I've never had to be mic'ed up, be behind an acoustic shield or use an in-ear monitor - how distracting is the in-ear against the ear that doesn't have the monitor? 2b. Hey great questions! 1. Learning songs for Sunday I usually listen to the original and try to get close, but I like to play my own style rather than copying note for note. Although copying a song note for note is a great exercise. 2a. In ear monitors are the best for being able to hear the band well and with the right set up you can control your own mix of what you want to hear. 2b. I have a click track and the whole band in my ears and I can control the levels of each instrument.
