, I hope the court and law enforcement follow the path: his spending, money transfers and every transaction until every red cent is accounted for. 😉👍💜💜💜
That's just what I believe and said.
Won’t happen. He was taking cash out of the bank. That’s not traceable if it went to his alleged dealer or his alleged off shore account.
Have you all seen the info coming out about Colleen Ballinger? I’d love to see EDB cover the dangers of children having unbridled access to the internet. And legally how parents can keep their kids safe, and what they can legally do when they find out about their kids online relationships with adults. It’s tricky.
She most likely won’t give it much mention if there’s not any sort of legal aspect to it, i.e. a civil suit against Colleen Ballinger
What did Colleen do?
@@aurea.there’s a lot of grooming of minors by both her and her brother. Coercing then to wear explicit clothing while she was touring only to expose them and a lot of SA/SH of minors. Its all really really gross and a rabbit hole to go down.
@@aurea. She asked minor fans about their sexual activity, to send her sexual pictures, included inappropriate acts with children in her touring show, among other really gross things. Several victims have come forward. There are Reddit threads which compile the allegations into a single timeline. The activity started back in 2016 and has continued to the present. It’s really bad & backed up with video and text evidence. I would argue worse than Shane Dawson. 😢
Blessings and hello 👋 to everyone. Blessings and thank you to Emily and all the mods and the team. 🤟💜
Is this style of writing typical for SC law? I work in engineering and regularly receive technical reports, if anything like this came across my desk I’d be pissed. My eyes had already rolled into the back of my head by the third or fourth golf analogy, but the “Mr. Microphone Award” footnote thoroughly irritated my soul. Holy, this was cringe and at times very unprofessional.
Attorney writing this seems angry and maybe immature? The golf analogies are just over the top!
I would fire my lawyer if they wrote a petition like this. Seems unprofessional and is if they are playing to social media/clicks on the internet.
Is Alex writing some himself?
I bet Murdaugh wrote the petition and had his attorneys enter it under their own names--especially since they are not being compensated. He wrote it in a manner that is intentionally insulting to the victims of his financial crimes, court, prosecutors, judge, and the defense attorneys of his victims.
I'm excited to finally see
sanctions! I've always been super curious about the process of how things happen.
I’m here for sass in the footnotes. 😈
The Ol' Boyz Club does business on the golf course. It's how they keep the rest of us out. I think the golf analogies are aluding to the death of the Ol' Boyz Golf Club.
Over the top!!!
"How do I sanction thee? Let me count the metaphors."
Replay Crew 💜: So, basically, Alex is admitting perjury in the murder trial. Umkay. He never stops lying. Ever.
Oh thank the gods...something other than the Idaho case!!
Thank you sharing and informing.
your not being to hard on them...we need Peter Tragos to do a companion golf nerd video to yours...
That's a golfer for you.
Lyk will love the analogy!
The Richins case also has a gag order issue
Exactly right on
I bet they thought they were clever with all the analogies and golf
Maybe should have written it better, but I do LOVE the golf references. 😂
Hello, all! ☕️from Michigan
I missed the live due to being asleep... to be honest, unless I am not working the next day, I probably will be asleep during the recording of podcasts! Lol The joys of being in the UK!
What?!?!?
Also the Judge settled this case in a private room without the insurance attorney present ( they were in route) and agreed to Corey Flemming ( Satterfield Attorney) request to not to file the case to protect Murdaugh in the boating case ( he didn’t want it known his home owner’s policy paid out 4 million plus dollars. And the Judge Carmen Mullen agreed.
Murdaugh is a gambler, not a golfer. His surviving son is also a huge gambler. Alex was bragging that he liked general population because he was "winning big".
Alex wants it both ways. Dick and Jim are still ol'boys clubbing. We will see if the court is amused. 😏👍💜💜💜
I’m a little disturbed that Dick is still getting paid for his government job with taxpayer’s money, but still serving so much time to AM. Doesn’t seem right, but DOES seem accurate for most of our USA government officials!
Hi everyone from Queensland Australia
The problem with Alex's claim is that he has lied constantly. So, for anything he states, what can be believed? What a mess for the justice system.
Basically we know AM lies when it's to his own benefit.
If this is the same attorney I'm thinking of, he's an avid golfer. I like the analogy!
This is the never ending story.
My Father, who owned a steel business here in the South, wanted me to learn how to play golf. I was a big Tomboy and played several sports.
He said a majority of his business deals were made on the golf course, Club bar, or Game Room. Unfortunately, I hated golf and did learn that many businesses deals were closed between golfers at the private country clubs.
Later, he warned me again at the beginning of my Engineering career that I would lose projects to golfer deals made on the course! How right he was!
Funny after living with my husband in Mexico, Central, and South America, I found the 'Olde Boys' network more distasteful than the Open Machismo in Latin America.
This could be an secret agreement with the insurance company and the defense, they don’t want to pay 4,3 millions twice. Never believe defense attorneys because they are not obligated to tell the truth, in fact in court every one swear to tell the truth except the attorneys. It’s a point to keep in mind.
😊Mrs Satterfield The grounds keeper was there. So it makes me feel he was there to put the dogs up.This is the guy to ask for the truth.
Where is all this money going to come. Isn’t AM broke?
so he says
He went to the Bahamas after the murders. Mayhaps he stashed his remaining monies there....
This is great stuff regarding golf analogy. 😂
That intro is magic...thank you...! And more murdaugh...sanctions? Update about Satterfields...This is going to be another great one...yay..you make my existence more fun...thank you...💜
i love hearing you read a motion ,,, i wanted to be a lawyer. so i enjoy all of your videos.
I am enjoying the sassiness!
I’m just aghast at this motion. It’s insulting on so many levels. Why would an attorney debase himself by making this argument??
It means that he and his lawyers are hitting below the belt IMPO and any respect people had for his defense is out the window.
Not too harsh! I feel it degrades the motion.
😔 so sad these cases
@LawandLumber, you need to cover this!
Maybe they are just trying to rub in the fact that Alex will never ever be able to play golf again in his miserable lifetime.
On replay. Thanks Emily
💜EBD, I LOVE your new haircut cut! It is so light weight for the Summer! 😍👍🏻I’ve been looking to do the same after sporting the heavy head bun or ponytails w/ hats for too long now. Summer is here to stay and it’s hot!!!🥵 💇♀️👩🏻🦲😂
As for today’s content: Mulligan? Fairways? ⛳️ All the golf references seem extremely inappropriate in a legal document, especially so many of them!
I am screaming 😱📢 “FOUR!!!” to this nonsense!
I doubt if Judge Newman golfs🤣🤣🤣
This seems like it was written by Mandy matney or her friend… cup of justice is a channel on UA-cam with the three (Eric bland being 3rd person).
The whole thing is a golf analogy 😂😂😂😂
The satterfields didn’t receive a penny of the insurance money yet he wants them to repay the insurance company? This guy used to be an attorney? Seriously?
Hey EDB & Law Nerds😇
Alex's attorneys deserve to be sanctioned. How greedy can you be?
