Taking the Chevy COE apart AGAIN! / Fenders and cab coming off.
To get ready for the cooling system I need to fix the front end sheetmetal. While I'm fixing the sheetmetal I may as well pull the cab off and weld up the underside. #cabover #mechanic #rustrepair

I like your life choices. you would be sooooo bored in an office.
Did the office thing for a couple years, never again 😂
What happened to this project truck?
It’s coming back soon.
If you still need a template pattern for that door hinge I have a 54 COE you can take a pattern off of.
I say cut the rust off and make new panels you have the skill just do it much respect sir
Sir do you have part # for those headers please
Have no idea, Hooker super comps is all I see.
The patina thing is just being lazy 😂 I know I do it.
Pretty much, this thing either needs to be left alone (patina) or do a complete resto.
Don’t stop now 😂
Another great feature video. I like how you gradually convince yourself to do more. Awaiting the next chapter.
How do your neighbors feel about the noise during the day?
They are cool.
We converted our throttle control to go on the tube side.
Im a small engine tech and stihl silver certified. i work at a local landscaping company. we have 5 of these. what horrible design. we also have a bunch of the stihl br800x.
The front fenders on that truck require welting between the fender and the cab to be installed properly .
I'm thinking there might have been some fender welting between the fender and the cab. It's been years since I've been around those old advance design trucks.
As a Stihl tech, the only thing I would've mentioned or showed are the differences between the fasteners. Plastic vs machined.
I am in Mesa. My 50 Chevy COE is here at the house.....

It looks great..
Another "GREAT" show !!!❤ Appreciate your "AUDIBLE " reasoning process . Hearing your thoughts makes it real !!😂🎉 ! 😂🎉
That is the problem you don’t worry about nothing
It’s a problem if you worry about everything.
Btw... I forgot to ask you where did you get that ultra fast pounding hammer at? I sure can use one for my future patio deck! 😂
It’s the extra strength coffee 😂
You could put a connecting hose from one fuel tank to the other fuel tank with a shut off valve between them, this gives you the choice to have extra fuel or not, just open or close the connection valve.
Hint. Gas caps. Put them on sooner than later.
But then they can’t get rained on and fill with water and rust lol
@wallysworkin823 ya cleaned them before you started. I love your work and videos, wally. More videos please, kind sir.
Welding without eye protection? And...cab support. From the bottom of the frame to the top of the cab is rigid. Frame to cab support bushings and cab support bushings to cab. And/or air ride seat?
I like the honesty and transparency of your videos. I'm here for you. Have been. B4 you, there was puddings fab shop. He's a relatable character. He's also honest and transparent. No air tools because of the noise of the compressor? Saw a hose reel, with air hose. Bro.
I have just don’t use it often.
Looking good,Wally! "GOOD ENOUGH "
use the wire wheel!
you should tack the fender to the table so it wont move
Do eyelids really work as welding glasses?
They do for tack welds lol
so much progress happening, love it 😎
I really enjoy watching your progress. You making really making a nice. Thanks sharing.
Extra Fuel is always a plus. looking forward to the cab repairs and reinstall. shorter videos are easier to watch good editing and monolog. one of my favorite channels!
He's a UA-camr by the way
Near JC Smith he get some from a place of he already has the beauty ring
...making progress...
The best build going on UA-cam, Wally!! Your style of narrating while working is done perfectly! It’s as if we’re there with you. As always….looking forward to your next video!
I personally think that you should sand/grind down and paint (even with a rattle can) all the underneath the cab in order to protect it from rotting. It's not going to hurt the patina and it'll give you peace of mind that the undercarriage of your truck is protected. Just a thought. God bless.
Great Job…. Wally my go to for rust replacement patches is from a 55 gallon drum, the gentle curve is easy to shape 👏
For the steps you can use some diamond plate, and for the paint that's a GM Woodland Green. I had my fair share of working on trucks for GM dealers. Looking good on the progress. 🎉
Yeah good job...do what you gotta do to get her on the road
ever watch Brent from halfass customs ? excellent channel
I do
Maybe good to coat inside finders with bed liner spray
Wally you are like the energizer bunny lol you make feel old and i am only 62 great work on the cab
Doing a great job wally by the way whats that flag on your wall
State flag of Arizona.
nice video . i like it when people dont over exaggerat the problems
👍
I'd take the fender to body shop to work that dent out be worthwhile as that's a area that is prominent
Another great repair Wally🇿🇦
Thanks Wally!
Another good video ,this reminds me so much of how. We used to work on our old cars back in the day.thanks for posting.really looking forward to seeing the truck rolling down the street.
tool boxes behind the tank is a great idea. For number of reasons - in here trucks need to have something in front of the wheels so that nothing can get under it, like pedestrians, cyclist and so on. Boxes work great in that regard - like before - they are a nice place to hold stuff that in other case would be in the cab rolling and rattling around.
Watch Fitzee's Fabrications for great guidance on these body repairs.
