- Hi, Bakers! I'm Crystal, the Cake Lady and today I'd like to teach you how to make Hummingbird Cake! This southern staple is made with over-ripe bananas, crushed pineapple, pecans, and we will finish it off with cream cheese icing, which I'll also walk you through in this video :) I hope you find this video helpful! This sounds so delicious but with all those layers Tom and I would be eating it all week. I think I'm going to cut the recipe down for just one layer. Wish me luck!
You could always wrap the other layers and freeze them to enjoy later! :-)
Some people like their frozen bananas peeled. I like mine just thrown in the freezer and then just squish them out like toothpaste when you've thawed them.
I do it the same way, Eileen! Built in wrapping 😉
