I miss that song🤗 #batang90's
I've been watching reactions to Pentatonix since the beginning of the pandemic, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. You have a keen ear and it's a pleasure to hear you point out what is happening. Many fans of Pentatonix, or PTX, have favorites, but I think they are all awesome in their own lane. Kevin, the beatboxer, is multi-talented in so many ways that it's hard to believe he is human. He will sing on some of their songs and will play the cello as well. But that just scratches the surface of areas in which he excels. The group has covered Christmas with several albums, and with the season upon us, this is a good time to discover them.
Great reaction 🙂 I also liked this a lot. New to ME as well. Will have to see if I can find more from Giant Rooks as well now. Have a great weekend, Aleks 🙂 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥
Thank you, Sharkster! Yeah, their lead singer has a beautiful voice too and let's face it, they all can play. 😉 Love to you and Norway ❤❤❤
hahah..met them a few times long time ago...yes they are all professional opera singers..
Well, apart from Marcelito. 🤣 What were they like? I know you met quite a few stars, so just wondering in comparison to some you've told me about...
Here are some basic facts and names for this video: we have two German bands here: In the first room we have AnnenMayKantereit (AMK) from Cologne, Germany, with singer Henning May, Christopher Annen (guitar), Severin Kantereit (percussion) - that's where the strange name of the band comes from, it's just the surnames of the three founding members: Annen, May and Kantereit -, Malte Huck (bass) and Ferdinand Schwarz (trumpet); Ferdinand, one of the best young German Jazz trompeters, is no "official" bandmember, but he comes from the same high school (Gymnasium) in Cologne as Annen, May and Kantereit (although he is a lttle younger than them) and he enriches numerous videos and live performances by AnnenMayKantereit with trumpet and flugelhorn and is - as far as I know - also responsible for the excellent arrangements in AMK's “Proberaum Sessions”. In the second room we have Giant Rooks from Hamm, Germany, with Frederic Rabe (the other singer), Finn Schwieters (guitar), Finn Thomas (drums), Jonathan Wischniowski (e-piano) and Luca Göttner (the Elvis lookalike on bass). Later Giant Rooks are joined by the AMK people, who come into the room without their instruments - except for Ferdinand, who takes his trumpet with him. The two bands toured together in early 2019, and the video was made during that tour by Lenny Rothenberg and Marius Möller. Henning May was 27, when the video was made, but rather looks like 17 in it, doesn't he? 2011, immediately after graduating from high school, AnnenMayKantereit began as buskers, playing on the streets of their home town Cologne: ua-cam.com/video/bJ0OlnolzKo/v-deo.html Last year they returned to Cologne (two of the members live in Berlin by now) and played to a sold-out stadium in front of 41,000 people: ua-cam.com/video/EblZVPNsO8I/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing all this! 😊 Oh, and when I first saw Henning in Barfuß Am Klavier I kept calling him "kid", so yeah, quite a baby face 🤣 Oh, my, that baby and his singing ABOUT the baby. Such a great video of their beginnings. Thank you again!
@@AleksReacts If you like some more “baby Henning”: Here is the earliest video of Henning May that can be found on UA-cam. He is obviously still a shy teenager with “baby fat” on his face (he has recently become very thin and emaciated), cute as a puppy, improvising freely with his guitar in the streets of Cologne: ua-cam.com/video/ohjtJem1E2g/v-deo.html
Thank you! I hope you won't hold it against me if I watch this one on my own. I found him very cute, charming and with a very strange voice for a "kid".
This type of MV, seemingly spontaneous, is in reality cinematographically crafted like lace. Nothing is more virtuosic than manufacturing spontaneity. As for the jazzy music, even though it remains pleasant to my ears, I will always prefer actual jazz. Therefore, I will not compare these charming young people to Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Louis Armstrong, Dinah Washington, Nat King Cole or Nina Simone... In short, it was cute, but I fail to understand what made it relaxing. Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, Bill Evans, Chet Baker or Pat Metheny have all created relaxing jazz. But this Tom's Diner was nice, cool or pleasant if you will, yet why "relaxing" ?
Glad you liked it, though not loved it (which is totally ok). 😉 I don't know why relaxing, it just relaxed me, physically and mentally. Relaxing jazz actually has the opposite effect on me. It un-relaxes me and simply does not work. Quite a personal and somewhat inexplicable thing for me...
@@AleksReacts This is what is called a paradoxical effect. There are people whom coffee makes sleepy or whom linden tea excites. Regarding relaxing music, it can be like asking someone who is getting worked up to calm down... it only makes them more irritated. In music therapy, one can only calm someone through successive stages. First, a rather rhythmic piece, then something more neutral, then gradually something calmer until reaching sounds without emotional charge. But putting an adagio in the ears of someone who has just spent an hour in traffic and congestion... nicht gut !
Ah, so there is an explanation for my quirky feeling around this. Might be just a very extroverted and constantly thinking about 5 things at the same time... They are kind of doing 5 things at the same time, so it allows me full immersion and thus, relaxation. I'm just guessing based on what you described and the fact that I am fine with traffic, noise and generally loud everything.
@@AleksReacts Exactly !
Well, this was some discovery! I never knew why it is so... This was very interesting to learn about myself. Thank you! ❤
Yes dear Aleks, I knew you would love this. Suzanne Vega's original version was lovely, but this rendition for me is in another league. When I heard this years ago I was singing it for days.on end , I couldn't get it out of my head. And tyhat brings me to another AMK cooperation, this toie with Parcels. The cover Can't get you out of my head. And also, @Hundhammer is right with his proposition of Valerie with AMK and Natalie Findlay. She sounds so adorable, and Henning is helping with the start. It is also kind of a jamsession. Really lovely, not always perfect pitch, but man what a vibe. And I know that Your song covered by Henning is on your list. Thank you for this raction. Loved to see you enjoy it. Sometimes you don't analize, but surrender to the image and sound of people really loving to come together and bring a song alive in a new way. With heart and soul. Stay safe and healthy. Greatings from ❌❌❌, and untill the next time ♥♥♥
Thank you so much, Gerda! I do love the original, but this one easily matches it or rather, it doesn't really sound like it. In my head, it's not the same song really. Just sounds kind of familiar... That's why I said "it really is a cover". Since it's very enjoyable, I thought overthinking would ruin it and also, it kind of worked on me like a snuggly blanket, so I wasn't really in the mood for any analysis... Not everything requires a brain, some things just need a heart. ❤❤❤ P.S. got both down on the list. 😉
@@AleksReacts I agree, sometimes you rest your brain and just open your heart. And when this musical gift reaches your heart it makes you relax. Moving your head with switched of brain and maybe even your body on the waves of the music. And for me their smiles and joy multiply that feeling. And I keep smiling without knowing it. That's pure joy. And just as you mentioned, relaxing me to the core. Not thinking, only feeling.
That was the exact effect it had on me - I kept trying to "keep my cool", but it just made me smile without knowing it. Actually, just got an explanation as to why it has that effect on me (in the comments by @continentzero7572. I really had no idea why it works that way. Maybe, we have similar personalities if it's affecting you the same. 😊
Hi Aleks, actually this was the very first video on which I saw AMK (and Giant Rooks), must have been about 2-3 years ago... At first I even couldn't believe they are German... As I don't listen to the radio and they weren't on the radar of any of my close friends with whom I might talk music I was completely unaware of them alltough they have been around for a while... But when I wanted to tell my younger co workers about them it turned out they all knew them, they said I must have been living under a rock - meanwhile they are filling huge arenas here in Germany. I never saw them live, but if they should happen tp play somewhere around here I might go, must be fun to watch them live... Another English cover by them I really like is Amy's Valerie, another live recording (this time at a public concert), and here Henning has a female guest duet partner, who's obviously just jumping in for that song, she goes by the name of Natalie Findlay. She's a bit nervous at the beginning and wants to start over, but then she's really getting into it, and Henning is killing it anyway, also he's playing the keys again at the beginning... else it's the core band (guitar, bass, drums) plus a guy who plays a wonderful Flügelhorn. It's another older recording (7 years old), but definitely worth a listen, really love Natalie here as well, though I never bothered to find out what else she's been doing, for me she's AMK's Valerie... Have a nice evening and enjoy it, peace out, there's a new reaction to RAYE at the EMAs, I have to run... ciao piccolina! Lots of love from the guy under a rock...
No one mentioned Valerie, and I love that song! I'll be sure to listen to that one. Seems like my rock is bigger, as it took me 2-3 years longer to discover them. 🤣 Enjoy Raye, without me for now, but soon hopefully with me. ❤❤❤
@@AleksReacts Sure will do, the thumbnail has "World Class" on it, and the title asks "best live vocals ever?" - seems the guy enjoyed it, and he's even older than me... will certainly be fun to watch... see you on the next one... Peace out!
Well, that's just rude. How am I to use "world class" in my title now? 🤣
@@AleksReacts Well, why write the obvious, it's a bit like reviewing J.S.Bach and writing "a great composer" ... I'm sure you'll come up with something more genuine... :) - and "best live vocals ever" is a bit exaggerated, even in my opinion... you might write "badass melting pot" or something along the lines, lol...
I'm sure going to get hung up on something, and that'll be it. 😉
Nagyon jó hangjuk van a fiúknak,tehetségesek nagyon!😊😊
Csodálatosak, mindegyik! 😊
AMK love to sing and perform together with other singers or bands. Here it is Giant Rooks, another German band. Wait until you have listened to their other covers, they are always great. I always enjoy your smile when you listen to Henning singing. Looking forward to more reactions ❤
Thank you so much! ❤ I went ahead and checked out Giant Rooks as well, because their lead singer sounds awesome as well as the entire band. The smile simply happens, the man and his voice both have charisma. ❤
I've come to love these guys, and I listen to them regularly now. Thanks to your channel :) But this particular song I think I heard them sing 3-4 years ago and I had forgotten all about them when I saw them again on your channel, so I decided I'd dig deeper. Becoming a fan, lol Fun reaction Aleks ❤
Thank you so much, Tolun! I am very glad to hear that! ❤❤❤ I'm not allowing myself to hear more until I actually do reactions, but I'm still in love with the first one (Barfuß Am Klavier) when I first heard Henning's voice. My pace in hearing new stuff will be slower, but I'm a fan already, too! They seem to calm and relax me, even when the song is not too happy really. 😉
@@AleksReacts Exactly! Yes, totally understand you want to keep the gems for reactions. And it's time consuming, I'm sure.
Dear Aleks, thanks for all your reaction to our godess Lara. I have another song for you from Lara and Maurane. Please find the link below. Another Piece of art ua-cam.com/video/6CH_GAoSYKk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Cl%C3%A1udiaCrachi
I love your „melting into oneanother“ metaphor. I have never heard that after watching… all of the reactions(?😊) to this video. And I love that there is one word in the serbian language to describe it!
Oh, thank you so much! I love that they did it, to prompt the thought. 😉
Hi, Aleks! I found this quite pleasant! Nice soundtrack for my lunch break. 🤗 Pure relaxing fun!
Perfect! Love that you enjoyed it 😊
The visuals of editing and fading are so seamlessly done, very entertaining Aleks, and all so well harmonized what’s there not to love. A jazzy, Do Wop mix! ❤ do not go into complicated analytics
I hadn't even noticed that! I'm all ears mostly, but that's a cool take on this video. ❤ Exactly, what's not to love - they were all great! 😊
Thank you so much, @GerdaTw, @Hundhammer, @occultured9722 and @juwen7908. LOVED this version so much that my comments seem incoherent! 🤣❤
Try out their "Amazing Grace" and "O Holy Night" Kirsten does a great job on those and steals the show
For me Kirsten stole at least a part of the show here, but I will check those out too. 😊
🇨🇦 1957 ? You have gone too far back . . . 🇨🇦
I might have overdone it. 😂
Yes Avi Kaplan is the bass. Avi is a classically trained Basso Profundo with a nice 5 octave range and he is also an overtone singer with a very nice whistle range so his range is quite impressive. The other guy hitting bass notes is Scott Hoying the tall blonde. He is a baritone and they had to layer his bass sounds several over to make his bass sound full enough. The black man, is Kevin Olusola and he was hired as a beatboxer not a singer, but his singing voice is in the upper tenor range.
Quite a few people said something similar. Still, thank you for sharing that! 😊
Hey Aleks, I know Marcelito, but don't Know this performance or who is Il Divo... The song is from Bernstein's West Side Story, Tom Waits has a very different cover of it on one of his albums, and I may say it's not boring as well... lol... I think that's it for today from my side - Marcelito is amazing for sure...
I think I like Marcelito mainly due to his frequent smiles and his personality coming through in all his performances. This one is not an exception and Il Divo were great hosts, too. 😊 I just had to check when Il Divo was formed and it was in 2003, believe it or not. I've heard them before, just wasn't enthralled by them. Still, I did enjoy this performance, quite sweet IMO.
I look nothing like my brother but the difference is we can't sing. These sisters may not look, alike BUT boy CAN THEY SING and the best rendition of this song ever recorded in my, and many others opinion.
I'd probably still say that you guys don't look alike if I saw you / met you, which doesn't mean it's a bad thing. 😂 Of course, they both CAN sing, it's just that Martha is a little younger and I understand generally less "into singing", which is easy to "forgive". 😊
In Onsei-Do (the Way of Sound, according to the ancient Kototama principle), "A-WA" is the Light of the Soul used by the Source (U) to create everything. "A" is the word-soul that gives the "La" of the atomic symphony creating our universe, the "Big Bang" known to scientists. The echo of this original sound was recorded in 2001, resonating throughout the universe 14 billion years later ... "WA" is the resonance in the material of this primordial "A". "A-WA" is the dimension of the Unconditional and Indivisible Love which manifests itself as an individual, in order to taste oneself as a multitude. "A-WA" is the Light of the Source, the Love Song of Life itself, the Inner Force which invites every being to find its true nature, the recall of our Divine nature.
Thank you so much for breaking it down! People have explained this before. You went into detail and that is appreciated. 😊
Going back and watching some of your earlier reactions that I haven't seen. Congrats on the new channel, a little late :) The first reaction of Dimash is always fun to watch. And this was not a disappointment. The look of surprise, confusion and disbelief all wrapped into one expression 🤣. Loved it.
I'm more than happy with congrats on 3K subs 😂 Even happier to see that you are exploring the very first video ever. Your description of my reaction is totally to the point - I was wondering what on Earth I'm hearing and loving it at the same time. Dimash is a good way to get hit by lightning with no fear for your life. 🤣🤣🤣
@@AleksReacts haha so true.
Nice, Aleks. It made me happy to see Marcelito in this company. Like I said in your previous reaction to him, I was afraid that he would simply disappear. Given his exceptional talent, that would be a total tragedy I think. Hopefully he'll be able to claw his way in and strike some good deals. Il Divo is an amazing group, I did listen to them quite a bit back in the days. I guess time will show how things turn out for Marcelito 🙂 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
It did happen to many other singers, who had their 5 minutes of fame and then just disappeared into the sunset. I hope he gets what he wants, whatever that may be. He seems like a nice guy and this was indeed great company to sing in. Love to Norway! ❤❤❤
@@AleksReacts 😊
Spot on buddy!
I love RAYE. She’s PHENOMENAL. thank you for the video
Thank you for watching. ❤️
Our English word Hell originates from the Germanic realm of the dead, Hel. It was used in early translations of Christian works. Hell appears no where in the bible, the original words used were Sheol, Tartarus, Gehenna, and Hades. Hell was the translation as English is also a Germanic language and the Anglo Saxons were Germanic polytheists. Hel had no negative torture dynamics, it was simply the realm of the dead. Often it was placed in Niflheim or required passage through Niflheim, the Realm of Ice and mist (what I think Aurora is mentioning about being cold)
Thank you for sharing that.
I can count on one finger the number of 9 year olds I have ever wanted to hear sing, let alone more than once. This version is on my main playlist and I have heard this easily hundreds of times by this point.
Angelina really is something, and here she doesn't sound like a 9 yo. She simply sounds like an excellent singer.
Loved this reaction, too! ❤By the way, did you notice Henning's smile after he sang the first word? 😊It's like "ok folks, I knew I'd nail it again"! 😊But not only his voice is stunning, I also love the fact that everybody in this band knows what to do with their Instruments. This is good, handmade music!!! Looking forward to your next reaction! 🥰
Agreed on all points, and I love how relaxed he is about it while the others, though great, seem to be concentrating. Still, the whole thing is just great. 🥰
Marcelito belongs to the category of "special vocal cords," alongside Dimash, Zhou Shen, Vitas, Pitta, Liao Jialin, Li Yu Gang, Huo Zun, and a few others who would be more readily described as male sopranos than countertenors. Like Pitta (whose real name is Kang Hyung Ho, soprano of the Korean band Forestella), Marcelito stands out from other freaks of nature, as you know, by having no formal training in singing, let alone opera. He was even homeless for quite a while (whereas Pitta was a chemist). All roads lead to Rome. That said, through his exceptional kindness, Marcelito is more akin to Zhou Shen, who is equally charming and full of humor. Marcelito, as you might have noticed, is Filipino. And the Philippines is truly unique when it comes to singers. While in Europe, parents aspire for their children to become engineers... with only slight exaggeration, in the Philippines it's "singer you shall be, my child !" (more generally, "my daughter"). And that is why, in any department store, you will find karaoke stations inviting six or seven-year-olds to deliver astonishing vocal performances to the crowd. Nearly all major stars began their stage careers between the ages of seven and ten. Needless to say, by adulthood… they are beasts ! Here, for example, is little eight-year-old Esang (now 17) performing that very “Somewhere”: ua-cam.com/video/cwMTocOY2B0/v-deo.html So who are these great stars among whom Marcelito has recently arrived ?... From the older generation, we have : Lea Salonga: ua-cam.com/video/cwB3Zxh2gSE/v-deo.html Gary Valenciano: ua-cam.com/video/lPnCgSN3M6Q/v-deo.html Regine Velasquez: ua-cam.com/video/qzwOFxiHLFU/v-deo.html Among the younger ones : Katrina Velarde: ua-cam.com/video/VVFO8_jWvaQ/v-deo.html Gigi de Lana: ua-cam.com/video/9pcCdBVDKak/v-deo.html Morissette Amon: ua-cam.com/video/p2FXQgtmPDw/v-deo.html Charice: ua-cam.com/video/ju_A-T4ZjUo/v-deo.html KZ Tandingan: ua-cam.com/video/wIJC5N4MEZk/v-deo.html
Somehow, his personality shines through in his smile at the end of each song I've heard. You're not the first to tell me that Philippines is truly unique when it comes to singing as a career - I find that so strange, as most parents worry it's not a secure life. Glad that it doesn't hinder the Filipino parents and children from doing what they love. ❤❤❤
@@AleksReacts It is a very poor country, and professional opportunities are limited. As such, achieving success in the music industry often seems like a dream more easily within reach than becoming a classic figure of note.
Thank you for explaining that.
@@AleksReacts Again an amazing comment from our "East Asian" friend, thanks mate! A very good survey of relevant Pinoy artists, as far as I can tell. The only one I haven't heard is Esang at 8 singing Somewhere, so that's what I'll do right now... Peace out my friend!
You should react to their version of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I plan to, among other things that have been suggested.
My memory of this song is towards the end of West Side Story. Lucy Thomas does a wonderful rendition of this as well (of course). This was such a wonderful mix of voices and a treat to wake up to. Thank you Aleks.
Thank you, Jairo! I don't think I've ever heard this song before, but it might be because I never really watched West Side Story. Maybe as a kid, in bits and pieces... I did enjoy this performance and to me it's mostly cute/sweet.
@@AleksReacts I've always had a soft spot for musicals and as those who know me well I am a bit of a music nerd as I know a lot of the words to songs from Oklahoma and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers to mention a few. So many movies and even Big Band music from before I was born that I so enjoy.
I watched the ones with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Not many of the newer ones, though I understand the charm a good musical may have. 😉
@@AleksReacts Lol, so we have now to put up Lucy Thomas vs. Tom Waits on this song, perhaps someone could do a mashup...? I can't imagine a bigger contrast between two visions and arrangements and deliveries of one and the same song, yet both are very beautiful in their own way. It's the same song and it's not the same song at all and still both versions do it justice (not sure if this one did, but it was nice anyway...) Peace out!
I am soooooooo not doing that! 🤣
Just found your reaction and enjoyed it very much! ❤ I was lucky to see the "kid" live onstage last summer and it was such a great experience! Henning's voice is just amazing (and really everybody who hears him for the first time goes like WHAT the...?!!! A babyface and THIS voice?!!!)! Try more (Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen Proberaum Session, Ozean, Pocahontas,....), you won't be disappointed. They sing some great covers, too, for example Can't get you out of my head (Kylie Minogue) together with another Band or "Bang Bang" (the music of "Kill Bill"). Love from Germany ❤
Thank you so much! I enjoyed hearing Henning May for the first time. What you wrote is exactly what was going through my mind, 12 going on 75. 😂 Ah, I have in fact reacted to Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen, you can easily find it as there's a list of reactions to each artist under the video. Then again, you are the first to point me to Bang Bang, though my plan is to go for Tom's Diner next after two songs in German. Love to Germany, I'm glad you've joined some other really cool people from Germany on the channel! ❤❤❤
@@AleksReactsOkay, I looked up for more of your AMK reactions but didn't find them, now I know where to find them, I'll check it out as soon as possible and I am looking forward to more of your reactions! ❤There are so many great artists over here (and all over this planet)! 👍
Thank you so much! I am very glad you found the 2nd one I did. I can tell you that I plan to hear more from AMK and agree with you that some great music can be found around the globe. We have years to explore it and I do hope you'll enjoy the choices and the journey. ❤❤❤
I like Il Divo, I ran across them when I had my "opera phase" 🤣 and was searching for covers of songs that I liked. No, I still love Opera, but I can't say I listen to it all the time. With the right songs and the right singers, it is absolutely stunning. Marcelito, he's great, but I I'm not a fanboy haha. I'm repeating myself, but great reaction again. Thank you.
Quite a few people share your view on Marcelito, so I get it. I'm not really sure what I think yet, except that he does have a pleasant voice and seemingly equally pleasant personality. Also, this collaboration tickled my fancy, so I was like "why not?" The performance was cute, but I'm not sure I would call it amazing. Definitely good and rather sweet. 😊
Unexpected collaboration... I was once a fan of Il Divo, when they just started, I was at several of their concerts. Memories to last a lifetime! They are all musicians with serious background. They performed with Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Barbra Streisand. Sorry, but I don't take Marcelito seriously...He's a lovely guy, but that's it.😊
I hadn't really paid attention to Il Divo - it seemed to me a bit like pop opera, but this is the first time I actually focused. It IS pop opera in a way, but they're great! I totally understand your view on Marcelito, but I'm hoping his entrance into the music world will help him mold himself into more than a person with several voices. His voice is pleasant, so hopefully technique will improve and he'll be able to become more than a guy who had his 15 minutes in the spotlight. Like you, I believe he seems to be a sweet guy. 😊
You might think Marcelito Pomoy is just a nice boy, and that's partly true. However, do not forget something. There aren't many talented singers in the world who have the same qualities, even if Pomoy hasn't completed the same quality training as members of EL DIVO! No one disputes the quality of the singers at EL DIVO, but Pomoy's talent makes him fit perfectly into the artistic level of the artists you promote!
@@kukubenko2022 One can challenge any opinion, it's a matter of taste. Marcelito is certainly a gem, he can perfectly imitate 2 voices. But technically, emotionally and artistically there exists another level. For me, this is, for example, Dimash (or Lara, Angelina ..). He/they doesn’t just sing, but creates an image, a character in every song, no matter in what range. It's kind of inner world of music.
Dear Alex, please meet the amazing Russian singer Alisa Supronova. I present to your attention Alisa Supronova's performance Just Walk Away (Celine Dion remix) ua-cam.com/video/VrMQ1nHg39o/v-deo.htmlsi=HrFdeeXkUkuyoJRZ
This time I went for a relatively new performance. I hope you will like my choice, especially since it also includes Il Divo. Thanks for introducing me to Marcelito Pomoy @macariooliver2036, @karenjayne24, @WinstonGoc-ong, @alexmazo3572, @thomasberwick3082 and @WineSippingCowboy. ❤❤❤
😂😂im just here for the Mitch slap😂😂👍👍
My cheeks started to burn, as I got Avi slapped, then Kristin slapped and finally Mitch slapped. I wish they'd find a different word for it. This hurts. 😂😂😂
Avi Kaplan, with the beard, is an operatically trained basso profundo; however, when he takes the melody line, Scott Hoying, the blond, is a baritone with a five-octave range and picks up the bass harmonies due to his incredible range. Mitch Grassi, in the hat, is a counter-tenor who also has a fantastic range. The black man is Kevin Olusola, who provides beatboxing, is a marvelous tenor, and plays the cello. Kirsten Mandolado is an outstanding mezzo-soprano.
All together they made the best version of this song in my view. Soooo, I'll listen to more for sure. 😊
Really enjoyed your reaction. That “little thrill” at the end was actually Mitch. I was impressed you even heard it because it’s one of my favorite parts and not many mention it. Please also react to my favorite acapella group called VoicePlay. Their bass singer is in a league of his own and they are so creative and captivating. Please trust me, a random stranger on the internet. 😂
I loved it, it added such beauty to the very end of the song. In my view it's hard to miss it, but that's just me... I will trust one of the many strangers on the Internet who said the same about VoicePlay. It will come up, just not right away. One new artist/group at a time or I'll get overwhelmed and totally randomized as a person. 😂
@ I completely understand 😅 I’ll go ahead and subscribe in anticipation of when you can get around to VoicePlay and Geoff Castelucci’s work. As far as recommendations to start, it’s tough because I don’t know what you like and they do it all. Rock, 80s, musical theater, Disney, Viking songs, Shanties, ballads and more… I would say just pick something that interests you and enjoy! ❤️
Thank you, YouToday! 😉 I'll dig something up to start with and we'll take it from there. I only do 3 videos per week. I have an actual job and I want to enjoy this, not do it for the clicks, likes and churns stuff out. Hope you're patient, but you'll also find some really good artists on here. So far, I haven't had a bad recommendation, so for now I'm trusting pretty cool strangers on the net who've dug me up. 😉
Anything you listen to by them is outstanding - and you have just not listened to Scott enough
Yeah, it is a first reaction and first impression. This rendition is excellent, so I'm sure to hear more. 😊
He is a beatboxer and a tenor - Mitch is the countertenor, then Kirstin is a mezzo, Scott is a baritone but sings bass when Avi is singing up, and Avi is a basso profundo
When Avi with the beard sings, Scott the blond guy sings bass. The black man is Kevin the beatboxer. Round hat guy is Mitch Grassi. Please react to them singing THE PRAYER
I got that Kevin is a beatboxer, he just "looked like" a bass rather than a tenor. 😂 They all did a great job with this one, so I will listen to more. 😊
Y’all got “Mitch slapped”
Y'all is just me and it was 3 slaps (Avi, Kristin and Mitch) 😂
