They are not. Rheinmetalls Skynex is a gun system with added missiles and is currently being implemented by a lot of militaries in europe.

I think anti-drone air defense systems will require combo systems of guns, missiles and EW. They could be on different vehicles in a unit with a shared radar and control, model it on Patriot systems.

nope. just control over on both their military and resistant militant. no empire will allow such kind of weapons and technology be used without their consent. just like high speed missiles or missile system. fear of revolt and freedom. thats why you see all the west technology is so complicated and hard to imitate from computer to weapons and miilitary plans. complete monopoly over the technology. unfortunately, it wont last very long.

If I remember correctly the army is working on a turret that mounts on a striker and has the 30mm from the Apache modified with a longer barrel and equipped with proximity viewed rounds. The turret also has mounting points on either side for 2 helfire or 4 stingers. Giving it 8 stingers, 4 helfires or 4stingers and 2 helfires. It also would have millimeter band radar and a thermal targeting system

But neither of those have guns and missiles on the same mounting. Guns and missiles used together, yes.

The title of this video is false. The US alone has two new Gun-Missile Systems being deployed in the Army and Marines.

@@knowahnosenothing4862 MADIS for the USMC and M-SHORAD for Army. The MADIS on 2 JLTVs makes a set and M-SHORAD on a Striker. The important parts are the Radar, EOIR sensors and the engagement control system. Both systems will be able to exchange out weapons systems as needed Stingers, APKWS, new Stinger replacement... Both come with the 30mm XM914 gun able to fire XM1211 proximity airburst munition and soon the new programable XM1223 multi-mode ammunition that went into production 2024.

To be fair US has some systems like that (shorad on Stryker for example), so do some other NATO members. It's not very prolifc though. But when it happens it's generally using manpads missiles.
Key argument against such systems is inefficiency. Because the moment such system detects target - it will fire missiles at it until target is gone. Guns will be only used as last ditch effort. No sane air defense crew will wait until target is within gun range and then try to engage (likelihood of failed intercept is much higher with guns) while having missiles ready to go.
It also creates deployment issues - do you set this air defense close to what you want it to protect? And risk it deleted by artillery with it's expensive missiles and radar? Or do you put it further back, so that it can cover target with missiles, knowing that guns won't reach?
It's by all metrics more practical to have guns and missiles as separate platforms. If possible - even have guns, missiles and radar as separate platforms. And that is the approach favored in West - you can but guns close, missiles a bit further away, radar in some other place. It is more manpower intensive than just having all in one, but West never really needed a lot of SHORAD defenses to be that widespread - since targets that such systems intercept are more efficiently taken down by friendly aircraft anyway. What use is your 11km SHORAD missile if other side can allow itself to run constant combat air patrols, with IR guided missiles from jets capable of clapping same targets from 20-30 km away...

It seems they should just make all IFV's SHORAD systems so they can always defend themselves from drone threats where it's most needed. The M230LF is such a scensable weapon for IFV's and battle taxi's, almost a grenade launcher but with some armor penetrating properties and option for proximity fuses.

I think the next drone defense systems will be Beam Based. Using Microwave Waves or some other form of waves to disrupt swarms of drones or fry the circuits.. against swarms of 200 or 500 drones.. using guns is also not so feasible.. using a lot of ammos and not entirely accurate also..
