I was 19 when it opened. Went often and then took my kids when they ere little, then again as grown ups. As one who has seen it's entire journey, i was skeptical but when finally went.... It was like I was a kid again. It has 10 thumbs up from someone who has seen it from day 1.
It's not that different and that was the point. I'm a native and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly at Casa Bonita. It's cleaner for sure and the food is absolutely better. That's all we wanted as natives.
ha ha birthdays all the time and roaches in the dining area under the cave area in the 90's. Glad to see something positive come out of it, just didn't realize you had to have a sponsorship to enter nowadays
Not exactly a sponsorship haha, just a fast finger eight months ago to get on the mailing list. I imagine they’ve gotta open it up to single day tix soon! Trust me, I’m a certified nobody
I grew up going every year for my birthday like a lot of local kids. About a year ago I had the chance to go and had an amazing time! I sat next to Trey Parker in the theater to watch the sorcerer! Later we ran back into Trey and threw a ton of quarters down the well. He was extremely proud that he had LeBron James saying he he Denver nuggets would win the championship. (This was when they were still in the playoffs) We took a picture with him and I thanked Trey for reviving a piece of my childhood. 10/10 experience!
I've been going to Casa bonita since the mid-70s. It's a colorado landmark. Brings back a lot of memories. Was able to get in earlier this year. Same as it ever was. Im glad they didn't change anything when they redid it.
I have been to Casa Bonita 400 times my 400th was on my birthday last year. Going again for 50th which will be 401. I have even performed in the theater.
The theme of the new puppet show is all of the food from the old Casa Bonita got kicked out of the kitchen and needed something new to do so they took over. It’s phenomenal
My first job I ever had was being a monkey at casa Bonita (wasn’t as cool as it sounds, as I was only the orange cartoony like monkey mascot, and my main job was actually a hostess order taker.), and this place has so many details that just make it so cool. For example, in the game room there is a mural that includes a small door. Well this is an actual door for the people to run the piñata. I’m so glad that Trey Parker and Matt stone wanted to “change nothing, upgrade everything,” because it’s perfect as it is. And for those who’ve never been there before it was reopened, yes, the food was as bad as they say. They even somehow managed to screw up the queso. Like how is that even possible to screw up queso?!
I think you will love it! The South Park presence is great but not intrusive. I think you will be proud of the work done! Y’all are lucky to have such an amazing place in your backyard!
Ive been to both iterations of CB! The new menu is a lot better…like worlds apart lol. Nothing was runny and I didnt have stomach issues 😮. The decor and everything else was about the same.
Awesome - love the perspective of someone who has been to both! I enjoyed my meal and the Underpants Gnome easter egg equally, which is to say, tons haha
Yea i grew up going here living in lakewood co,,,was always a joke because the food was just frozen,,,havent been since they reopened...used to work at that bw3s
I gave up hope for ever being able to go to Casa Bonita. Indeed, no one I know (and I know a LOT of people) has been able to go, though we all signed up for the "list" from the beginning. Reading about people who have been able to go multiple times is just a slap to the face...
Multilple times is nuts. I signed up probably within a minute or two of getting the email and it took me like four months haha. Maybe for the one year anniversary they will open it up to just buying a ticket. I hope they do soon!
Like people in the mountains would just decide to be homeless. Maybe look into skyrocketing rent and home prices and stagnant wages and consider how that may be impacting the homeless crisis and then do something like volunteering for Habitat for Humanity or donating to housing funds rather than writing off a whole city because homeless people exist.
@Erlrantandrage Denver isn't in the mountains, and homelessness isn't rent-based. It's drug-based and surged after legalization. Colorado didn't used to be like this. The homeless population changed dramatically. It wasn't common, but when it was, you'd recognize the homeless, and they'd recognize you, and you could talk to them.
@@KevKageNeedsALifeflavor was decent, but they charged us $1 after our 1st order, and they put the honey on for us. Back then, we could get all we wanted and we had honey on our table.
@@KevKageNeedsALifejust got back a few minutes ago. This time the food was better, chips were great! AND, they gave us the honey to add vs them putting it on!!
The food is awful and the security guards out front are ridiculous! I was sent back to my car because I had a plastic key chain baton 4 inches in length that they said could be a weapon. I guess the metal knives you get a dinner are not a weapon? Then during the puppet show I observed 3 security guards watching the crowd. What were they expecting!?! This kind of stuff just sours the evening.
I enjoyed what I got. I remember getting turned away at Six Flags once for my chain wallet haha - I guess it just depends. And the puppet show - they are SUPER CEREAL about not recording it. Same when I went. Because no matter how many times they say you can’t record the puppet show, someone’s gonna try and record the puppet show!
Everything is included in that price - the food and all the shows! The only add-on is booze and merch if you wanted. Still pricey but I’d say worth saving up for a special occasion maybe!
Are freaking kidding me dude? They are incredibly over priced and their food is not good at all. You get way better food at a food truck and way cheaper.
