We went out of our way just to revisit Mount Sunflower for a family picture. This was actually our first highpoint altogether back in 2017. On this trip, we were travelling between Black Mesa in Oklahoma and Panorama Point in Nebraska, as a part of our 2024 summer highpointing road trip, and drove a couple hours out of the way to tag the summit of Mount Sunflower.
It was definitely a bit windy at the summit. But that is to be expected at a plains state highpoint. The roads around the highpoint are all dirt/gravel but are all in good shape.
Since this one didn't add to our High Point total, we are still sitting at 24 highpoints as a family.
