    Mike lies about many things, but the Neuer message is very clearly real. I've stood over footballers (Jose Reyes RIP was very difficult, could barely speak english at the time let alone promote golf vacations) and musicians doing similar before while working in marketing roles, and if you read the full german text Mike sent, it's very a clearly a 'My glove sponsors told me to send you a pair and a good wishes message because you are getting a lot of hits on german youtube' type message rather than him reaching out to Mike completely out of the blue.

    He had a video previous to the RB video that was titled or had in the thumbnail 'my first pro contract' that I think he deleted. I love the misspelled Neuer post and the GK coach being held hostage. You can tell from his content, he's not even a remotely serious GK.

    I don’t think you messed up. Content creators each have their own “sell”. The most successful GKs on UA-cam aren’t pro players (Ben Foster excluded) and couldn’t be due to the time it takes to be a pro (and content creator). That said, I do think the algorithm has moved massively in the click-bait direction as informative / instructional videos now get a 10th of the audience they used to 😢 Several grassroots GK have made a success of go-pro in the goal, which surprises me since I find it hard to take away any secrets of success from such a limited viewing angle. Keep going with the great uploads!

    I'm glad this video showed up on my feed because man do you lose track of many of the smaller channels when you're subscribed to so many people. I remember you having some level-headed, direct and honest opinions. Nothing over the top, overly positive, overly negative - just balance. It's the same as I remember, nice. Given the content of UA-cam, if you would like to promote football and goalkeeping to the younger audience, I believe that you would at least need to go to a pitch and show some drills. Best if you could have some children/teenagers with you. Kids are used to teachers, kids are used to other kids so that familiarity would definitely help. I've seen some academies of sorts in Poland where I live where a skillful "coach"? teaches kids/teenagers how to dribble, use skills. I am not sure whether it is professional, but definitely some activity. Something that makes you grow on the side or for kids who aspire to join professional academies. I am not saying to kidnap kids from your neighbours, but there are definitely ways to create a small school of goalkeeping and how to create videos based on that. On the other hand having this reaction type of content, especially discussions, monologues. That's more for the likes of me and I appreciate your videos. I'll never be a goalkeeper, too old and fat anyway, but I was always very passionate about football so hearing more in depth in a conversation like style about football and its secrets, sounds great. Just may not be that popular. I'm glad that you have over 8k subcribers, you deserve that. Regarding Modern Goalkeeper, the cycle of views continues, good for you and GkGoluremi. It's just funny how this guy attacks GKGoluremi specifcally trying to undermine his credentials. Given that he is only a social media content creator, not a pro keeper, fuck me that's some ego and irony ^^. It sounds like a slip on his side to be honest because he tries to maintain this positive, honest personality, but he didn't keep his composure and attacked. A massive liar and egoist.

    The context you’re missing is that Mike brags he’s a pro. He brags he’s getting all these contract offers and giving out advice like he’s a pro. He’s making amateur mistakes and calling himself a pro. If you critique him as a pro it’s hilarious how bad he is. If you critique him as an amateur, he’s got a good baseline athletically though he is out of shape. The thing is, as a I mentioned in the first bit, he is not a pro. He should be judged as a weirdo talking a big game when it’s obvious he’s only doing it to pretend to be relevant in his social media online bubble.

    @colitoburrito 24 дні тому

    My thoughts (If you want my qualifications as a GK, you can click my channel and watch my recent highlights): Goal 1 (1:36): Correct decision to come forward, but should not have committed to the ball. Mike should have noticed the #9 as an option and not fully committed because of that player. Should have broken down a little short of the 6 and trusted his reactions. Mike's defender is off balance, so Mike did a good job of recognizing this and coming out. Because of their balance, it's not reasonable to believe that defender would be able to close the space between himself and the striker in time to affect the play. Additionally, the three defenders dropping back to the line shows me the lack of trust they have in Mike, a poor reflection of this team's chemistry. Goal 2 (3:14): I mostly agree with Mac. Loading on the leg is fine, but Mike needs to have enough balance to react to that change. Had the ball deflected off a defender to go to Mike's left, would Goluremi still have the same criticism? Reading the striker is a part of goalkeeping, sometimes you just get it wrong. Once Mike realises he read wrong, that should have been a foot save. I think recognizing that as a foot save is the experience issue. Foot saves aren't pretty and it's not normal to train them, but it would have been the correct decision in this situation to keep the ball out of the net. Goal 3 (8:41): Disgusted to see the defender #7 give up so easily and release pressure. As for Mike, this shot is saveable, I would argue his legs are too far apart when he's set. You can see he's expecting a higher shot, so when the shot comes, he isn't able to get enough lateral power. Look at 8:38 - Mike kicks his left leg inside instead of pushing off of it, which he can't do because of his set position, causing his dive to go nowhere and making it impossible to shoot that left hand out and down to meet the ball. With no power through the leg, Mike fell, not dove. With how close he was, had he got enough power through that left leg, he definitely could have saved it. Goal 4 (8:46): Yes, it's fair to blame the defenders, but I also assume Mike's lack of experience makes him a very poor communicater and organizer. Defenders are ultimately responsible for their positioning, but through all these goals, Mike doesn't seem to know how to help them. End of the day, it is a good goal and it's unreasonable to blame Mike. Props to him for even trying to save that. Goal 5 (9:21): Never blame a GK for giving up a PK. Goal 6 (9:46): Defender should be glad this is the last game and they're already out of the tourney. He's off my roster and getting spit on in the locker room. Save 1 (10:10): I agree with Mac. Though I've always called them ECNL saves. Save 2 (14:10): Good decision. Job done, no complaints. Goal 7 (14:37): Lazy defenders again and I agree with Mac. I think the prediction is fine here, but Mike could have been another step or two higher. Passing (16:07): Fully agree with Goluremi and Mac. Mike trains saves, not goalkeeping. Goal 8 (16:41): Agree with both Goluremi and Mac. At this point in the tourney, I assume Mike and team have given up all hope, so I'm not surprised he's getting lazy and careless. Based on what we've seen from his training, I'm also going to assume Mike's match fitness isn't very good, which also explains the laziness. His reaction to the rebound can also be attributed to a lack of experience. Even if his defenders have it, they're under pressure, meaning Mike shouldn't be switched off here. Even if you can defend Mike based on his experience, you shouldn't excuse his laziness. Goal 9 (20:22): Mac and Goluremi's analysis of both the situation and Mike's form are fair and accurate. I'm also attributing this to Mike being tired and beat down. He definitely looks scared of the ball, probably because he's given up at this point in the tourney. Goal 10 (21:03): I agree with Mac. Should be saved. Mike's left hand doesn't even go for the ball and the dive is backwards (look at where Mike is facing as he gets up from the shot). Same as shot #3, Mike needs to have all his power going through that left hand as it shoots out for the ball. Relying on the right hand to windmill around is way too slow and you're never going to save a shot with technique like that. Had Mike had proper technique, he would have landed on his side, not rolled over onto his stomach so just from that you can tell this is a poor effort. Mike put in commendable effort but the technique was poor. Goal 11 (21:41): Lazy defending. Needs to be closer to the ball and Mike should be telling him this. If Mike was communicating effectively and the defender just wasn't listening, then I have no problems with Mike's attempt here, other than his palms need to be turned to face the ball as he's set, not backwards or the ground. I don't think making this adjustment would have led to a save, but it's good practice in my book and definitely a technique improvement Mike could make. Goal 12 (22:16): Agree with Goluremi. Also, as Mike comes off the post when the player cuts inside, Mike could have shifted another step to his left as he's too close to his near post when the ball is shot, but it's not fair to blame Mike for this goal and his effort was fair. My final thoughts: Mike is an entertainer and internet personality, not a role model or educator. When it comes to Mike's abilities as a goalkeeper, I think Goluremi has a good message of "don't listen to this guy, you don't want to be like him", but I do respect Mike as an influencer. He makes entertaining content, which is the reason why he is so successful. Mike needs to take a look around him and recognize that he's not respected by other goalkeepers. The 12 year olds in his comments telling him he's the GOAT are not qualified to do so and if that's where Mike goes to feed his ego, I feel sorry for him.

      @Zander_Barrera 21 день тому

      I disagree hella with that first thing you said. He should’ve stayed as not given an open goal to the other team when all the defenders are there to help keep the ball away. Doesn’t matter how many people are guarding the net only the keeper can use hands to get it out. If you’re going out like that then there’s something wrong. If you were my coach I’d get cut from your squad because I’m arguing everything. I’ve had a lot of experience in these situations.

    • @valentinazmi8858
      @valentinazmi8858 21 день тому

      @@Zander_Barrera so you can’t go out slightly? I agree that you shouldn’t have to come out like mike did but to put pressure on the attacker at their closest position to the goal which was that specific player’s best chance to score is good in this situation since no defender can block the early shot. However not fully commiting is crucial so you dont get passed around and scored on by overcommiting, this will close down some space and leave the rest to your reaction timing, whilst putting pressure on the striker with your defenders on the line giving you the best chance in my opinion. I’m not sure if your experience is with these sized goals since 11 aside is completely different to this but I would think with you being relatively close to the striker reacting to shots close to you and your defenders on the line the chances of blocking the shot are best. It is a bit of a subjective situation however and can vary depending on your strengths as a keeper

    I'm an amateur GK from Colombia, and your videos are awesome. I'm glad I've found your channel. It's hard to sort through the social media fluff to get to the solid advice on how to do... well, anything, better.

      Umm the mls is Pro... Even if its not as popular as the bundesliga or serie A the mls and a few lower tiers are definitely pro...

      If I'm honest well I'd say it's not rlly got much young quality players to work with give it a decade or two and I think it'll be a top league but at the moment it is pretty shit tbh

      He still makes money to pay dork, that’s what being a pro is. Are you saying something like the Belgian league isn’t real because they don’t really compete well in European competition? You sound like a Mike Bolvin hanger on.

    Only player on the field to be the only one playing their position, Only player on the field to constantly have the opposition fans shouting abuse at you from behind your goal, Only player on the field who gets criticised for every mistake they make, The loneliest position in football.

      If you’ve got the will, and the desire to persevere despite any obstacle, you’ve got all the potential in the world sir. Seems like you’re motivated, just keep up the consistency and you’ll get exactly where you need to go.
