Coradion altivelis ( Hi Fin butterflyfish), chaetodon marginalis (Marginalis butterflyfish), chaetodon flavirostris ( Dusky butterflyfish)

I feed them a blend of shrimp, mussels, clams, salmon and nori. Nowadays I am adding artemia (sometimes alive) as I am enticing the new fish to eat. 3x daily. I don't have access to mysis shrimp, that would be a better choice instead of artemia, I believe.

@@JorgeMacedo OK interesting. Are most of these foods frozen from a packet or do you make ur own food? I feed my tank mysis (in addition to other foods) and some corals definitely enjoy it! The LPS and sun corals in particular!

@@dannybellew9557 I prepare the foods myself. Most of it is from a market in a Mangrove area where they sell lots of seafood even the shrimp are kept alive in tanks, artemia is brought and sold alive or frozen to a local marker, salmon I get from a supermarket and I bring everything home, blend it and packed it into plastic bags and freeze. Then I cut it into cubes and into a plastic box in the freezer.

That's awesome, I can't get foods fresh like that, so I have to make do with frozen and dried foods etc 😒

Thank you so much! Agreed, sometimes we need to take risks and try by ourselves. This is the case with the flavirostris as it continues nibbling my coral. Two weeks passed and I keep pushing for the flavirostris to accept and go for foods other than the corals.

Thank you. No3 at 2.5ppm now (usually undetectable). I stopped testing for PO4 a few years ago. Don't have a PAR meter , never needed one.😁

This is not the more common copperband butterflyfish, this is a Marginalis butterflyfish. :)

I love bird wrasses, I had a couple, but sooner or later they all end up trying to eat smaller tank mates , so no more bird wrasses for me and if I am not mistaken I gave the sailfin to another reefer when I bought the powder blue as the sailfin would end killing the pbt . I know the sailfin was in the tank long before the ptb but to be honest the ptb is one of my favorite fishes and this one is a beauty.

@@JorgeMacedo Aspera is unfamiliar acropora to me, how challenging it is to take care of? Seems you can grow it very well :D

@@sandymanplays It is one of the easiest acros to care and it grows very fast, I have been giving away so many frags and sometimes have to throw away tips growing to close to other corals.

Muito obrigado Flavio. A rotina é a mesma, no entanto em Novembro do ano passado cheguei à conclusão de que aditivos acabam por ter efeito negativo em acropora e tanque em geral, desde então não adciono nada, apenas o Balling da Fauna Marin e trocas de àgua, de resto tudo igual.

@@JorgeMacedo espetacular....mantém os mesmos produtos da fauna marin?color elements etc? Também uso o balling fauna marin e para mim é 5estrelas

@@flaviocardoso9512 apenas o balling. Estou a pensar em voltar a usar o color elements se aumentar o tempo entre mudanças de água. mas ainda não decidi. Actualmente continua a fazer trocas de água semanais, mas tenho andado a pensar em fazer TPA de duas em duas semanas, nesse caso adicionarei Color elements na semana em que não fizer troca de água. mas ainda estou apenas a pensar nisso.
