"Playing the game alone is 100% the best way to learn"

You don't have friend?
Join a discord dude
I can relate. :/
Bruh, i bought the game for a friend who wasn't gonna get it but was interested in, but i know it's not something everyone can do so... Yeah find someone on a discord! It'll be fun
Honestly, unless you find someone who you really work well with, you're better off alone anyways. Unless you like dying.
I had a great time learning from a friend, every time he died I profited.
the true 200iq rat move
"Hey, will you pick that up for me?" "Oh sure buddy... oh gee shucks I died. Sorry m8. :-/"
A few weeks later:
"Hey... that gun you're using, that looks awfully familiar. I had one just like it. I mean JUST like it... come to think about it, that gear looks pretty familiar too. Oh well. Coincidence I guess."

Buddy: "ditch my guns and gear I should get it back tomorrow, you can have everything else"
Me: walking to extract on my way to sell all his stuff I "ditched"
As a noob, this is my strategy.
1- Spawn as scav, check your inventory, if its good sneak STRAIGHT TO EXTRACT looting what you come across. (use your phone or PC for map)
2. Repeat for better gear. Sell whatever rare items you get or encounter. SAVE UP MONEY AND AMMO.
3. Use collected items to build up a strong PMC. >INSURE YOUR GEAR PEOPLE<
4. Repeat as needed, once you're brave and comfortable with the maps and game, see if you can inflict some damage with the PMC
5. (very important) Stay out of firefights that are not worth the risk. That guy with a fully kitted AKM and armor will wipe the floor with your ass. Know when to engage and your odds of coming out on top.
6. If your PMC loses everything, repeat the steps. 1 or 2 scav survival runs can almost get you a full kit.
As a noob, seems like pretty solid advice, that I shall take on board, thanks. Literally got my first kill other day, he messed me up pretty bad, I died like 5mins later, so my advice is learn how to heal yourself.
My problem is mouse and keyboard coming from console to pc isn't easy. I honestly have no idea how you all make it seem so fluid. I have been doing the scav thing to get used to keyboard.... not doing great but I'm getting there.
James Davidson takes time and patience - I’ve played both console and pc my entire life and the one thing I see console players try is high sensitivity on PC - try using a low sensitivity, when on pc it helps make your shots more consistent and controllable, and work your way from there to find where you feel comfort. 0.5 sensitivity on tarkov is like level 9 controller on COD
@@jamesdavidson5703 there are aim training games on steam! They work well!
@@jordanjoestar8839 I will definitely be giving that a look at. Killed my first real player today. I'm keeping his tag as a trophy 😆
First thing he said is so relatable for me, got carried through by some super nice dude but I was just following him like a little kid.
Same, until I found a guy who let me actually play the game I really didn't learn anything or get good kills/plays by myself. If you do wanna play duo's do it with someone who isn't gonna baby you the whole way. Your duo should be encouraging you to make different (ideally better) decisions than you normally would, and vice versa. But at the same time if you aren't killing a good majority of shit on the map/hitting major loot spots first, you won't make shit for money. If all you care about is $ then in the end play solo and brute force learning the game like the rest of us old players, wiki is your best friend lmao just read the entire thing basically. Personally I get offended if I'm not involved in a firefight but being a little rat swiping every piece of loot before everyone else is good to get money for keys/gear/etc.
@@AsesinoBorde agreed, gotta get kills or make plays to make the real money. A good mixture of rat and chad works best I find. Go to firefights nearby and slither your ass up into an ambush position and wait till its almost over to move in and clean up weakened players, or 1tap the loot goblin as he runs off lol
@@danielsterling4918 Or just take out the stronger one basically lowering the total threat.

Then you finally find one and get picked by an exit camper
you might wanna play a lot of offline full of scavs just finding the extracts with maps on your second monitor/phone.

I totally agree that the best way to learn this game is by playing alone. Unfortunately, I am not Shroud.
eh, it's not even that. i get what he's saying cause when my friends helped me to get into the game I would never play much, couple times a week and usually ended in a ragequit. it was only once i started playing alone that i started getting more time into it and I started to enjoy it more. I'm by no means a shroud, I think my extraction rate is like 26% or something terrible like that.

@@genos876 that's 26% with 2 wipes under my belt and hundreds of hours, i'm pretty bad lol. learning the value of things is key so you can gamma shit like expensive keys to sell later. to be fair I do a lot of factory VPO/TOZ runs which doesn't help my average but it can't be much better than that.

@@BonfireGamer Factory runs in offline mode with insane AI hordes. it's good practice for aim since you often don't even get a chance to practice against other players. Also, never repeek a corner, good chance the other dude is waiting and you'll be dead before you find and aim onto him. Either wait for him or fall back to cover.
If I had only one tip for learning this entire game, it's this: Headshots. Learn how to consistently, smoothly shoot for heads, because often times a single shot will down someone if you hit them in the head, otherwise they can soak up a ridiculous amount of damage to the torso, staggering you while they shoot until one of you ends up dead. This is essential with pistols, but is extra deadly when done with actual weapons. Go into offline and just practice only aiming for heads on Scavs. It takes time to learn the sort of floaty aiming of Tarkov, but when you have it down you will be one tapping multiple enemies in rapid succession like John Wick or something, and it isn't even that difficult at short to medium ranges.

Scav runs in factory. Do enough of them and you'll get the multi million dollar keys eventually.
@7scrib lol shut the fuck up nobody wants you here
@7scrib it is hard... In a fight when the muzzle fire is on the middle of ur screen and can't u see ur enemy or if u paid 2 years ago over 800 euros for a pc and u can run only 40 fps on low
everyone saying scav on factory are wrong. its fun, and you do often make profit, but scav reserves is where the real consistency is
I've only gained by doing scav runs on factory, and while I'm waiting for a new scav I go to maps I don't know or haven't mastered and just go from spawn to extract. Great way of learning the map. Once you know the basic extracts then just go to the ones you don't necessarily need to go to. I also enjoy playing offline factory with both scav settings on high to practice aim. Hopefully this helps!
I feel like the hardest thing to work around in EFT is the anxiety. After you're through that phase, it doesn't matter too much if you play solo or in a group, since you'll be more focused on objective thinking about your plays. Both ways require the same moves from each player, more or less, with parties being more focused on actual tactics. That said, I'll agree that solo play is good for you. It's just not exactly the best way to learn. To each their own.
Tip #1: Get Better Frames.
Tip #2: Get Shroud Level Aim. The less time you take to deal with scavs, the more room you have to deal with players.
frames seems key. 144hz monitor ideal

Me and my two friends all started playing at the same time and it’s been so fun learning alongside them like we’re constantly sharing cool tips we find and the group raids are fun cause we were all at the same level
But, playing in 3 is way easier than solo, not only for the more Guns and ears and eyes, but way less anxiety and results in fights when most of the map is solo or duo and you are in 3

The more you play it gets a little better, but Tarkov does have some pretty fuzzy graphics, weird lighting and a very flat colour palette with flat textures too. Oh, and an obscene amount of fog. Indoors fog, ffs.

As someone who just started this wipe . The first tip was the best. I got carried like my first 100 raids until I took the training wheels off and went to learn the maps on my own.
You dont have to know every nook and cranny but you need to know the major hot spots and the exfils at the LEAST. Juat getting an idea of general map flow will helps tons
Got to agree with the going lone wolf to help learn. I have been playing initially with a level 20 friend and I felt like I was just being dragged around and I didn't really learn anything. I started running with a friend who is level 5 like me and that has been fun as we have been learning things together and getting into some proper messy situation.
So useful tips! Thanks!

Igor Grabiec you didn’t watch the whole thing stfu
Video: Tips for getting better.
Actual video: Shroud just destroying people with 1 tip.
As someone pretty new and still learning the game, the best thing you can do is just not be afraid and don’t hesitate. Shroud has said that this game isn’t like a battle royals at all but I definitely get the same feeling in this game that I did when I first played PUBG: being too scared of getting into fights because you don’t want your run to end. Doing that only makes you less prepared when a fight inevitably does happen and prevents you from the opportunity of getting better at netting kills to rake it big hauls of loot. Something else I’m learning is that every death should teach you some kind of lesson, which means the more you get out there and die from lack of experience, the more experience you’re now gaining
2 years have passed since this was uploaded. i am now watching this for tips. Much needed information.
So hyped to get this game
“Super fun and way easier” although I would say I’m above average on competitive games and such, but EFT is a completely new playing field for how much effort is needed - I’ve played games similar to this but it’s a whole new experience
I don’t mind dying and losing my gear but when I get one tapped across the map by someone when I have fairly good gear just gets tiring - or people who farm Factory all day that Insta-peek you in the head when you first spawn but I’ve been improving and working on getting better
Argonile I’m literally the exact same way couldn’t agree more, wanna run some customs one day?
Absolutely! I am comming from over 15 Years Counter Strike and several other competetive FPS. So i started with tarkov way too over confident and got absolutely destroyed. Tarkov is a completely different genre, good reflexes or a good aim is just not enough. That's probably one of the reasons why there is a lot of players over the age of 30 doing pretty good. Pestily and Deadly Slob or Kotton for example.
Honestly for me, starting off playing with others helped way more than playing on my own. 1. I actually retained what we were doing and why we were doing it 2. When I used to play alone I would be too afraid of going for geared players or into spiced areas and playing with even 1 other person gave me more confidence even when playing alone to do spicy shit. Even if you do get babied in the beginning just pay attention to what the person babying you is doing.
Playing with others on new maps is easier to learn extracts tbh. Just by memorizing where they travel by following certain landmarks or which directions to travel to which extracts can really help. Atleast for when its the first few runs. Learning other stuff like scav spawns off the top of your head and player spawns are great for solo players
Best way to pack your 5.45 mags:
1. 7 igolnik and 23 bs.
2. 4-5 bs and 25-26 bt.
3. For hunting scavs or eco use 10 bt and 20 ps and avoid pvp.
So me and a friend got this game and he doesn’t like to listen so everytime I told him where I was he didn’t listen and ended up doming me in the head every game, so overall that’s my experience
The sad thing is I can relate
That was insane gameplay
Playing with other people helps a lot as I’m someone who is asking questions every 5 seconds and without having people to answer those questions I wouldn’t have a clue what I was doing
Thx for the tips
Went bankrupt in my 1st week and I have bad ping. The key is to learn loot routes on each map as well as AI Scav locations. Murder them as they are easy to predict. Avoid PMCs and engage only if you positively have to. Go covert.
ZEN ZEN yeah I'm new to this game..no money for more than 2 budget raids... Have to learn maps a lot in this.. I just know customs
@@digviju001 I can tell that are many players who are new or returning. My usual "safest" loot route is no longer safe. Since hideout is introduced, I guess junk is now a valuable commodity. I tried teaming up but I keep getting backstabbed.
Just ambush ppl a lot lol
Thank you shroud like ur videos keep up
Within 15 seconds of this video you already solved my biggest issue with learning the game. Thank you lol
That was such good game play. Holy crap
The best thing about this game is killing a pmc from long range with a sniper and seeing his partner panicking running aroumd
Been playing solo for the past few days. Lost all of my gear, and literally get killed from outta nowhere. I guess it's all part of the learning curve of this hardcore game.
I understand what your saying shroud, but in the beginning when my friends were leading me to extracts and teaching me what med kits do what and types of ammo; I find that much better than learning all by myself. I learn from watching them play. But I know your way works too
I have played now like 6 raids, I got out 3 of the times with a total of 6 kills. I got help from my friends and honestly It was so much fun with the teamwork and such that I kind of think this is the best way for me to get introduced to tarkov. I now have the basics to go out there alone and learn all there is about this game, because there is SO much shit you gotta learn in this, lets be real
been loving the mp7 since bf3. That and the FAL (SA 58) go so hard together. pew pew. pewpewpewpewpewpewpew
i just started this game like a week ago, spawned tunnels at factory, wiped a three man in rage cage, died to a scav. Life is great.
11:11 that fight cost an arm and a leg
I fully believe you can learn at the same pace if not better with a person than playing solo. I understand what shroud is saying but if you have someone that doesn't hold your hand and puts you in charge, gets you to go first, choose where to go, where to loot and what to look for its just as fun and rewarding as playing solo with the added benefit of playing with a teammate. Luckily, my friend was kind enough to do this and it's how I learnt the game for the most part.
Me personally, a good friend of mine and I got the game at the same time and it was so great going through the game together because we always play together and are learning the game together
I am very new to tarkov and I was wondering what gun and mods did shroud use in this video thank you in advance for any tips
Shroud: lives through several high caliber shots
Friend: I got one tapped.
I'm basically the friend.
This rings true also with a buddy who is just as new as you are and then you can learn from each other while learning together. You don't have to be alone. Streamers are more used to playing alone a lot of the time. I wouldn't start with a 3 or 4 man team but you and a buddy would be absolutely fine and it helps your survival rate while you learn.
i miss these low key super chill streams peeposad
tl:dr the way to get good is 3 factors, knowledge, skill and prep, having the knowledge to plan your route through a raid and to efficiently/effectively engage targets (like what ammo types work against what armor) having the skills to out-maneuver your opponent in combat, outright shooting better and learning what safe routes to take or ideal places to reposition to without accidentally engaging another opponent and finally the prep, the gear to execute your strategies and enhance your skill be it better ammo, a new optic, grenades or medical equipment.
Rocking MP7 3 years ago. . . Legend.
helped alot
In my opinion I think at the very start it's good to have someone help you on the first few raids to help you adjust. Then afterwards when you know some basics you can solo. My brother's friend has been carrying me in my raids by finding all the loot for my raids and just telling me what to do. I can learn some useful tips but i dont learn much and it definitely isn't as fun. I want to strat soloing to learn more but alr lost lots if gear before when i tried it so I'm still nervous but it's what i have to do to learn and improve.
This is my first wipe. I’m lvl 27 and knowledge is everything. Been playing Tarkov since November almost everyday dying and killing. 248 raids and I love it.
bro, this isn't arma. its hardcore, not a milsim. I understand what you mean, but he is doing what he can to survive a firefight.
ok that was meant for someone else my bad. wrong comment lol
A huge tip i can give as a guy who's still in process of learning is avoid gear fear especially now wipe is upcoming you need to be able to take on geared people and make the most of gear you get if youre experienced in hatchiling running or naked mosin taking potshots you wont be able to pick up good gear and make the most of it
100% agree with his beginning statement, all I did was play squad before and now that I play solo and I’m so much better
What I got from this was that Shroud doesn't like to hold hands during games; perhaps a hug will do? For scientific research, of course.

i hate getting carried 100% but i LOVE playing with friends. i get so distracted and never end up playing much alone
Having a friend to help guide you through the immense amount of information and resources the game throws at you can be helpful.
The boots seem so damn heavy haha.
The footsteps are loud in this game, but he was also wearing a headset (the in-game item). They magnify player movements so your footsteps sound extra loud. All the different headsets balance sound differently, so if you notice when he switched headsets when looting those two guys, his game sounded different.
Could the next video be shrouds tarkov taps? Maybe some spice clips
yes i found ya i used to watch u stream pubg . i have now build myself a pc got pubg and this game . best streamer to learn from
What is your pc specs and tarkov settings? im playing 1440p with 3070 and ryzen 7 3700x and getting like 70-90 fps on medium
Hey shroud, can you make a video on your headset settings for your G pro X? Stereo i guess? Any EQ?
So I was a pro musician for years before starting a career in I.T. The best way to get good sound that sounds as close to the original intention as possible is to look up a video for "Pink noise for stereo tuning" and adjust the EQ so the static sounds the same volume across all frequencies. Pink noise is noise that's calibrated to sound completely even to the human ear so if volumes of different frequencies DO sound louder or softer, you know that you need to adjust them. If you aren't happy with the sound, you can always adjust it from there to your liking, but at least you'll have a baseline.
Groovemaster2k I’ll try that! Thank you very much!

On average how much food and water should you bring for a raid?
Walk, wait, observe, listen, kill, wait, WAIT, wait.... loot.

Dont put something out for 1 million rubels
My first raid was with a friend he showed me good loot spots and a few extract points imo it was better than going alone cause I wouldn't even of known anything probably got myself killed lost money and didn't know any extract points
Tried this game 3 different times over the last year, and the most fun I had was when my homies (4 guys) all died within like 30 secs and I had to find loot and extract by myself.
I've played my first 50 or so raids solo and I can't get anywhere. Just trying to do quests to level up and I keep running into geared squads. It's crazy.
This is like, advice for life.
Jeez, the first thing he said hit me hard. I am being carried rn. Maybe I should try playing alone sometimes, like the good old times.
100% agree with what shroud said about learning the game alone
I got a friend of mine into eft and he was just following me around like a dog after a bone and he just kept dying cause he didnt know any angles or spots from where he could get sho and he didnt want to play alone, he quit after 3 days, rip.
Also i feel like the game becomes better when i play alone, less shit to worry about.
*Reads title*
Is this how to become a god?
Badass escape in the parking lot
i play with friends but we all do our own stuff, we all do our own separate information gathering. so when we get into a map, we all have different knowledge on loot places, places to go to and stuff to keep and what is not worth. we all help each other for quest but we do a lot on our own as well.
He played alone? I thought he played *A LOT* with that Klean guy when he was doing quests?
Your Scav and PMC get stronger as you level them up.. so his just play to get better is the most honest advice for the game.. it sucks starting out but it does get better if you stick with it..
The thing is I don't let my friends hold my hand i just struggle to figure looting
A good rule also is never ever underestimate scavs like most streamers will.
