Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers may have pushed too far, or at least pushed Bland Richter too far. In their analogy-laden response, they ask for sanctions against Murdaugh’s attorneys for having the audacity to file the motion to withdraw Murdaugh's confession of judgment. What do you think of this latest motion? I can’t wait to see what the Judge does with this.

We have seen so many motions for sanction and never seen it actually happen. The lawyers on UA-cam like to talk like contempt and sanctions are what keep lawyers in strict line…but it feels, watching these cases, that a lot of bad behaviour is actually accepted in courts around the country.
I really do hope that there will be some repercussion for this because I am curious to see if the SC Bar, which has taken no fault or significant steps for the Murdaugh situation will deal with the lawyers. It will be telling to see if there even is oversight in South Carolina. 😊

Yes, very unlikely a worker came by only to pick up a check, because usually a check is picked up on a work day; unless, this was truly a murder; and, she was asked to come and something shady happened and her death was actually murder ( like she was shoved or pushed, or bumped into and knocked over). Also very possible that indeed the fall was called by his dogs. I mean AM wants to bring the Satterfield's back in again....how low is that? I can't see any judge doing this with AM track records of deception. He would say anything to get even at lawyers that brought cases against him IMPO.

I do not believe that Alec was as bad an addict as he says he is. I think it’s another lie and another excuse for his behavior. When he first got incarcerated for the murders he had his head shaved. The reasoning was it was done to all inmates. That isn’t true at that particular jurisdiction. Inmates have their heads shaved after they are judged guilty in their cases, and just before they are transported to their prison they are assigned to sit out their sentences. It’s important for Alec that he was shaved right away because a hair test would have proven he did not have a long time excessive use of drugs. He says he had a bad one but nobody could take what he said he did and still live. The entire thing is another excuse that no one can prove one way or another.

According to him, it was an effort to prevent lice. I agree with you that Alex's drug use was fabricated--certainly NOT $50,000/week. I think he was dealing, and his funds are in an off-shore account. Alex made a trip to the Bahamas after the murders, as did his brother John Henry.

If the dogs tripped Gloria, why wasn’t there paw prints on the porch considering head wounds notoriously bleed copiously and it was stated that Gloria was bleeding uncontrollably?
I’m from Hampton and there’s also another shady situation surrounding the Satterfield case that doesn’t seem to be well known outside of SC.
Not only did Alex say that his insurance shouldn’t have paid out because he lied about her fall but he ALSO got that second $4 million pay out by using a clause in his homeowners insurance blanket policy. Since the property was considered a hunting property and it had an airfield, the policy states that anyone who is a GUEST can be covered under the blanket but employees can not.
Alex claimed Gloria was NOT on the property that day as an employee because she had a car accident a few days prior and was on a few days medical leave. Since he was able to provide medical records to show that she wasn’t there that day to work but was simply “visiting”.
The airfield on the hunting grounds Carrie’s a larger pay out sum because it’s intended to cover all guests including any “arriving on the property by airplane”.🙄
I’m just gonna say this…Alex having that particular policy was awfully convenient for an “accidental” death by a GUEST…I’d say.
Also, why would Gloria come to “visit” the day following a car accident where she received bruises, concussion, broken rib etc and when her ONLY car she owned was totaled. No one else, according to Paul, Maggie and the groundskeeper, was with Gloria when she arrived.
The 2nd 4 mil policy was immediately given to Judge Carmen to sign off of a legal case to release the check due to judgement that Alex had not filed.
Once Cory washed that check Alex gave him $125,000, and then gave HIS DAD a check for $300,000, the sheriff of the neighboring county $10,000 (both of which Alex claimed were repayment of “loan”) and $100,000 to Maggie’s account through Palmetto Bank.
This is all available through the court records and Jim Griffin was fully aware of those long before the homicide trial.
The first insurance payout of $500,000 was paid through the typical homeowners and Gloria’s kids were aware that it had been filed. The court records reflect that. The second Nautilus $4 mill was covered under the hunting grounds/airfield stipulations for Guests only. The settlement was NOT filed but the judge (who was removed due to conduct) signed off on it even though she knew it was a conflict of interest and had not been properly file, thus allowing Alex to hide that payout.

@@campbell1446 the car accident was completely accidental. I don’t really know if he is a serial offender or not, to be honest. Or just saw another opportunity and took it.
I think he used the car accident as an excuse to say Gloria was not there as an employee at the time, saying she was “visiting”. But, I think she may have been called there for some reason, to pick up a check perhaps, that would have otherwise disqualified her from being covered under the hunting grounds clause. But, who knows, to be honest, with Russell LaFitte and Cory Fleming being co-defendants and good friends for the better of 30 years.

My Father, who owned a steel business here in the South, wanted me to learn how to play golf. I was a big Tomboy and played several sports.
He said a majority of his business deals were made on the golf course, Club bar, or Game Room. Unfortunately, I hated golf and did learn that many businesses deals were closed between golfers at the private country clubs.
Later, he warned me again at the beginning of my Engineering career that I would lose projects to golfer deals made on the course! How right he was!
Funny after living with my husband in Mexico, Central, and South America, I found the 'Olde Boys' network more distasteful than the Open Machismo in Latin America.
