Teac A-4000S

I pick this deck up for $20. I put about $20 into it, belt and caps. Did some clean up and got it running good. It's just a play back unit. Teac does make a record amp for it. It is a 4 head deck with 2 playback heads, a record head and an erase head.

I pick this up for $4. I spent no money on parts. Just clean things up and got it working. Not something that I will put on ebay. Just another deck for my collection.

Replaced the belts and clean the controls. Someone took great care of this deck. It is nearly mint.
Good afternoon: Could you tell me the characteristics of the engine, I have one of them bad and I don't know where to find a replacement for it?
MY AKAI X 330D DEPRESS PLAY BOTTON PLAYING WITHOUT SOUND HOW TO FIX THAT THANKS YOU
did you just spray the fader lube directly in the faders from the front? Or is it best to take the cover off and spray it from inside?
Still working 9n it.
Seems Teac invented the MonoPole Magnet - that's worth a Nobel Prize😊
I bought 60wpc 370r. Good to hear it tests at 65 wpc, : i dont need monster 100wpc muscle car receiver,👍
Hello Patrick, how can I access the bottom of the PCB for the SA-5300 II? It seems that the different PCBs are connected to a plastic ground plate. In my previous SA's there was a metal service bottom plate which can be unscrewed. Hopefully you can give me some instructions.
What is the ticking noise during playback?
I just got one of these today and luckily it's having the same problem. You are a lifesaver sir!
do you still work on these kind of electronics?
How do you remove the front cover to get to the innards? I think my monitor button is shorting.
What is the specs of the bulbs?how many volts?AC or DC?
Any chance to send me a pic of the tuner string how it's looped.
Nice. Can I pay you to do mine? :)
may i know the size of the idler tire? thank you mine doesn't rewind and it also stops after a few minutes of play do you happen to know what needs to be done to fix the issue? thank you
Does this deck have clutches in it.?My deck won't stay in "PLAY" mode . fast forward and rewind is sluggish. Can this be fixed? Thank you very much. .

just some late info: this table has a secondary motor to move the tonearm separately, rather than using the platter momentum~ cheers!
Greetings, I like your channel and as you explain, I have the same one but the LEDs on the set/fla/ button don't light up and the memory ones don't do anything. You'll know it could be, thank you very much.
Dan could I have the specifications of the lightbulb you replaced in the cassette “well” if you will. You mentioned you replaced it with a led. You had to add a resistor and something else? Could I have the specifications and what I need so I could do this job myself?
Hey would you have any spare knobs youd be willing to sell
Do you have any spare pioneer knobs i have a 780 and love it. Cant get a decent priced knob. Was wondering if you had any spares you would be willing to. Sell.
Does the little green button light up?
Nice but don't feel bad get pioneer or sansui marannz alast kenwood cause mcs suck
My friend bought this from you and it’s on the bench at my shop now. Good job on the transport. The display kept cutting out. Some loose solder joints on the connector terminal. Also the deck doesn’t record.
Classic vintage beauty
Useless video, that tells the viewer next to nothing, well done 👍
good, solid 30 watts per channel
Nice work Pat ,great little amplifier there?
So what exactly did you have to do to fix the rewind?
my unit is atasqued, jammed a play button, how to fix this??
I was wondering if you checked the DC on the speaker terminals. I heard you say there is no DC offset adjustment in this receiver. How do you compensate for a high dc like 100 plus ma. Enjoyed the video . Where did you find replacement parts for the on /off switch. They were discontinued years ago and many brands of stereos used them. I was lucky on my Kenwood 6050 where I was able to burnish the surface of the two points to make even contact. Good stuff. I will look to see more of your videos
good looking silver vintage receiver
Thank you for your craft and trade mechanical technology is pretty fascinating to me and understanding how to repair it is a great skill to have in the world full of microchips, if something breaks in the only answer is go buy a new one it’s pretty lame… thanks for keeping the art form alive
Have a issue with the FM Stereo / No FM Stereo light, Tuning meter wont center on channel / cleaned all the controls. only issue is the FM. Receiver is in pristine condition un molested
got mine all cleaned up and belts replaced, tires resurfaced. only problem i'm having is the rewind either won't work or it's really sluggish. fast forward works fine. any ideas?
Pinch rollers?
a good one
In the process of a very clean SX 9000 / noise and dirty controls. Need capacitors and clean volume pot to start. looking forward to the follow up video. I restore Tandberg's ( Try to restore Tandberg's )
I bought my SX-9000 in 1971. It was used daily for many years and then occasionally for many years. Now that I'm retired, its been in daily use since about 2007. It took 49 years for the last panel back light bulb to burn out. It has always been on "flat", so the graph is burned out. but I change the profile, some of the graph will light up. It's now my subwoofer amp and works perfectly except that at 52 years old, it needs some new caps. It makes amazing sounds on turn on. If there was ever a receiver that deserved respect and rebuilding, this is it! And parts are still available!
Is the acc in/out same as pre and main in/out ?
Great video.
Good video for me to take notes. I recently bought an Expert AD800 turntable and an Expert TA920 receiver, which are actually Sanyo, and now any day will receive an Expert FD750 tape player, which is actually Sankyo STD-2000 but with Expert labels. This possibly needs belt replacements and VU meter repair. By any chance, do you have the service manual for your device?
I've owned one of these for 40 years. Fun old heap to play with, great operational clanks, and the "zeeeep" of the brakes is priceless. The Revset mechanism makes the machine auto-reverse at the desired points without using foil, although this model can also work with foil. The manual is easy enough to find --- read it!
Good day sir i have the same model and i have an issue,it does play and fast forward but it doesn't rewind and when playing the cassette moves like if it was riding a wave that i dont like, i wonder what it might be?
Belt information below. I've service this several times. The bigger problem is that the transport which moves the heads up/down is tough to keep lubricated and the Play will not engage, just as shown in this video. New belts don't help that problem. Here is all the information you need for the belts. Scott 675DM tape deck Actual measurements (done on October 31, 2008) 0.050 x 5.25" square (ff/rew drive) 0.031 - 0.040 (somewhere in this range) x 7.0" 0.156 x 0.025 (thick) x 8.25" main idler wheel belt Measurements from turntables & needles site 0.039 x 4.7" square 0.039 x 6.6" square 0.025 x 0.125 x 7.7" flat PRB SCY4.8 SCY6.7 FRW7.7
I bought exactly the same amp for some time ago, everything is working fine but one fuse marked T4A on a circuit board where the main caps are sitting(closer to a tone circuit board) was blown. I replaced it but it has got blown again. What's the reason? Thanks in advance.
Congratulations!!! It is perfect. I wish I lived close to you so you could do this recap on mine. I have an SX-820, which is the equivalent of the SX-3700 but sold in Europe. Congratulations once again!!!!!!
Great unit! That was my first Sansui model and I still have it! Lower watts Sansuis seem to have warmer sound signatures. That's a keeper! 🎉
