Great instruction!
Is there anywhere currently selling this kit? Every online retailer I have seen is sold out.
I made and drank it and now too buzzed to leave a comment😅
Tim will love to get to talk to you about wine making
Doggone, that mother costs almost $300, but I want one! I'll have to wait, but I _do_ have the kit in my Amazon Wishlist.
I have seen 6or 7 videos on starting wine kits you're is the very best thank you. SEAN REDMOND Ireland 🇮🇪
Cheers!
Thank god, a video by an actual wine shop.... by an actual vitner! I saw 3 videos before this of some Califonia hippies, and some Wisconsin stay at home, prepper. All of which used absolutley no practiced methodology of modern wine making! They lost me at braed yeast, no use of a hydrometer or air lock, and bottled in what ever was available. Like, mason jars to old liqour bottles! I died a little, each time I watched these train wrecks! Kit or not, you took the proper steps! Maybe I missed it? But did you go over recording the final sugar amount, and calculating the wines ABV?
Thank you very much for the presentation. I'm new to wine making and needed this video to demonstrate all the steps involved. Very well presented and very clear. 👍
I never heard of adding water to the grape juice.. Is this normal?
No. But u have to understand that this is a very American chemical way to make wine. So if u make wine the natural way (with actual grapes) u definitely don't want to do that.
Am I supposed to check the specific gravity every day when the wine is in the first stage?
Great video, dude:)
Hi I have an emergency. Are you juice kits boiled? My puppy got into the bag.
🤔
You said to follow the directions that came with my wine kit. You also said it took you roughly 4 weeks to make the wine. How many times will I have to rack my wine before bottling? This kit says red wines are aged 12_18 months. Is this wine different from others? I'd like to enjoy it after a month if ya know what I mean.
I love this video, so thoroughly presented and informative. I’m a beer home brewer and really appreciate the step by step detailed instructions. Thanks
This video is over 6 years old so chances are this question won't be addressed. I have a question that I have been looking for an answer for some time. The hydrometer will measure the SG of the must. If there is sugar in the must it will raise the SG. Water has an SG of 1.00. If the must ferments below 1.00 how was more alcohol produced after the sugar was consumed? In this video you measured the SG change below 1.00 which calculates a higher ABV. If I put 2lbs of sugar in water it should have an SG of 1.092. Using your calculation that should have a potential ABV of about 12.00% if it goes to 1.00 which is an indication that all the sugar has been consumed. If it goes below 1.00 to .990 your calculation puts the ABV at 13.4? Where did the extra sugar come from? Its my feeling that when you produce enough alcohol, which has an SG of .79, it will cause the wine to measure below 1.00 simply because it is a colloidal with enough alcohol to lower the SG. I always measure ABV to 1.000. Low ABV batches seem to go to 1.00 and higher ABV batches seem to always go below 1.00 because of the higher alcohol content.
My instructions tell me to open the lid and stir everyday. Is it possible my instructions are wrong? Because nothing is fermenting.
Thanks for great video, i just learning to make wine first time
5/5/2022! The ordered Box is doing well! Today I started a white grape Champagne. Last year my first Cranberry Champagne. I used Champagne special yeast, "O" It was so good.
Is there a link to the kits?
Best first wine making video I’ve seen!
Why thanks!
+1 on the how long. Or, is there another metric to use?
When do I add the yeast nutrient? It is not addressed in the instructions
Where do I buy this kit I want to start making mine
Thank you! Excellent video from one who knows nothing about making wines 🍷 but would like to. Question. Where do I purchase all the items you used in this video? Is there a big kit for these items to help cut down on expense? Help me to know where to begin!
not to be an asshole but if read the instructions why should i watych you. I'm watching because i am not useing a KIT
I've heard that people fill up only 80% of liquid(18.5L). This will make taste more richer.
Awesome video 👍
I ordered my Kit last night 08/27/2021. Thanks for your video. I watched it and immeadely I ordered my KIT. I am expecting by Sept 8/2021. I am excited.
How did it turn out??? Also, where did you purchase the lab items he used? I'd be very interested to know! Thank you!
@@teresageorge7767 Teresa, I ordered it from Amazon. I have not made my Wine yet because I haven't been too well. I will make it this November, hopefully.
@@rachelhutchins9525 So how did it turn out now?
Does the wine age and improve in the bottle or can the wine be stored in oak casket for a few months then bottled? Can I purchase refills of all the consumables including juice?...can you add a link to your store? If I purchase juice from a different vendor would follow the same instructions? Great video...inspired and ready to go!
Thanks very much Tim
I would like to know why you use tap water. doesnt that affect the yeast? Or are you on a well?
25:06.....i love how his voice changes to a whisper.....excellent video...thanks!
Well explained.thumps up
This is a sales pitch.
Yeah but it's informative.
Great video!
Thank you for the video. Very helpful . Specially at the time of pandemic, it’s the best opportunity to make wine
The earliest remnants of wine were discovered in the site of Hajji Firuz Tepe, in the northern Zagros Mountains of Iran. The wine dated back to the Neolithic period (8500-4000 B.C.). Carbon dating confirmed the wine was from sometime between 5400-5000 B.C
Now that's aged wine
How will get hold of the wine expert
Hello Tim, nice presentation. I have to say that the barrel may also provide a way "concentrate" the wine due to evaporation. It is a nice way to increase the ABV and the flavors. But for sure I don't know if it worth the price...
I can't make home wine cheaper ~ Example BAREFOOT wine Pink Moscato! for 6 bucks a bottle. Its a little dry tasting. You need to pour it into a big pitcher add a little bit of sugar in it. To your taste of sweetness, It will foam up> let it settle down and pour it back into the bottle. ITS A BIG BOTTLE ~ wow it don't give the size. i would say a liter or 2 size Plus you get delicious tasting wine, at 9% volume, and a nice big bottle and a cork
When I go to fancy restaurant and I see the head chef 👨🍳 is fluffy I know my food will taste amazing... same with this guy he has wine or beer 🍺 belly for sure this wine will be out of this world 🌎 😜!!
I prefer to call it potential muscle...
Tim and I both like to play it a bit dangerous by using a corded drill for degassing rather than a cordless one. :) I just made an RJS Cab Sauv kit, and it's pretty much done the same way. I'm sipping some wine from one of their Pinot Grigio kits and even after 2 weeks in the bottle, it's mellowing nicely with a promising amount of body. I'm absolutely sold on making wine at home.
Why rack at all until it's dry? What is the point of being so close to a fully fermented wine, racking it into a carboy and having brought MAYBE enough of the colony along with it to finish? Why not just let it ferment dry in primary then rack it off the leese into secondary to start clearing?
What is preferred way to cork dry or wet?
What's the last ingredient mixed in water with the campden tablet.?
I use star San for cleaning. It’s so easy. I usually wash the kitchen sink with soap and water. Rinse very well and then fill the sink with water and star San. The sink is big enough to fit anything that needs sanitizing
Just did my first batch. Great video with detailed explanations.
Howd it come out
@@jaredbrown6978 I give it 5/10 on taste. Did a grape concentrate from Master Vintner of Sangiovese. Easy to do for first batch. 30 bottles are done!
@@markruther2274 nice. Looking to start a new hobby. Thanks for the info
Nice video ! I got some hose clips to help keep the hose under control, also when racking having a tube holder will help to keep you from stirring the fines 👍
Great presentation. I notice you didn’t add sugar? Thank you Maestro!!
I notice you left the red cap on aerator. Is this art of the process? Thanks!
Don’t need to add sugar, the pre-package juice already had sugar added. The red cap stays on the help reduce the possibility for flying bugs to get into the airlock.
