Hi, Bakers! I'm Crystal, The Cake Lady, and I have been baking and decorating cakes for over a dozen years. I started learning the craft when I found out I would be an aunt so that I would be able to make all of my nephew's birthday cakes. As it turns out, tons of people love to get beautiful and tasty custom cakes, so over the years, I have made literally hundreds of cakes and learned lots of tips, tricks and techniques which I would love to share! Please offer any suggestions of videos topics/ideas you'd like to see in the future! Thanks for viewing, liking and subscribing! Happy Baking!
Bride & Groom Chocolate Covered Strawberries #shorts
Hi, Bakers!
I'm Crystal, The Cake Lady, and today I'm showing you how to make these adorable bride and groom strawberries in a #short 60 second video! These are perfect for a wedding or even a bridal shower and all it requires is strawberries, white and dark chocolate, wax paper, and a piping bag or 2!
Start with clean, dry, room temperature strawberries. Melt white chocolate at half power until fully melted in a microwave safe bowl. Dip the "Bride" by tilting to the left, then to the right for a sweetheart neck line. Allow to dry. Dip the front of the "Groom" in the white chocolate for the white shirt portion. Allow it to cool fully as well.
The "Bride" can be adorned with simple lines of white chocolate in a herringbone pattern as I do in the video, or edible sprinkles, pearls or even more intricate designs can be made by piping white chocolate....feel free to get creative!
The groom needs to be slightly tilted in dark chocolate each way for the "tux". Then I put a small amount of dark chocolate into a piping bag and cut a very small hole to add the "buttons" and "bowtie", which is simply two triangles connecting in the middle. How simple!
These little cuties can literally be made in a matter of minutes.
I wouldn't make them more than a day ahead of time, and storing in the refrigerator could cause condensation to form on the outside once they're set out, so ideally they should sit out at room temperature, lightly covered until ready to serve.
Enjoy!

So COOL!!!❤
Thank you so much!
I’m excited to have found you!! Adding this to the list to try very soon! I’ll report back!❤ Thanks!!!
Yay! I hope you love it!
Love it!!!
Hi Crystal just came across your channel, love the bakery in new shed, I run my bakery in Pennsylvania and I rent a commercial kitchen bc I have pets at home, I am planning to move to Florida next year, and I figured I can run bakery out from home I don’t need license. But a garage can’t be used as home bakery. Do you have any advice and suggestions? Are you using the shed as a home bakery? please make a video on this topic. Thank you
I love this! Are you located in a winter climate? What kind of heating system did you install?
This is awesome. Nice work.
This would be heaven for me unfortunately I still rent but god would I love to buy a house just to have property to do something like this lol forget the house I want the bakery shed
Thank you! I hope this happens for you one day, too! ❤
Amazing I made it to my brothers birthday and he loved it!!!
I'm so happy to hear that! Thanks for letting me know! 🥰
This is so absolutely cool and creative. Now I want one.
Thank you! I highly recommend it! 😉
🏆🏆🏆🏆
Such a beautiful space!❤ Congrats! Could you give a ballpark figure of the total cost? Thank you!
Did you get your space classified as a commercial kitchen? I am in the process of planning something like this and I was wondering how your process went! Thanks for any help!
Nice!!!
Thanks so much!
Love! What is behind the fridges? Is it an office space? Where do you keep things like boxes, cakeboard, etc.? I have a HUGE shelf just for that stuff! And… do you think two people would be able to work comfortably in this space?
So, the area behind the fridges has a washer and dryer and a little storage space for non-cake items, too. I store my boards on one of the shelves up against the entrance wall. For my boxes (which I find to be the biggest challenge to store) I actually have a cabinet space that I put dividers in and different sized boxes have their own compartment. I wish I could attach a photo to better describe it.....
Just beautiful! You transformed that shed into an extremely functional and beautiful workspace. Kudos to your husband. I am so jealous.
Awww, thank you so much! I am surely enjoying it! I hope you get yours soon, too! 😘
Add more under cabinet lights on your refrigerator side- lots of shadows show up in the video. To help with heat exhaust, add a roof vent (or two) with a thermostat to help cool your kitchen on the hottest days. Your kitchen looks beautiful! I've been entertaining this idea to make a shed into a bakery. Thanks for the additional inspiration! Blessings!
Those are so cute aunt crystal!
Hi Cristal, you are already missed, why have you already abandoned us? We hope to see you soon, see your recipes, I learn a lot from them, I greet you immensely from my heart, and greetings to the whole family, Blessings from above.🤗
If you don't mind me asking, what was the approximate cost from start to finish? Just a ballpark cost? Thank you and I loved your video. Thank you for sharing.
Awww, thanks so much for your kind feedback! ❤ I did a very poor job of recording keeping but if I had to guess, I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of $18-$20K including the purchase of the building, moving it, and finishing it out along with the appliances/countertops and whatnot. Hope this helps!
@@crystalthecakelady1313 you did an excellent job with recording. Thank you for sharing this information. Do you have a website for where you got your shed?
That is beautiful😍 God bless ur business
Thanks this was really helpful
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for the feedback ;-)
4:58 Im in Florida too. I thought you have to operate a cottage food law business out of your primary residence, no outbuildings or sheds? Have the laws changed, is it by the county you reside in? Thank you for your time to respond. 😊
Do you have a mop sink?
What quantity of icing did you use?
That's a good question. It's hard to say exactly, but probably make about 4 cups to be safe, or half a batch of the "American Buttercream" recipe on my channel. Maybe hilf back a little on the whipping cream, too so that it isn't too soft to piper the hair ;-)

I need one for all my cake stuff! It’s taking over 😅
This is amazing❤ I would like to build something similar. What was the cost of having this done?
Speed rack! Gorgeous space !!
Thanks so much! I'm loving it! ❤️
Love it! 💜 living my dream
Your kitchen is so beautiful!!! You and your husband did a wonderful job. Happy Baking!!!
Thank you so much, Missy! 🥰
Thank you soooo much for sharing your journey. I’m in the process of doing this and it can seem a bit overwhelming. Watching your video makes me feel so much better!! Again thank you soooo much!!!
Oh, wow! Congratulations on starting your bakery she shed! I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed! I just had to focus on one task at a time to keep on track. Once it's finished, I promise it will be worth all of your hard work! 😊😘
Absolutely Love This!
Thanks, Rhonda! 🥰
It looks good 👍 👌
Promo SM 😕
Was it certified and approved by the health department. I want to do this for my foodtruck business.
Where I live, there are allowances made for "cottage bakers" (people without a storefront that sell baked goods from their home). I'll bet the laws are different for food trucks, and probably vary from state to state. That sounds super exciting, though! I think a cupcake food truck sounds like a dream! Best wishes to you in your venture ❤
I am thrilled to find your video!!! I have literally been begging my husband to build a new house just so I can have a bakery space. A building like you have is the answer for me too. I can already envision the place to set it up in the yard that will put the door to the building very close to the door coming from the house. My husband was very interested in checking out the types of buildings that we could purchase. Thank you Thank you………
Awwww, I am so happy to hear that you found my video useful and even happier that you'll soon be starting on a space for yourself! I'd love to see it as it's coming along, or answer any questions that my be helpful! Best of luck, Sandra! 😘❤
Hi Crystal, just reporting results on this luscious cake! BIG HIT!! I did make the later cake, and though it was challenging cutting beautiful slices, EVERYONE RAVED over it! I'm not able to eat sweets, and let me say it was very hard to resist😁. I really encourage everyone to try this, it's easy and I've been asked to make it again soon, so you'll be rewarded with oohs & ahhs! Thank you Crystal for sharing your beautiful creations with us! ❤️
Awww, this brings such a big smile to my face! 😃 I am so happy to hear it was a hit! ❤ It is truly one of my favorites, too! 🤤
Hello! I love your channel since I just stumbled on it, so glad I did! I'm going to make this cake tommorow, but was wondering if the praline topping makes for difficult slicing considering the praline hardens?? Would it slice better if made in deep 9x13 dish?? Thank you for your help, I'm anxious to try this & will post my comments after tommorow! ☺️
While you could make it in a 9 x 13 pan (just be careful not to fill it more than 1/2 way so it doesn't spill over!), as long as you don't overcook the cake layers, it isn't too hard to slice. :-) Either way, I think I think it is going to be a delicious treat! 🤤 Thanks for your comment, and do lmk how it comes out! 🥰
What size is your shed?
12 x 32 ft.
me dio hambre, pero este fin, hare tu receta, se ve delicioso, Dios te Bendiga amiga, te mando un abrazo desde Mexico, saludos.
I know it will come out amazing! Enjoy! ❤
holaaaaaaaaa amiguita como estas? Dios te Bendiga y Bendiga tu canal, te mando un fuerte abrazo desde Mexico , saludos.🤗
Hi, Rossy! So glad to hear from you! Hope all is well in Mexico, my friend! 😃
How long can the cake set out or does it have to be refrigerated?
Once you frost it with the fresh whipped cream it will need to be refrigerated (it can sit out for an hour or 2 during serving, but not longer than that). It's fine to sit out if it doesn't have the frosting on it, though.
