Mannnnnnn, the mechanic on the 2nd boss with the finger over your head gets me every time. I always thought the finger was just a indicator that you're "dizzy" or something, I didn't know it actually meant anything until this video. I feel dumb as hell now 😂

The final boss of this dungeon was so well done. This is probably my most favorite dungeon ever. The only gripe i have is the 2nd bosses lost hope mechanic since ive never been a fan of any iteration of that mech. Other than that solid boss mechanics and i especially like the 2nd part of the dungeon being horror themed.

Did o12s with paladin following your guide. Cleared fairly easily after a few tries and actually getting the good RNG for the pair phase lol.

This dungeon wasn't hard for me, but I've gotten used to lots of aoes cause of the other DT dungeons.

I'm pretty sure there is no enrage on the last boss. Experience: it took us 35 mins due to deaths.

Alright, let's see what I'm doing incorrectly... I tried this fight for the first time last night thinking "I'll figure it out along the way." After three wipes, the party disbanded.

thanks! i've been trying for days to figure out how to beat that spinning pointer.. without using a 'cheese' by dashing to an npc in duty support. once i saw it in action i was able to survive it. hopefully with a bit more practice i wont wanna vomit trying to run the ex roulette

I tried to Solo O12S with DRK new healing, it works well up until the Synchronized part where they slash you 4 times. You can survive it, but LD needs you to heal yourself, and you cant target either one until after the attacks, so you die. Obviously WAR is the go to for this, just wanted to point this out for anyone interested.

The thing I am most happy about for this dungeon is the second boss forces people to learn that spread aoe circles CAN overlap in 99% of cases and that people don’t need to run to the moon with a spread marker. You can feel their anxiety through the screen as they are forced to acknowledge this fact.

That's a lot of overcapped gauge. Kaiten could have helped here, but buttons do nothing if not pressed. You can't help anybody with that, it's on them to do their due diligence.

I was not expecting a dungeon to be as hard as a raid, this one kicked us up one side and down the other for the first couple of runs. If I could ban one mechanic, it would be that friggin' spinning finger. -.- But we got through in the end!

Though I don't play FFXIV, these bosses are a nice nod to FFXI, the character models are as I remember them. Though Shadow Lord never had clones when fighting in XI. For some reason I thought it would've been Maat as the final boss. Anyway, seeing those bosses brought back some old and fond memories in XI.

Server lag makes the final boss unplayable. It's been an issue since the DDOS earlier this year.

If there is one really critical moment for healers to know in the final boss fight, it’s toward the end, near the end of the bosses clone sequence when he initiates the propagating line pattern (plus shaped mechanic). He also does an X shaped snap shot AoE while the clone’s line AoEs are propagating. Surviving that mech is key for healers since most usually die there (like full parties). You have enough time to use the healer Rez Limit break since he does a basic raid wide after. The key to dodging the + shaped moving line AoEs is to start on the cardinal he places last, off centered. Then dodge toward the first line AoE side-let it slide by you, you have lots of time before the one under you starts to travel. Then you just need to repeat the same sorta diagonal dodge (eyeball it) from the clone’s traveling AoE. It’s much easier to dodge if you are near the center of the arena. Also for the dragon boss, dodging the same similar moving AoEs (but circular) during the tornado phase is key. Use lots of mit before that attack comes out since it does a lot of damage and any mit might not fall off for the dodging part. If the moving AoE starts on the edges, it will continue to start there for the rest of that tornado phase, it can also start in the middle. When it starts on the outside, the mechanic is a bit more difficult since there are larger cycling tornadoes around the outside you have to constantly rotate with.

First boss charge mechanic, she also says it out which is how I got through it 1st time without death. From your video I see it also shows in chat, so plenty of options. Having survived that, I thought, is this an easy tier? No! Spent most of the time on 2nd boss floor tanking. I just couldn't see the tells but this guide should mean I'm prepared for next time.

We went in blind with a duty finder 4th and the 3rd boss was... fun. Spikes chased us CCW on both attempts. No minion dropped - bastard. ;)

When the dragon boss does the donut he doesn't always follow up with the point blank, sometimes he does the 270 degree with the safe spot in front. Basically you can go stand by the head when he does the donut, but be prepared for him to spin around, which indicates he's instead going to tail swipe where the head was
