Not one of their more well-known songs but definitely can be considered one of their hidden gems. Great song.
It does plod a bit though
@@Sopmylo The live version is a little faster, def better at higher tempo.
I love Led Zeppelin even after 50 or so years of listening to them it's still totally rockin"!!!!👌✌👍😎
"Since i've been loving you live madison square garden " gonna love it
Please react to Led Zeppelin “ Since I’ve been loving you” studio version 👍🏻
Then BBC
Maybe he was trippin' on shrooms when he saw a lion standing alone with a tadpole in a jar.
Yes!! That's exactly what happened!! I don't know why but the cowardly lion from the wizard of Oz comes to mind in that part of the son with a tadpole in his hat 🤣.
The perfect song for drunk dad dancing. Just the once mind.
One' of the greatest bands
hundreds of words and beats by the MIGHTY LED ZEPPELIN have been used in all types of songs , it is amazing
Awesome song choice. Thanks. Enjoy.
my fave of all time group..we were spoiled in the old days...lol..im surprised you haven't heard BABE IM GONNA LEAVE YOU.
Wow! I loved that! I forgot about that song. Oh my! I agree it has a nice, warm, humorous feel to it - all with a great rhythm. Thanks for bringing that into my life!
I believe the lyric that I've always heard is ... "I saw a lad he was standing alone, w/ a tadpole in a jar . ( Image of his young son )
Ten Years Gone (studio), or Rain Song (live).
The lion and tadpole lyric is two things. according to singer Robert Plant, he was walking around town and saw a jar with water and tadpoles in it that had been left between the paws of a stone lion statue outside the town hall. The second is it's a euphemism for sex since tadpoles resemble sperm.
Love this song a lot of memories
Gotta do the Lemon Song! And What is and What Should Never Be
Patiently waiting for In My Time Of Dyin'. Totally worth the 11 some odd minutes.
Please react to Since I've been loving you live at Madison Square Garden. It'll blow your mind
Sweetheart, try D'yer Ma'ker. You'll love it. A fun reggae tribute homage.
Check out some underrated songs no one ever reacts too like, Misty Mountain Hop, Nobodys Fault But Mine and Traveling Riverside Blues.
I remember this song was played often' on the 2 major rock stations in Philly I listened to in the late 70's to mid 80's. Good memories!
I had this album. So darn good. Forgot about this song until now.
You picked a vibe babe lol! Rock on...
You should have heard other songs in their catalog to get acquainted with the intricacies that is Led Zeppelin. This is a song that probably should be heard after experiencing a good bit of Zeppelin. It helps to understand the way Zeppelin changes mood and intensity. I think its good to hear the first two albums then the fourth one to get a basic feel of the band. Then hear the third album to get the acoustic with the heavy then Houses of the Holy to get the full feel. Then Physical to experience it all and discover the true genius that is Zeppelin. Next Presence for their magnum opus Achilles Last Stand. Then their final In Through the Out Door to get a fuller band album. Coda and the live stuff is for those who cant get enough which is most who have got this far, lol. Simply the greatest band of them all the top of the heap. That is Led Zeppelin.
Groovy! The time signature is 4/4 but the bass comes in early giving the groove an odd feel. The whiny sound that mirrors the guitar riff might come from a mellotron, a keyboard instrument that plays back tape samples when the keys are depressed. Wikipedia says the song was inspired by a tune the band heard while traveling in Mumbai, India. So the line about the lion and the tadpole may be a literal description of something they saw during their trip.
Song opens with a cymbal crash (on 1) and is 4/4 the whole way
A more basic format actually for them really compared to many of their songs
Guitars tuned to open G. The dissonance of the C# or the Tritone or blue note against the open G is what gives the riff it’s unique sound . Like most blues songs it goes to the IV chord (C) but then goes up a half step to C# or flat V, before walking back down to C then Bb back to G. A very interesting progression for sure
i love the (F major) arpeggio Page plays throughout the song to get into the 2nd part of the verse high part (I got my flower, I got my power I got a woman who knows) - then again the leading j to “ you’ll be my only ...” . Or is that the chorus ? Is there even a chorus ? I guess that is technically the chorus ....
In typical page writing he goes up the octave at the end and plays the same main riff of the song. .. a common technique of his (think the end of the black dog studio solo as one example of many)
Any way I’m babbling like a brook
@@Samscoinsandheavymetal LZ exploits the tritone in "Immigrant Song" too. The chorus starts with "I said it's alright..."
Trippy
When I was a kid, I switched from top 40 radio to the album rock station. Mom definitely did not approve of the music I was listening to. Anyway, originally, I knew "Stairway" but not much else from LZ, and I think this was one of the songs that grabbed me and convinced me of their greatness. This isn't one of their biggest songs that everyone knows and has a heard a million times, it's one of their "average" songs, and it's freaking amazing.
Check out the lemon song by them. The bass line is sick!!
Jack White knicked it for one of the songs he played last night on SNL. He also added some finger tapping to the solo in the second song he played in homage to EVH.
Great song !
Please check a live version of “The Ocean “ or “Going to California”
Love the song. Thanks for reacting!
Cool song huh!
I’m a Leo and when I was a kid I had Tadpoles in a jar
Please react to:
1. Since I've Been Loving You.
2. Trampled Underfoot.
3. The Girl I Love, She Has Long Black Wavy Hair
since I've been loving you- studio version
If you want to listen to some quite obscure tracks from the U.K. that probably never surfaced in the US but are nevertheless interesting/brilliant the first two by the same band:Lindisfarne the tracks are Lady Eleanor and Winter Song. They fit right in with the Hallowe’en vibe, recorded versions only and no special US mixes please. The next one is, Judy Tzuke titled Stay With Me Till Dawn and lastly tune by Kiki
Dee called Amereuse .These last two are atmospheric slow love songs. Again recorded versions best. They shouldn’t be blocked because they are fairly old and obscure. Tracks by David Grey called Babylon and Sail Away.
Jayy, react to "Since I've Been Loving You" Live so you can see they sounded even better live!
Ooh! Pretty Pumpkin Spice Hair!
U got it
You’ve really gotta try Dyer Maker...I think you’ll be surprised. It’s a little different...
I love that one too. Kind of a reggae beat.
Need to react to Fleetwood Mac. One of the greatest female singer
Lov that song
You nailed it !!!
I forgot to say I love your Halloween stuff really cool
Rhythm is the master of the back beat, seductive
What? You listened to the words? I have never in almost 50 years listened to the lyrics of this song 😂
You need to check out pearl jam - black. MTV unplugged live version. You will love it.
Would love to see you react to some Shanty Songs, fire and flame by the longest John's. Most tell a story
Hey hun listen to the stone temple pilots version of this song
Always nice to see you react. I wonder if you could react to a lyric version of Avenged Sevenfold - M.I.A. The song is from 2005. Avenged Sevenfold's lyrics are deep and emotional. This song is no exception.
I saw a lion he was standing alone with a tadpole in a jar.
Aren't they great? Do their live stuff!
Houses of the Holy is a better song, but it was left off that album (of the same name, Houses Of The Holy) because it was too similar to Dancing Days, and only reappeared on the next album, Physical Graffiti.
Well I think its a better song anyway.
Cheers.
I prefer dancing days
