@AdamZDrumming fill 2 and 3, I saw two floors tom you used. so total is 3 toms so i thought maybe tom 2 is the other one. so I'm asking where to beat or counting because one tom and one floor tom total of 2 toms. We only had our drum set. example of counting is 1&2&3&4&. 3(snare) &(tom 1) 4(tom 2) &(floor tom) where do I put the beat 4 (tom 2) because we don't have tom 2? hope you can help me.

​​@@lazysai7839As long as it's in time and the same amount of hits you can play whatever combination of drums you want. A few examples for fill 2 you could do 3 on snare the & of 3 on Tom 1 then the 4 & on floor tom. Or you could play 1 on snare the &3& on Tom 1 and then the 4& on your floor tom. As long as you're starting on 3 (fill 2) ending up back on your crash + bass on 1 it will work within time so you can experiment with what sounds good.

@@EstebanOnGuitar thanks for watching man. I record into my tascam and make sure only one side is plugged in so it's mono. Then whatever I pan hard right you can only hear super quiet. This only works if your iem mixer is hooked up stereo though.

@@AdamZDrumming Nice! That's a great idea. My church has stereo IEM's. So, do you only listen to the right side live that way you hear the click?

@@EstebanOnGuitar yeah you have to have the click panned right as you're playing too. That's what I always do so I'm used to it.

Hey Paul thanks for your comment. I don't think you would be doing yourself a disservice especially if you're just trying to have some fun with it. I do think you should think about it and determine if you actually want to be able to play though and either go all in or don't. I think a lot of people say "I'm not serious about it" as a defense mechanism because they're afraid they won't be any good at it, when in reality no one is good at it when they first start out lol. @@AdamZDrumming Hey Adam, nice to hear back from you so soon. Thank you, you’ve given me much to think about. Ironically, in my case I’m not worried about whether or not I’m any good at it to start with. I play piano at an OK level and I’ve developed a reasonable sense of timing over the years. I’m in my mid 50s now with family responsibilities, so any musical activities will be just for fun and decompressing after work. Really appreciate where you’re coming from though. If I could wind back the clock I’d definitely love to go all in seriously. Or I can keep that in mind for retirement! I’ll be glad to use your link if I end up purchasing. Thanks again, Adam.

@@PaulJRBarnett I think the only disservice you might be doing for yourself is not giving this the level of effort it deserves. There are plenty of guys who I teach who are family men and still make time for it. It's easy in the beginning to pick up a lot of bad habits teaching yourself and playing music is much more enjoyable when you have some level of skill. This doesn't mean you have to shirk your family or responsibilities, but I would give it some more attention than the you're talking about it. Just something to think about.

Hi Brother Adam, I am from Papua New Guinea for short we call it (PNG) and I am a self thought musician in my church and I believed it's a gift from God course I didn't attend any drumming classes but I learn it by seeing and hearing through others after seeing your drumming lessons in your UA-cam tutorial I am bless because you didn't teach piano only but also the word of God you share as bless and it urged mi to comment again thanks so much .

@@Vetea19 Hello, yes, 9 years (I'm wondering this myself) and I've never regretted it. First, the noticeable latency is equal to zero. You can play really fast things. If you don't know him, search for “YoYo Funk by Gergő Borlai on Aerodrums” (the 3:57 minute version) Check out his striking technique and how he holds his sticks. I've tried different techniques over the last 9 years, but I think his one is the most efficient and joint-friendly technique for air drumming and gives even some sort of rebound. Then you talked about drifting, so I assume you've encountered drifting somewhere. Maybe in a cardboard VR game, or you may have heard about drift problems with simultaneous devices like Pocketdrum, Hyperdrum or Freedrum. These devices, like smartphones, are all based on MEMS sensors (gyroscope/accelerometer chips) and ALL suffer (more or less) from drift. Not so with Aerodrums. Aerodrums uses optical motion capture with passive markers, a technique typically used for special effects in film productions. There is no drifting at all. If you don't touch the camera and don't move your seat, you can play for hours (I just finished a nearly two and a half hour gig) without recalibrating anything. By the way, Aerodrums2 will be released soon. Since I was one of the first backers of their Kickstarter project last year, I'm expecting mine in August. It will be an autonomous device (operating without a computer) based on infrared technology and much less sensitive to ambient light.
