According to the legends, Pandavas took this route while their ascent to heaven. Only Yudhishthira (one Pandavas) and a dog were able to reach heaven. All the other Pandavas died on the way.

As per legends belief, Swargarohini is the only path from where one Can Reach Heaven in Human form.
Satopanth, the sacred lake lies Chaukhamba massifs. It believed that Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh took a bath in the waters of this Lake, so it is considered holy and pure.
Difficulty Level : Moderate to Difficult
Max Altitude : 5200 m
Set at an elevation of 4600 m above sea level, Satopanth is a crystal clear emerald lake located in the Garhwal Himalayas. Surrounded by snow-clad mountains on all sides, the setting of the lake fills you with immense tranquility. The trek is becoming quite popular in recent times and is known for its religious significance and grand mountain views.
Satopanth Lake is triangular and can be easily accessed from Lakshmi Van near Badrinath. According to Hindi mythology, it is said that the Trimurti - Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh all meditated together on the three corners of the lake. Some mythological stories also say that the Pandavas took the path to heaven from Mana Village via Satopanth Tal to reach the steps of heaven at Mt. Swargorohini.
The lake is not the only attraction of the trek but the trail itself passes through many scenic wonders. The trail goes through Mana Village, which is the last village in India and you will also cross two beautiful waterfalls - Sahastradhara and Vasundhara. Also, Lakshmi Van and Khakrateertha are two beautiful campsites along the trail, and camping in these meadows is a highlight of the trek as well.
From the lake, you can see clear views of Mt. Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Balakun, and Swargarohini. The trail to Satopanth Lake is situated at the base of Mt. Nelkanth, so you get an amazing view of the Mountain after you cross the Lakshmi Van forest. The beautiful forests, ancient temples, quaint villages, lovely meadows, and breathtaking mountain views make Satopanth a must-do trek.

Best time to visit sept ar oct h. Himlayan peaks dikhti h ar roopkund tak trail bani hui rehti h. Winter wear, good shoes, polarized glasses( for snow), trekking bag , trekking stick, head band.

Nope. Dont go this trek without prior experience. Its difficult. 12k trek cost approx
Congratilations,...Nice Trek with interesting Information, I went to Roop Kund in Sep.1992 along with my two other friends, I had to open the Route around 1000 feet upto Roop Kund Lake due to heavy snow fall......😊💐👍

@@solankiharshit008 it depends during that year , there was no snow in December but snow in Jan end to Feb mid. What I can suggest is checking the weather before you plan. If it shows , it is going to snow you can plan at that time. Usually there will be snow in December

Aap se kuchh jaankari chahiye thi roopkund trek kr liye, 1.kya hum ye trek without guide kar sakte h? 2.lohajung tak jaane ke liye haridwar ya rishikesh se bus mil jayegi?
1. Trek bina guide ke bhi kr skte ho 2. Haridwar se karnaprayag tak bus milegi, waha se dewal tak taxi and then dewal se lohajung tak taxi mil jaegi. Din me 2 baje ke baad dewal se taxi nhi milti.

No. This trek is in the Kumaon region. Auden's col lies in the uppar garhwal region. It starts from gangotri and ends at Kedarnath
