    Good one.. in the dystopian world of AI voiced stories, this was refreshing. The background music was a nice touch

    This is my first time hearing this story. A fun hot blooded Howard adventure with a waft of Lovecraftian ancient gods. Sorta Indiana Clarney. As always thank you for your entertaining readings.⚔

    As always, top self narrative and ambiance! This is why you ( and REH) are my favorite storytellers. Thank you for all your hard-work!

    Cybrarian- as always excellent voice acting and great treatment of the material. This is probably my favorite short story of any genre. Its a perfect action-adventure with a touch of cosmic horror with ancient biblical references to add just a hint of a possibility that it’s true.

    I thought it was called, " The Heart Of Assurbanipal." The important thing is i remembered it well from a paperback called simply, " CUTHULU". The scariest part was when the gem went torwards the wall which had opened partly revealing monsterous eyes looking from the dark. Of how the hero and his partner kept their eyes tightly closed because if they saw what walked from its hiding place, put the gem back in the hand of the moldering corpse on the dais, he would've lost his mind- the mind cannot always handle a denizen of the Cuthulu mythos.

      ye, the eyes closed thing is very raiders of the lost ark

      @@TheCybrarian , Only difference- the power presiding over the Ark had nothing to do with Cuthulu.

    Question: Do Robert E Howards Cthulhu story's tie-in to the Conan story's are they their own separate cannon? Either way; good October listening!

    • @TheCybrarian
      @TheCybrarian  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, they def tie-in, in several places. Conan even grapples with a shambling monstrosity in 'The Slithering Shadow'

      Conan is canonical to the Cthulhu Mythos. HPL even mentiones Cimmeria by name in "The Shadow out of Time".

      @@TheCybrarian Thanks, and I had
      actually listened to that vert story yester-
      day being both shocked and surprised
      by the appearance of a Love-Craft
      monster in that Conan story. I hear some
      say Conan is Berserks Grand-daddy and
      after that story...Yep! I agree with that!

      Howard and Lovecraft had quite a bit of discourse. I have done my best to dig up and pour through all of the works of each.
